Cancer is inevitable for me too, as are a ton of other things, which is why i've been focused on losing weight lately. Both parents died from cancer, heart disease runs in the family, as does diabetes. So far i've been in the clear, but i've been trying to work myself into a healthier lifestyle. I may avoid cancer and prolong my life by becoming a vegan or something, but that doesn't mean something else won't get me, so I try to not stress about it too much. I want an overall healthier lifestyle, but I also want to still be able to enjoy what I eat.

My biggest problem lately has been motivation to exercise too though. I hate the elements, but I also hate the gym. Overall though, I eat 100x better than I used to. I try to keep fast food, soft drinks, alcohol, and ect to minimum. I have been slacking on the fruits and veggies lately, but I still squeeze them in on a daily basis.

What are your thoughts on it?
That appears to be a good product, I am semi skeptical of almost all products that claim to be awesomesauce. It does get decent reviews, but again, how do I know the reviews are real?

My suggestion would be to try it while monitoring your pH levels with litmus strips. They check your pH via saliva.

http://www.amazon.com/Packs-Paper-Litmu ... B008IBOG7G

Stop drinking caffeine and stop eating all sugar. The only 2 sugar substitutes that don't cause cancer are honey and stevia. I use truvia which is mostly stevia with erythritol. Cancer feeds on sugar...big time. Alcohol turns into sugar as well

If you use salt, make sure it's sea salt.

While you're looking at improving your diet, check out ways to increase your iodine levels. Products that contain bromine instead of iodine are bad. Unfortunately, all major manufacturers switched to bromine. Removing iodine from our foods in another major reason we all get cancer.

If that green product works, let me know, I'll use it myself.

I too HATE the gym. Getting the proper exercise is difficult, especially in the colder months.

The keys to stopping cancer are to not eat sugar, eat lots and lots of green veggies and don't eat processed food. Unfortunately, almost all of the food in the stores is now bad for us. Even the veggies are sprayed with pesticides and grown with fertilizers that will kill a person if consumed directly. You can't even wash stuff off and be safe anymore. Cows and pigs are fed hybrid processed foods as well.

We're pretty much all f'd and it's ourselves doing it.

Baring in mind that you're fighting an uphill battle, just eat lots of salad and veggies. The more color they have the better they are. If you're going to eat pesticide and processed crap, you might as well eat what's better for you.

Check your pH. Work towards a 7.4 or higher pH level. If you can at least maintain a neutral pH you're chances improve greatly.

I plan on getting back on the bike and walking some more once warmer weather arrives. We're also planning on picking up a treadmill soon as well.

So greens are the most important then? Because as weird as it sounds, I prefer veggies to fruits. I do have more sugar that i'd like to consume most days.

It is really sad how bad almost everything is for us now. That's why I try to keep fast food and freezer meals to a minimum. I don't eat any red meat from fast food places either. I only eat chicken 90% of the time if I go out. I try to prepare my own food as much as possible, including making extra to have for lunch the next day. It's tough some days when my stress level is high though, or i'm busy, because i'll end up going out to eat just to take a break for a while.

Veggies for the most part crank your pH up. If you eat rice, make it brown. Potatoes...not so good either turns out. Which sucks cause I love potatoes and dislike yams. Broccoli and kale are super foods for cranking pH.

I've been buying bags of mixed green salad...like 5 at a time. I eat 2-3 salads a day minimum and at least 6 servings of veggies daily. I have to offset my beer and coffee intake.

The bad thing about meat, chicken too, is what they are raised on.

I don't eat a lot of fries/potatoes, but I do like them. I try to eat wheat pasta, but I have been eating white rice so i'll have to remember that. I grabbed some broccoli last night and I usually eat a couple of salads a week. I guess I need to try to increase that too and give more veggies a try. I like veggies, but when i'm in a rush, I want grab and go kind of stuff. That's where my downfall is on eating healthier than I do. If it's not quick and easy, it's hard for me to make time to prepare it.

Ya'll need some fish man! Lean protein, insanely excellent for your health. Buy the good stuff and you won't ever have to worry about getting anything from those companies that get caught up in the news all the time.

I would eat more fish, but the wife hates fish. The only thing she will eat is my Plum Wasabi Ahi Tuna. Everything else is "too fishy".

Funny, Ahi tuna is actually the worst fish for you...lol. It has the highest measured percentage of mercury of all fish.
Generally the bigger the fish, the more mercury it has. Tons of awesome smaller fish though, I love me some fish. Course, being from Mass I can't help but love good seafood.

Does she not like Tilapia?

I have tried a bunch of stuff with no luck. Tilapia, Salmon, Shrimp, Crab, and so on. She did try some lobster sushi the other night and didn't mind it too much. She still didn't like it though.

That's why I usually only eat fish when she's working. I made red beans and rice last night with blackened shrimp and turkey smoked sausage. I usually eat fish twice a week.

Its still such a small percentage that you'd have to be eating 3 cans of tuna a day for 6/7 days of the week to start to see any complications. Goddamned media.

Try Orange Roughey. Its selling really, really well in the midwest where most folks barely know what good fish tastes like.

Sounds like a kitchen issue like cross contamination.

Mercury and other heavy metals hang around your body forever though Ray. So as you eat fish the levels of mercury build up over a life time. You're not going to get kidney failure or brain tumors from eating tuna. But you can develop high levels of mercury from eating tuna more than once a week for your entire life.

The science is that mercury causes kidney and brain issues. That's just fact. It's also fact that heavy metals stay in your system. So when you're older, one of the complications can indeed be from mercury, which is inherently from eating fish.

Which is why I said smaller fish. The smaller the fish, the lower the mercury count.

I did not know that about Escolar.
However, I thought that troops were only fed American grown, fed, and processed meals? I do some development for the military and the protein and other ingredients ALWAYS have to be all American.

Man that's rough. Did you have these symptoms as stated by Wikipedia? I didn't even no s*** wax was possible.
Wikipedia wrote: Escolar's wax ester content can cause keriorrhea (Greek: flow of wax), gempylotoxism or gempylid fish poisoning.[4] Keriorrhea is similar to diarrhea, only the body will expel yellowish-orange drops of oil instead of liquid bowel movements. Some individuals suffering from escolar-induced keriorrhea also report other digestive issues, including stomach cramps, diarrhea, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and anal leakage; onset may occur between 30 minutes and 36 hours following consumption.[5] This condition may also be referred to as steatorrhea.

WOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S FRIDAY

Mornin' gents. Glad the weekend is finally here. Hopefully I can catch up on my sleep tomorrow after being sick all week. I felt like I could've slept another 3-4 hrs this morning easily.
