Those are actually factory rebuilt transmissions, expensive with a too short warranty for the huge price they ask.

The transmission fluid filter is in the engine compartment in front of the alternator in the picture below.

The thread shows a picture of the filter after being cut open. The filter needs to be periodically replaced with a new one. Many members use a Magnafine filter instead of the OEM type in the picture. The Magnafine provides a better cost value. Last fall I had to wait about 6 weeks for an OEM filter to arrive after I ordered one from IOS. I believe it had to be shipped to the US via boat from Japan.

Which begs the question, where else does one buy a factory rebuilt one for less?

normally just swapped with a brand new one......."cut open" old one is only to look inside to see how much debris it collected if you are interested in knowing.
