What is the value difference between haveing a 1997 Kouki 240 with just under 90K miles and 4 lug hubs compared to that same car with the 5 lug conversion? In other words, Would it be worth the $500 to swap my 4 lugs to a 5 lug set up in order to gain value so I can make more off the sale of my car?

You shouldnt have to pay 500 for a 5 lug conversion, at least where Im from. Where are you located? Depending on when you need it i might be able to sell you one for cheaper. PM me?

Noone is going to pay you any more for a 5 lug swapped S13... There are plenty of nice wheels that are 4 lug... It just takes a little extra research..

I beg to differ, out in california thats one of the first things people look for besides engine upgrades is 5 lug, coils, and brake upgrades. Z brakes and 5 lug were one of the selling points when I payed for mine. 5 lug rims look better.and being that he has a kouki it should up the price a bit. its a simple upgrade, imo definitely worth the time.

So I bought a 240 not to long ago and its having some problems. First of I'd like to state that the coolant reservoir has a crack and holds no coolant, and my air box only has the top half and the filter is taped in. Now the problems. The car runs rich most of the time. It will bog often and when I let off the gas it will backfire out the exhaust(in some cases causing a flame or 2 to pop out). It also idles weird and will fluctuate between 2 and 7 hundred rpms and will sometimes die. Can anyone help me out here? I'm getting a new coolant tank and new air box in the next few days. Thanks.

You might have a vacuum leak, or a dirty MAF. You could also have a dirty idle control valve, or a bad O2 sensor.

what would cause my RPM gauge to tell me my cars idling at 5Krpm when i know for a fact its around 500rpm? as soon as i turn the car off the gauge flies down to zero, obviously

5K is an odd number indeed. Usually, if a gauge goes faulty, it will either read 0 or peg itself out (like if it gets grounded or something). What happens when you hit the throttle? Does it go up/past redline and max itself out?

I didnt shift passed second gear driving it (was going literally next door), and i shifted before redline to get into second because I wasnt sure if i should do anything higher. in which it dropped back down to 5k again. My engine is sound, its only got 71k miles on it so i know its not the engine that holds the problem haha

Ok I'm having some problems understanding you. You start the car, it idles normal, the tach reads 5k. You put it in first and start to go. The car idles up and the tach does too? What happens if you put it in gear and don't give it any gas, and let the clutch out? Do the RPMs drop below 5k? What happens if you turn the key to "ON" without the car running?

^ Does the car otherwise feel weak and underpowered? I would suspect a misfire? Check spark to all cylinders.

Hey gang, I'm picking up my '95 s14 in a week or so. It has a bad motor according to the owner. My question is rebuild or get a running motor? I am not looking for a drift car or anything super fancy but I do enjoy carving up the back roads. The stock power seems fine and the handleing is awesome. I haven't set up a budget yet since I haven't decided which way to go wit hit. Any advice?

it shouldnt be too hard to find a DOHC ka for a reasonable price. correct me if im wrong but it would probably cost less money and be less work than rebuilding the one in the car already.

Yeah I'd go with a known good motor. Just make sure to get a 95 or newer. What is wrong with the one in the car anyway?

Lol. When I first start it up the first stretch of road is the best. Car has all the power it can but it warms up a little, starts running rich, and bogs terribly. Then the little single slammer loses most of its power. :(

Well then, its probably your coolant temp sensor.

Having a hard time finding this answer. Will S14 SE wheels w/ 215/45/16 tires clear Stance GR+ Pro Coilovers without running spacers? I'm running -2.5 camber in the rear, but I want to lower to -1.75. I checked rimtuck and a million different forums, but still can't seem to find the answer.

i have a few questions
- i bought the energy suspension master bushing kit, since then i was talking to someone that said he wouldn't install poly bushings anywhere on the car as they tend to bind up. is that true?

-are the subframe inserts from the ES kit any good compared to the full bushings or the solid aluminum bushings? i really dont want to spend more money on bushings, but if the inserts are no good i'd rather just get the right ones now.

when i removed the valve cover that there was a bunch of scratches around the edge, some looked deep and others were small, it looks like someone tried to take the valve cover off and started prying it with a screw driver to break ir loose. is this going to cause a leak? what can i do to fix it? im kinda worried now

What gauge are the stock grounding wires on the s13 240sx?
Thinking about upgrading my ground wires when I go home and am undecided on what size wire to upgrade to. Would 10-12ga still be a significant upgrade?

I think different grounds have different ga thicknesses... I went with 8 ga for my head to firewalll ground, and 2 ga battery wire for my passenger side engine to chassis ground., and I think 14-16 ga (can't remember) for my MAF.
