nvm i'll just wetsand it...cross your fingers!tigerpawkc wrote:so, I know this question has been posted like a million times, but none of the posts i found in my search answered me 100%...I need to clean my '95's headlights, but I don't really want to wetsand it and screw it up...I'm comfortable with buffing compound, can I do it by hand and it work well enough to be worth my while? And will I need anything else before/after?
It will run like crap and possibly stall out if you have an opening after your MAF. Duct tape it if you have to (After all, it is an air duct). Anything before the MAF doesn't really matter, but you want all your air to be filtered.Zee wrote:This is just a quick question. My 89 SOHC has a bad intake box and pipe. Do I actually need one? I realize my car will throw a code and that the MAFS does help meter the air so the ECU compensate for it by adding more fuel , but do I actually need to have it when running a stock application?
well.. in my honest opinion, if the rust is bad, I'd just source out a base model hatch, its 10x easier if you don't wanna go through a body man. You cant just fill up or cover rust, rust will just continue to spread. You'd have to cut out the rusted portions and replace with something.nismonoob28 wrote:I am removing my spoiler on my 92 240sx, and thers sum rust that needs to be cleaned up with all the holes from the spoiler. Should I take it to a body shop or can i do this myself and still make it look good?
Any tips, advice and opinions would be great
hows your rpm? more info pleaseScuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:I was gonna make a thread but seeing as im already here and i love to post here.
Ive been noticing when im at a stop light in my 240. If i keep my foot on the brake i get a very slightly deeper tone from the exhaust than if i just let the car sit with no braking. What in the world is that about?
Because when you hit the brakes, your are placing a load on the electrical system, which places a load on the alternator, which places a load on the motor. Your RPMs probably drop a little, and the load makes the motor work more, and is therefore slightly louder, kinda like when you are driving up a slight incline as opposed to driving down a slight incline.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:I was gonna make a thread but seeing as im already here and i love to post here.

I'm guessing the same thing...bone_stock_240 wrote:Just a quick question. My buddy has a FWD audi A4, but the engine is mounted longitudinally. That was the first time I had ever seen it. Why is it like that? I am guessing it is cheaper to manufacture because they FWD drivetrain can be a very similar layout to the AWD version. Am I close, or way off?
Yeah, I could really be a teacher, but I can't stand kids.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:^^^ I LOVE this guy . I understand now and it makes sense.

Cool, didnt know that. What are the advantages to mounting a FWD engine the right way?d!ck wrote:just because a car is FWD doesnt mean the engine has to sit transversally. Acura Legends had a longitudinal mounted engine too, and they were never offered in anything but FWD.
but they dont want to learn about cars... or do they.adrians_s13 wrote:be a teacher at an all girls catholic high school
I did the cheap route... didn't work too well. I dont want steel, but I dont want cheap (anymore) LOLhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=270848plus they have to accomodate extended studs, cuz I'm a stud, and I'm extended nawmmmmean?!Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:As for the lug nuts.. why? They look cool and all but unless i find 100 dollars in the street i wont buy em. Plus if anyone really wanted they could just screw off the three that arent locks and theyd have a free set of 5 zigen lugs minus locks.
my first guess would be accessibility. transverse mounted engines suck for engine bay space where it matters.bone_stock_240 wrote:
