Hi and thanks Ben!

Lol, I don't have to remind her of that. She'd just roll her eyes if I tried to.

Yes, I'm hourly. A lot of people there are salaried, but I'm hourly myself. Plus I just got a $2/hr raise before this started too. They definitely made it worth my while to help them out. Company fuel card too, so I can fill up on their dime.

They take pretty good care of us there. So far it's been a great job with a reasonable flexibility, so I do whatever I can to help out, especially if it gets me a raise or a promotion.

Holy s***, the free internet at my new apartment (which I'm using until Cable One can come by on Wednesday and "install" whatever it is they claim I can't do myself) is WAY WAY WAY Worse than I ever imagined anything free could be, and I'm known to crouch behind the nearest wall and throw rocks defensively whenever I hear the word "free."

I'm not too much more excited about Cable One, though. They don't impress. Their website is terrible (come on guys, you're a damned internet provider...at least get the website right!) and their services have a data cap. Also they have no options between s*** expensive 50 Meg and ridiculously overpriced 5 Meg. No 30 meg for an inbetween price. What the Hell can you do with 5 Megabits!? Load a geocities page from 2002? For s***'s sake, my CELLULAR service WHICH I PAY LESS FOR THAN CABLE ONE'S 5 MEG WIRED SERVICE is faster than 5 meg on a BAD day.

I'm glad we don't have s*** providers here. We have Time Waner Cable Internet and its $35/mo for 30 Meg. No complaints, always works, always reliable.

My father in law hates their Internet in VA though. He keeps saying FiOS is supposed to be there soon, but I rarely listen to him anymore because it's all he talks about. Even the nerd in me has quit caring, even though I know it's pretty awesome service.

I'm enjoying my Rugby Smart Android phone, which is my first ever to own. Sh*t, I never even had a NES until 1988, so I guess I'm late at everything.

This sucker is sitting in a glass of water and is just fine, lol.

Now that I have a 7'' tablet, I wouldn't mind a rugged smartphone to replace my sleeker one.

this thread was way too far down for my liking. so here's a little bump before bed.

job is going well. i'm on a crew of 7, not including foreman, 1 of which ends up spending more time helping out in the shop than not, 1 is on his first union job ever, 2 have never been on a nuclear site ever, and one is a regular. foreman has me and the other regular doing all the building/modifiactions, while making the other guys just feed us material. we let them tear down small scaffolds and it's so painful to watch. i can't wait until the first lay-off comes so these guys can disappear already.

on a side note, my foreman made a point to introduce me to a new psa (i have no idea what that stands for, but they're in the laborers union and do all the cleaning in the buildings). smoking hot spanish girl. i love my foreman; as needed gatorade and smoke breaks, plus breaking the ice with hot girls, he's the man.

Neat. Pics of the bike are required.

I'm terrified of winter up here. The weather isn't much different than home (that is: lots of snow) but this is a college down with a large portion of the population coming from California and the south, where snow doesn't exist. Which means lots of young, inexperienced warm-weather drivers on the road in the snow.

unless they force me to take a night off, i'm grabbing all the hours that i can. i closed out last week with 72 hours (the max we're allowed), and unless another over-time opportunity opens up this week, i'll log in 70 by next sunday night. idk how long i'll be on this job so i have to milk it for all it's worth.

Amen to that. But somehow every contract job I'm on, for some reason the client always thinks we will be available any old time after even several months of down-time tho, I wonder how that is? No benes, no taxes out, no regular work, I'm moving on to something else...

AWESOME! Just in time man. Boosting in the cold morning air is pretty fantastic.
I'm dropping the car off for a clutch tonight, then its a long (and likely annoying) break in period. But at least I'll be able to use the last 1k rpm's of my power band afterwards!

I would have tried to get in touch with them, but we were only there Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon for McDonald's presentation. The smell is awful. Good thing I only eat the egg mc muffins there.

We were showing some fish items, pedaling our wares. Nothing too crazy, but theyre one account that we havent historically made value added products for before. I'm with you as for eating there (aside from breakfast), but I did have a McFlurry yesterday after the stressful presentation. That was kinda nice.

I love their fries more than other places. I would like to say also that the chicken is edible as long as you get it without breading or gobs of mayo...

Having the fresh fries cooked in fresh oil at the HQ was pretty neat. However, I only ate about 6 of them. For me, Chick Fil A has the best fries, hands down. Or Checkers curly fries. Those sumbitches be gooooooood.

I'm not sure that Chick-Fil-A's waffle things count as fries... But they remind me of Arby's homestyle fries from a year or so ago... (not bad)

A little too potatoey for my likes. Fries are supposed to be very crispy outside and soft only in the very core IMO.
