It's not the fault of the picture.
I'm just not a fan of mismatching body panels.

Speaking of BEAMS..

Seee'n it.

I'm really trying to figure out what to do with the car though,
it needs some parts to get it back to 100% stock standing.
then I wanna go from there in my own direction.
it's missing like, the spare tire, the jack, various covers for hidden panels which aren't hidden. but other then that it's stock enough for me

But get ready for a shocker.
I have lowering springs in the trunk. Cant decide if i'm gonna install them or not.
I really like the clearance i have currently, and the fact that it handles awesomely already.
i don't wanna overload my shocks with the lowering springs, and i don't wanna mess up the awesome handling.
But, lower center of gravity = better handling....

My car came with lowering springs.
The shocks didn't like that.
My coilovers ride better than that old setup.

I figured the wear and tear would cause me to buy new shocks anyway.
that's why they're still in the trunk.
Probably gonna sell them for goodie bits for my car

Whats shakin' in here?
The guys putting in my clutch have to remove my downpipe. More labor charge, dammit. Either way, better than having to do it myself.

They couldn't figure out of they could remove it from the bottom or not. Its a tight fit so I don't blame them, but they're going to have a HELLUVA time trying to get that b**** back on.

So i guess your turbo setup makes it a b****?
I don't recall having to remove the stock downpipe to pull the transmission on one.
Would a V-band flange make it any easier?

A V-band on the downpipe would make it MUCH easier. But you just had me thinking that I could potentially loosen the V-band on the turbo and pull it through instead of d!ck around with the f*** downpipe stud/nut combo I have.

Evening folks!

3 days of travel down and somehow caught everything back up today at the office here in Lexington. Now to do it all over again next week... I'm enjoying the travel, but i'm not enjoying the mountain of paperwork in Louisville. Hopefully the pile will shrink a little this week, since i'm supposed to have some help again this week with it all.

I'm ready for the weekend, even though the wife is working. I'm trying to decide if I want to tackle the rear brakes on the Jeep this weekend now and if I want to drop $118 for the parts or not yet.

I've been thinking the same thing, but I have no idea what to go with. GoPro seems like the Apple/Bose of dash-cams...popular but pricey.

Just recording the dumb stuff I see on a daily basis for the lulz. And backing me up in the case of an accident (which will almost certainly not be my fault).

MoD, I've read good things about this unit, but haven't convinced myself to take the plunge yet (seems it can only be easily found on ebay):

Decent review of it here:

For reference, I saw one of the dumber things on the road today that I've ever seen. Four lane road (two in each direction, obviously). I'm headed east. There are two left turn lanes (east turning north) and one right turn lane (east turning south). The east to south lane is closed for resurfacing on the road headed south. People can't figure out what to do when that happens. I was heading east in the left lane (to avoid the stopped cars in the right lane trying to figure out how to navigate to their destination given the road was closed) about to go through a green light when a woman in an SUV decided it would be a good idea to pull a U-turn from that far right lane across all four lanes of traffic (still a green light). I nearly t-boned her going 40 mph. She got a good horn treatment. I was simply dumbfounded.

Afternoon Folks!

Adam, I have Matt to thank for the wonderful avatar. I've been too lazy to fix it, but I was put in the hat against my own will :tisk:

So I think i've FINALLY fixed all of the oil leaks on the Maxima. I spent a whole weekend a couple of weeks ago doing the valve cover gaskets, only to notice in the past week that the car was still dripping on the ground. I finally got under there this morning and inspected everything, which at first I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The top end of the engine was dry, but there was oil build-up below the header and not coming from any gaskets or seals. I ran across this hose going to the engine block that was secured with a clamp, which was exactly where the oil was coming from. So I tightened up the clamp and am crossing my fingers that will solve the leak. It's fun, yet very frustrating trying to make an older car right again when it's been neglected for years.

I died

My car used to drip some oil when I bought it.
As I racked up the miles it started to get worse.
When I pulled my front mail seal one day, it basically disintegrated.

I'm pretty sure if my front seal started leaking right now, I would push the car out in the street and set it on fire.

I rode in a friend's 2007 Camry recently. I couldn't believe how CHEAP the thing felt inside. Outside it had the fancy-a** "sport" bodywork (glued-on plastic) and while it's not attractive, it doesn't look budgety. The interior, though? It reminded me of my dad's base-model 1997 Ram pickup. Hard-grey plastic EVERYWHERE. No HVAC vents for rear-seat passengers. The rear felt spartan and devoid of anything. Cheap grey cloth seats, cheap grey carpet, cheap grey door panels, and nothing more. Dunno why people love these cars so much. Probably because they've never been in anything else.
