Yea, kids aren't so bad. I have a 10 year old and a 2 month old. Both girls. I'm trying to get the 10 year old to do some wrenching with me, but she's a bit too girly for that. I'm hoping the 2 month old will grow up a bit like her old man, LOL!

I thank God everyday for giving me 3 healthy boys. All love cars, sports, guns and getting filthy. I couldn't handle girls. 2-5-18 for me. Oldest is going into the Army in July, Combat Medic!

I'm the opposite. Obviously i'm thankful for just a healthy child in general, but i'm also thankful that we had a girl first. While the normal girl drama comes along with it, i'd still rather deal with girls than boys if it were up to me. Part of it may be selfish, because I don't like to share my stuff and I don't want another me running around quite yet, but I always preferred the thought of having girls to having boys. I think little boys just annoy me more for some reason...

My little one enjoys cars already though and loves to help with everything. She always wants to be doing whatever we are anyways, but she seems to enjoy helping with turning wrenches just as much as she does cooking with us too.

Seeing as girls are the standard in our families, maybe we'll break the mold, who knows? My brother had 3 girls though before giving up, my in-laws had all girls, all of my uncles had at least 3 girls before any boys, and it goes on from there. We're likely only going to have two kids, so if we don't pull it off with the next one, we're not going to keep trying until we do ;)

I've still got a few years to practice my sharpshooting and her grandpa will take care of them if I can't. :chuckle:

When we got married, her dad told me one thing: "Welcome to the family, but remember if you ever hurt my daughter, I know 50 different ways to kill you without leaving a trace." Considering he's been in the military for over 20 years and has worked for the secret service, i'm pretty sure he's not lying :couch

I was actually in jail a month before that, so it was worth his time :rotfl

It was for something stupid though. My step dad made me sit there all night for a lesson and wouldn't come bail me out until the next day. I definitely never want to experience that again for sure.

I said it was dumb, so keep that in mind.

I had a repair shop next to the Napa I worked at do some repairs to my Camaro. They adjusted the valves and did some tuning to it. The bill ended up being $600, so I picked up the car and paid them half that day. Well the car started running like a** and I refused to pay them the rest because they screwed it up and I didn't want them to touch it again. They took out a judgement against me and put a warrant out for my arrest over $300. I get home from work one night and the sheriff shows up at more door with a warrant. Basically I didn't have the money on me, so I had to go sit in jail until someone put up the money. I got bailed out the next morning and paid the money.

Sounds like a good reason not to own a Camaro....

This was a 72 SS 350 with 65k original miles, but I still despised the thing. I am by no means a Chevy guy, but my dad left me the car so I was trying to get it road worth again. Trying to restore a 70s muscle car in your early 20s is typically not a good idea...

Wow, those guys are hard-knock man. They must've really wanted their money. Did you ever give them a hard time again about fixing it? What ended up happening to the car?

I had a similar situation with a shop, but it worked out slightly better. After a month of having my first 240, he couldn't fix it and I was moving in three days! Said he'd give me one of his mechanics and access to his shop and if I could fix it in a 10 hour day, I wouldn't be charged more than the parts, written agreement. Thanks to NICO, I had it running in 4 hours. Paid very little, he tried to file against me for non-payment about 6 months later (he was going out of business, surprise surprise) and I still had my contract. Idiot paid my court costs.

Wow. Sounds like you got screwed by that shop. If your car wasn't running well, I wouldn't have paid either. And no goddamn sheriff has the right to put you in jail if you have been ripped off like that either.

B - No I won't be at Carlisle. We have to be in Virginia following weekend and I can't do both trips back to back unfortunately.

They never kept the car Ray, I picked it up and paid half. It was total BS for sure. I reported them to the BBB and gave them hell about it, but they still feel like they were right. That's one reason I trust very few repair shops these days.

Sadly in GA, shops can take a warrant out against you if you refuse to pay the bill. It's very stupid, but apparently they can do it, even though I had never heard of it before then.

That's crazy. Here in Kansas, the worst thing a shop can do is put a lien against the vehicle so that they can't sell the vehicle until the shop is paid off and removes the lien.

That was what I was always aware of, but if the shop released the vehicle to you then it was their own fault and they couldn't do anything. Well apparently this shop knew something else, because they didn't seem to care if they did the repair properly or not. I've never had a shop not be willing to work with you at all either. They were just all around d!ck
WDRacing wrote:Damn dude...Was looking fwd to finally giving you a man-hug.
I tried to pull it off dude. It just wasn't in the cards this year. We'll have to do the man-hug at the next event :inoutgay:

I do intend to be at Tail of the Dragon this fall, because Matt said he'd whoop my arse if I didn't come.
