yeah. and if you roll it down normal-strength,(or attempt to =P ) it goes down like a millimeter. if you use hulk-strength, it rolls down. likewise for making it go up.

Any 91-94 should work... might need a little minor persuasion, but nothing major.

I THINK you are talking about the pilot bushing. You could try using a puller, but I think I ended up dremeling mine off.

Im running into more trouble with my car

I know this is a noob question to most but I dont know much about cars, please help. I have a 90 s13 hatch and its been getting worst lately.

Every time I turn the car on it dies. It idles real low I have to give it gas so that it doesnt turn off. There is also some sort of oil leak that spills all over. Could it be a blown head gasket?

I took the car to a mechanic and he couldnt work on it because supposedly it took too much of his time. He did say that the engine was fine but that vacumm system has messed up. Wires, sensors were disconnected Im guessing for the aftermarket intake.

Will post a video in a couple of minutes.

Thanks

Yeah sounds like a vacuum leak. Look for disconnected hoses, but if you can't find any, pick up some starting fluid and spray it around any suspect areas. The car should idle up. You can then concentrate your search in that specific area.

Depends what your impact gun is set to. Just do it evenly in a star pattern and you should be fine.

Alright so I'm an hour north of NYC in Westchester County and I'm looking for a shop with a good reputation to rebuild my KA. Anyone know of any, the closer to me the better.

hoooray, almost done with my 5spd swap!buuut, i have a problem. i don't have anything to put onto the bottom half of the transmission, like theres no where to screw the bolts into...if that makes sense.

i cant screw on four of the bottom bolts on the transmission because theres nothing to screw it into.

i couldnt use the gusset brackets (not sure of right word) because those came off the automatic transmission.

i think i forgot to buy something...

need some help

Nothing to screw into on the transmission, or on the car? Are you talking about the transmission mount?

Its the starter plate. the AT one is missing the lower half and the MT is a full plate/shield.

You need a starter plate from a Manual trans 240sx. 89-94 will work.

However, this does mean you now take off the trans/flywheel/and clutch just to get to the plate.

My dual cam KA was an auto and I left the starter plate on it. Then did the above and put the 90's manual starter plate on.

good luck

I think the four lowest bolts go through the trans gussets, through the starter plate, and into the transmission.

In other words, I believe those bolts are to secure the gussets to the trans.

If I can take a picture up on a lift tommorrow, I will.

im pretty sure you can, i just did the 5 speed swap about a month ago. if not, hardware is cheap, find some metrics, dont use standard hardware, thats so irritating!

Alright, I ran into another problem. I appreciate all the help ive recieved so far, its just that I had a shop do my swap and Im trying to figure out exactly what they did and how I can resolve my remaining issues.

First: I think its my maf, but everytime I start my car I have to accelerate in order for the car not to stall out. This happens at start up and whenever I stop. What Ive been doing is putting the car in neutral when I am stopped and that seems to keep it from stalling. Trans is an automatic btw.

Second: When replacing the tachometer after swapping in a dohc into an sohc, is it normal to also have to switch the speedometer as well? Or is there a wire thats unplugged somewhere? Neither work.

Thats it for now, thanks in advance.
