My thread got deleted =(

I want to buy Pro-seven coilovers... But I don't see them on tanabe's site: http://www.tanabe-usa.com/coilovers.asp ... Friend selling used. Should I bother and get new Pro-5 or should I go for Pro-Sevens? Even though it's discontinued think they will be able to be rebuild?

Email them and see if they can rebuild them, and for how much.... Best to know first hand.... For a budget PBM and BC's have very similar setups which are rebuildable.

Quick couple of questions.

-Head and Block were decked (do not know how much was taken off though) and was wondering if a .040" head gasket will do the job (cylinders are bored .020 over((89.5mm)) and I can't find a 90mm .027" gasket)

-Also, I got a gasket set and some new hardware for the internals from the machine shop, and I was wondering if the new Main bolts(Crank) would hold up to 6-8lbs. of boost later-on or if I should just opt for the ARP ones

The bolts will hold 6-8lbs of boost just fine. I wouldn't go TOO much higher than that though... maybe past 12 you'll want to look into upgrading. That head gasket should to just fine as well.

im reinstalling my SR injectors and i noticed 2 have a broken tab. there is suppose to be 4 small tabs on the bottom and there is only 3. are they still ok to install?

im also installing new o-rings on the injectors, what should i use to seal them? i usually use Vaseline on o-rings and it works fine, but i dunno if its any different with gas involved.

I just got my s14 a few day ago and i'm wanting to know of a good place to buy items. I don't want to waste my money on ebay items when i'm going to later replace them. I want to do it right the first time. What are some good websites to buy items for my new s14? I'd also like to know a place to get factory interior pieces, ex. I need the connector piece for the shift boot and on ebay it's 70$.

Oh yeah, that's fine. We've had people on here that run them with no tabs.

And for a lubricant for putting on the O-rings- normal petroleum usually swell o-rings, but the paintball industry makes lubricants that are O-ring friendly. Vaseline will work, but try and get the paintball stuff if you can.

Interior pieces are sort of a case-by-case basis, but this forum has a sponsor called "Redline shift boots" (I think). Anyway, they should be in advertiser's marketplace. You can get a shift boot from them. Any other NICO sponsor should have S14 parts for you (Enjuku might be the best though). What specifically are you looking for? SPLparts.com is good for suspension.

glad you said that, i broke off another tab when removing the lower o ring lol
how many o-rings are suppose to be installed all together?
i know the 8 for the upper and lower of each inj. but in my gasket kit, the pack for the inj. o-rings has more then 8. there is 18 total, and in a seperate bag, there is another 7 o-rings. is an o ring suppose to lay in the the fuel rail too? i thought so but it was like 6 months ago when i took it apart. i cant find it in the service manual. if anyone knows a page # for a diagram in the pdf service manual that would be awesome. i can post a pic of the o rings if needed. thanks

I was looking for a good overall website, i was looking around and i ran into http://www.frsport.com/ but i don't know how reliable this site is and if they sell their quality pieces for the lowest. I'm just looking for a site that you guys highly recommend, or pretty much everything they sell is made for a 240sx. I know i might sound stupid and all but my bro started messing with cars back when i was sitting in my room playing call of duty 2. I'm kinda late and i want to be filled in on some good knowledge, thanks guys.

i read that to install the stage 3 brian crower cams on ka, the head would need to be trimmed a little. so i was wondering what tools would be needed to do the trimming or would i need to take it to a machine shop?

does anything happen to the engine if the o2 sensor is disconnected?

when is it a good time to replace the pcv valve?

Not sure on the cams, you might want to contact the company on that one.

If the O2 sensor is disconnected, I think the engine runs off of a map mode, or in limp mode. Either way, performance and fuel economy will suffer.

A good time to replace the PCV valve is when the intake manifold is off.

thanks for the help. sorry for not clarifying, what i'm asking about the pcv valve is that since my car has about 166k miles, i dont know if with that many miles the pvc valve would get dirty it stop working and effect the performance and fuel economy.

I've never really heard of one going bad in a 240. I guess if you're worried about it, you could run some seafoam in your oil for a few minutes before changing it out.

i asked a few times but never got an answer.
when installing a stock sr fuel rail & injectors, are any other o rings suppose to be installed besides the 2 that go on each injector? do o-rings go on the bottom of the fuel rail before it gets placed in the manifold? like the lip on the bottom of each injector slot. i dunno if that makes sense or not. it was taken apart like 6 months ago and i cant remember. thanks

That's a big NO. :) And don't be afraid to ask engine specific questions in their respective forum. This makes it easier for someone to find the answer through search.

Awesome!!! Thanks Man! i usually just ask easy questions, might start one soon tho.
I'm having a hard time getting the injectors to sit in the manifold straight, they are fine until tightening the last few turns and seems like the rail twists, so the plastic piece with the tabs on the bottom of the injector are hitting the sides inside the manifold. should they all sit dead center?

3k sounds about right. what's wrong with your hatch?
I have not time to work on it or space, living in a apartment complex FTL. That coupe was too good to be true, the owner flaked :tisk:

sorry for the noob question but DOHC p/s lines should fit in a SOHC car right? the hoses do not want to bolt on  and what do I need to install the a/c?

I bought another 240, its a 90 s13 coupe with a 93 KA

Theoretically, no. The upgraded cams are designed to make small adjustments to valves travel at it's current timing. Ignition timing can be modified depending on the results you're looking for, but required? No.
