http://www.240sxmotoring.com/oemsis15srt2.html the accessories at the bottem of this page are the one i am wondering if i will need for to get, or if i can use the stock ones.

i read in one forum on here about loosening the nuts on the turbo housing and twisting it so it sits just like the t25 but it wasnt completely clear about what parts can be reused and what parts need to be replaced

BUMPING MY QUESTIONS

First of all, I suggest you get a SS line kit along with your new turbo. Not only will that make your installation relatively simple (as SS lines go anywhere you want it w/o bending), you risk the metal lines breaking if you do bend them as this creates a sharp kink that results in a fairly large stress concentration around the kink. This combined with vibration from the motor will result in inevitable failure of the line which will either dump out your oil or coolant depending on which line breaks. Ive seen so many of this type of incident happen. Spend 100 bucks or so on a quality SS line kit and call it a day.

The intake kit you linked takes care of the inlet pipe. Hot pipe from your T25 can be used if you get a 90 degree coupler from the turbo outlet to the hot pipe.

SS line kit will come with 3 lines total. Oil feed, water feed, water return. Also, water return goes on the hole close to the block. Water feed goes on the opposite side. Oil feed goes on top. Oil return goes on bottom.

Did you figure out what you want to do with oil return flange?

are parts for the gt28 and gt2871 turbos interchangeable? like if some one had an s13 sr and they put a gt2871 on would the oil return work fro mthe gt28.

yup, it would work.

But hopefully you are getting a used SS line kit?

Also, the new gt2871r comes with a built in oil regulator. What this does is it limits the oil pressure fed to the center section so that it doesnt damage the ball bearings. Older gt2871r came with no such built in regulator and people had to add an extra regulator to their oil line.

So if you are got a used set but your turbo already has one... Obviously you do not need to put in that used regulator.

The way you can tell whether or not you have a regulator is to look down the top hole of the center section (oil feed hole) and you should not be able to see straight through (shouldn't see the shaft) but rather you will see a brass material with a tiny hole on the side. That's your regulator.

yea ia was wondering about the regulator. i am planing on getting the circuit sport ss lines 110$ and they dont come with a regulater, cause the discription said that you need to buy one seprate. so since a new turbo wil have one al lready i should be good. . i perfere to not get used parts i feel better installing new parts.

yeah just double check once you get your turbo to make sure it has one. Otherwise you will be blowing out the turbo in few months.

i am back on the wide band question lol. in the other forum the guy is trying to install a narrow band and you all says it wasnt a good idea. casue they are useless. so i check otu the AF gauge i wwas planing on getting and it is a narrow band so i guess i dont need to get it huh. so if i am gettign an anthaply tune. i dotn need to worry about a A/F gauge at all?

to your first question... Narrowband gauge is useless... dont get it. Spend the money somewhere else.

to your second question... you NEVER want to not worry about A/F ratio as this is possibly the most important part of a tune besides ignition timing. Although it's not required, I would recommend it. I dont have wideband on my car but I know that its spot on because I checked with my friend's Innovate unit. But seriously, I really want to get one tho... only if I wasnt planning on selling the car.

It can also be a useful diagnostic tool if your engine is for some reason running like chit... A/F gauge will tell you partly why.

well i am finally getting around to pulling my head to night so i can take it into the machine shop tomorrow. the guys siad you dont hot tank aluminum heads. they pressure clean them with hot water. e said he isnt even sure if he will have to deck it if the head isnt warpped. which it shouldnt be, because i am taking it off wit hthe motor cold and falling the head removale thread. he will install my new vavle seals and new springs, check lift and stuff for my cams.

i kinda wanted to do this part to say i did it. but i dont have all the right tools. and it is worth it for me to pay to have it done right, cause i am a NOOB if he wasnt doing it over the weekend then i could see if i could come and watch while he did it. but i got other stuff i got to take care off.

it will be a relief when this part is done and back on the block cause. this is the most time important part of the build i think. and it should hopfully just be an aray of bolt-ons after this.

next i got to extend the wiring harness so i can tuck the wires under the intake manifold. that shouldnt be too hard. it is only 10 wires. 8 to the injectors and 2 to the O2 sensor.

well i guess this thread has turned into my build page as well. might as well up load soem pics on here too.

a narrow band can be close to the turbo outlet. a wideband o2 sensor needs to be a few feet behind it. 36" back IIRC.

OK I will check my down pipe to see if there is a bung on it for a wide band.

Its a redhead alright.

She would like you more if you took off her clutch fan and gave her a nice set of electrics.
