I recently changed the sub frame bushings to energy suspension bushings but when I had the sub frame out, I didn't check the differential bushings. The stock sub frame bushings where in bad shape. Is it safe to say that the differential bushings are more or less in the same shape? How do I check to find out? If they are bad, would it allow the differential to shift or move around like in a sharp curve possibly binding the drive shaft a bit? Thanks guy.

Wish I could help... no differential bushings on the OEM S13, S14 not so sure. I swapped in a Q45 VLSD and the differential bushings were TRASH!

Nissan doesn't really have any... I mean, there is NISMO, but most of their products are overpriced and don't really offer any sort of performance gain (but some do).

ALL of the major manufacturers make something for Nissan.

Megan, Tien, Greddy, Borla, Tanabe, AEM, Buddy Club, Skunk2, JIC, Synapse, Ichiba, HKS, ISIS, Stance, BC, DC, EBC, Brembo, Wilwood, E-Motor, Injen, Seibon, Mazworx, Peak, ER, Excessive, Aeromotive, Circuit Sports, Deatschworks, Sard, Tomei, CP, Walbro, Energy Suspension, Suspension Techniques, ARP, Brian Crower, Clevite, Cometic, Eagle, Magnecor, Origin, VersionSELECT, Jim Wolf Technology, Koyo, Mishimoto, and the list goes on and on and on.

Spoon and Mugen build engines and design their own parts. Their parts don't differ from other manufacturers very much. Jim Wolf does the same thing for Nissan. Stillen/AP Racing focuses on Nissans (... and fords, for some reason).

Nismo can't really be counted. It's NISsan MOtorsports. But they're still decent. (I have a Nismo oil cap, lmao)

Way to make the transition to Nissan!!! Now you'll NEVER go back.

hey guys so i thought i was going to be done with 240's when i sold my 95 se because of leaving for the army but it turns out once you spend time with a 240 you can never not own a 240 so now i am in a toss up and asking for some advice or and i see that i would fit in this post of atleast i hope

just to paint a picture of what i am thinking of doing

so i am looking for just any s13 does not matter to me what style (unless you know something i should)

was thinking of going with a Ca18det or Sr20det but was looking more towards the ca because its less expensive... Comments on that willing to hear it all thoughts

also can i use the stock rear end or do i need to get a custom driveshaft

can i run either set up with out an intercooler

is one able to be dropped in with less work

i am not looking for serious power right now but will be looking at upgrading and tweaking things as i go

Thanks for checking this out

CA18DET is a great choice for the 240, but SR20DET has much, much, much, much more aftermarket support, much more support. There are hundreds of sites you can go to for parts, kits, etc.

The first thing you need to do is search/browse this site for Build Threads, How-Tos, and other technical question threads that relate to your project. EVERYTHING has been covered multiple times.

Most of us on here are like a big family. If you have specific questions you need answered that your search came up empty on, ask. SR20DET question... you could even shoot an email at an active user who's performed the swap. We're usually pretty friendly.

I am in the Army too and wish you the best of luck. I say S13 Hatch, just a personal favorite. You can run either setup without an intercooler, but why? I believe it's an integral part of a turbo kit... The cooler the intake air, the cooler the exhaust air, the longer the turbo life, the more power, the better response, the better fuel economy, etc. etc.

Can one be dropped in a week... either. As long as you have everything you're going to need. As a swapper, I know that you need to be ready for the unthinkable... it's not a matter of if something will go wrong or be difficult; it's a matter of when. SR20DET parts are easier to get you hands on in short notice. You can look at the classifieds on here and find something SR20 added almost every day.

Bottom line, install the intercooler.

Good luck!

Is your CEL on? If NJ does a sniffer test, then you'll definitely fail, unless you run almost entirely on alcohol.

Your best bet at this point would be to go to a muffler shop and get them to rig up an exhaust for you with a catalytic converter or 2. You should also verify that your EGR is working correctly before getting the inspection.

I can't find an "identify these parts" thread so this is where I thought to find out what kind of rear fender / skide skirts are on this hatch. . .?

That's just a modified Origin kit. They cut out the rear and put on a rear diffuser.

Question fom a friend.

Will ECU error code 34 (Knock Sensor) keep a KA24DE from cranking but not starting?

Not seeing anything useful on this code.

Thanks in advance.

One Love,

Ghasty

I cant seem to find the diameter of the tension rod bushings for the stock arms for the front 1995 240 non SE. Can you tell me this or can you point me into the right direction. I checked out the FSM and it only told me how to remove them. Unless, its on a different page that I may not have. Yeah, I dont have a complete FSM. Thanks.

I was looking to get polyurethane, but the cite I was looking at had diameters. I'm not sure to the ones that replace the original. ??? I found the replacements (rubber) but they didn't tell me the diameter of them. Thanks.

well i was trying to back my car up the drive way yesterday to get it in the garage (its on a hill) to do my clutch, i would have to hold my shifter in reverse to keep the clutch engaged, but when it would move a inch then something would slip in the transmission and i would roll down. i kind of sounded like something was grinding. and today i jacked up my car and looked at my transmission/engine and i can see my flywheel, is that good?

So... you didn't unbolt anything? You just jacked it up and BAM, your flywheel is staring you in the face?

If so... that isn't good. You're missing some bolts some where.

Honestly, I've never heard of that before... I'm really not sure what kind of damage it can cause. It could cause no damage at all, or all hell could break loose.

I'd at least check to see how your splines look, and go from there. You might want to just replace the whole transmission if you can find a good deal on one.

Ok guys, im officially done with my 5 lug swap an have my new wheels installed. I have TSW Thruxtons (18x9.5 +20 rear and 18x8 +40 front) i know i need spacers for the front haha. Ill post pics tomorrow.

Anyway, the rears poke like 1/2 inch about, (it looks hot, my car makes me change my pants) but the thing thats not so hot is when i take a corner at normal/slightly fast speed and i rub. That sucks. Im thinking coils but im a poor highschool student. I dont wanna be "slammed". I want a functional 1-2 inch drop and stifff suspension with very little body roll to maximize handling (Im going for grip not drift). Ive been looking at godspeed coils.. I've heard decent things from people that actually have used them and the usual BS from people that haven't. Opinions? My car is just a DD that gets in the usual spirited driving, it will NEVER be tracked. lol. Thanks guys. And im going to get my fenders rolled as needed after i drop it.

I have a few buddies that use them, they are the same as isis. They seem to be holding up okay, spring rates are a little high for my liking. If you can save up save for some PBM or BC

My turn for a question... My front bumper is zip-tied on at the moment. This look is terrible imho. Can anyone tell me what size of bolts it is that holds it? Or does it use fasteners?

I found this diagram on courtesyparts.com but trying to figure out what's what is driving me nuts.

Apparently, you missed the part where I said that mine is held on by zipties...

And yes, some had grey dashes.
