That does suck about the dog. However I just don't see chemo saving the dog any more happy years. It is already getting up there in its years. I actually took the time to look it up and the average lifespan is only 7 years for that breed. I am with applebonker if you have the money to throw away must be nice. I mean I love my dog but if she gets really sick I will either put her down myself or take it and have it done. I won't put her through chemo, I have seen how hard it is on people. I would rather just make it quick if it gets that bad for her.

A form of Lyme? What? There are different forms of Lyme?

Treated with chemo? I've never heard of this.

I have Lyme.

about that. i know there are more than one bacteria that cause the disease, but afaik, it's the same disease. and the usual course of treatment is antibiotics. interesting...

Yeah, okay, I give.

But as for Lyme disease: doctors aren't really sure what it is. And they're even less sure about how to treat it. Antibiotics seem to work... but not always. You'll have a hard time getting two doctors to agree to the symptoms of Lyme disease, too.

Nala's post said it's actually cancer. Cancer is the most common cause of death for the Bernese breed.
