used ngk iridium plugs, when installing the last plug it felt like the threads did not settle like the rest (the plug tightened all to soon)...taking a shot at myself but i believe the engine would not perform if such was the case!??PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:
b) "out of tolerance"?? What kind of plugs did you use?
350s are a dime a dozen. The problem is the weight of them. Of course, you can make a s***load of power with them though.krunkel wrote:can a 350 engine fit in a '92 240?and not the engine from a 350z but from a chevy or some american car. if so how much power could i get out of it and what all could i do with it (drift, drag, autocross, ect.)? i got a buddy at work that will sell it to me for $100!
AFAIK, the KA transmission will NOT bolt up to the RB in any way. I'm pretty sure it doesn't stock, but I'm not sure if its possible to make an adapter plate.berserkbishop wrote:New to 240's. I
I am looking at buying an s13 with the RB20DET already swapped. The current owner claims to be the one who did the swap. Everything seems solid on the car but it has a bad grind when going into 2nd. He says that the transmission in it was from the KA.
Can a KA transmission be used with the RB20 and if so how long before the transmission cant handle the extra HP?
He is asking $4000 with the car which includes some nice gauges and coilovers installed. Is this a good price?
Thanks in advance!
I'd probably go with the other motor. How many miles are on the one you have?krunkel wrote:ok so i went to a shop and its gonna cost me 200 to pull the head to see whats wrong and then a trip to a machine shop to get something cut then plus parts and s***. the guy told me that im looking at around 800 to 1000 for all this but if its something simple he said 600 cause it wont have to go to a machine shop. Now after after all that, i got a friend that knows a guy that will sell me a motor (that he says runs) and he will install it for 500(500=price of motor and installation). hes selling the motor cause hes doing a sr swap. the motor is stock and is from a auto. plus the guy said if the motor doesnt run or some s*** he'll give me my money back. what would be better to do?
