It's the rubber tube, not a metal one. A friend of mine said I could just buy any rubber hose to replace it but I'm not so sure. I'll try to get in there and get a picture of it.

Probably talking about the PAIR valve... just rip that crap out and plug the hole.

It's the hose that connects the headers to the exhaust line, if that helps.

Also if anyone could offer some advice on fixing my power steering, that would be great. I'm pretty sure just a hose needs to be replaced. I'm not really an expert, more of a "bring it to the shop" kinda guy.

So I take it you have no power steering? Red fluid could be automatic transmission fluid as well (do you have an auto?).

I've contacted NICO's S13 power steering guru to come in here and sell you the busted hose.

I'm quite sure it's power steering fluid. I had a beamer where the same thing happened, and my 240 is a 5 speed

Thanks a lot man!

Alright, first off we have to determine which hose is that is leaking, if it is the soft line that goes from the reservoir on the fender-well to the pump then it is a very easy fix. You can take the hose off and go to any auto parts store and have them cut you a new one, that is what's called a "soft-line"

Unfortunatly it's more likely that the high pressure line has spring a leak since that is the notorious weak point of the system. The high pressure line has a banjo fitting on top of the pump and then takes a 90* plunge down the backside of the pump where it meets up with a steel "hard-line" and goes over to the steering rack. However, you are in luck since my company, Fujii SPL, makes replacement high pressure lines! They come right off the back of the banjo style fitting on the pump and delete the high pressure to hard-line mess and simply go straight to the rack with new fittings and washers included.

Examine these lines and see if you can find the leaking area and we can go from there to get your power steering in tip-top shape again. This also provides a perfect opportunity to replace the power steering fluid as well. There is a drain on the back of your steering rack to let it out, and you can take off the soft-line from the reservoir to drain that portion. On my own car I refilled it using synthetic power steering fluid, don't know if it made any difference but it does not cost much more and is clear in color unlike the nasty red stuff. Which helps on an automatic in finding leaks, so that an liquid under the car will be a different color.

Hope that helps out, I'm going to save that so I can just copy and paste next time someone brings this up... wheeew!

thanks a lot man, I'll go out and take a look at it tomorrow and take some photos of what I think the problem area is. It's about minus fourty today with wind chill and I have the flu, so I don't think it would be smart to go tinkering around outside haha. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be nicer and I'll have a good look. It'll probably be hard to find because in the past I've just brought cars with the same issue to the shop. And all the fluid has probably drained out by now because there was tons of red oil on the floor and it's been sitting for a few months. Nonetheless I'm sure I can find the problem area and then can start trying to get my hands on the right part. It sounds like this might be do-able once I can get it into my garage.

Im new too, I have a 1990 hatchback if you get an s-13 becareful because really the interior is fit but the break pedal and gas pedal are really close together that almost made me hit a guy on a dirtbike

you know the light button to make the lights go up and down. if you keep hitting it really fast it will make only one headlight wink its kind of fun to do when you stop at a crosswalk and a group of girls go by lol

maybe a relay? or you need new turn signals. idk thats weird

Is it your car? Just go look if it is... but to me it looks like its some sort of cooler (transmission cooler maybe?)

So my rear bumper cover on my S14 is dented in and I want to fix it. I know how to take it off but most of the stupid plastic screws are stripped, I'd clip them off but where do I get replacement ones?

Maybe a "bumper fastener kit" from a dealership? Things like that are often "dealer only" items.

Nope. Only the s14 and newer does. But the s13 did get a good crash test rating iirc. That might be something to mention if you were looking to persuade.

And no, you can't install aftermarket ones if you were going to ask.

I guarantee you 100% that you will not buy a silvia if you sell that car... its the same damn thing as you had just bought, so your dad still isn't going to want to let you have it, only its way more expensive, from another country, and right hand drive.

Tell your dad there is more to safety than airbags... look at race cars. How many of those do you see with airbags?

HA! Good point don't worry i think i can pursway him his first car was a 68 camaro and that didn't have any air bags. HE'S still here and he doesn't wear his seat belt . I've seen a pic of his car and it was 20 different colors. I'll post a pic of the 240sx when I get home.

Respond back by saying "please Max let Jake drive his 240sx" every one who reads this post this^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ so I can drive my car.

^ You're only 13? Wow, that's even younger than when I started. My advice is pick one up soon (whatever you get), the next F&F is coming out and will most likely raise the "drift tax." 240s are already way overpriced as it is.

And btw, I doubt my advice will really sway your dad, I'm not even 16 yet. Try getting someone older to try to get him on your side. Good luck dude.

About that thread, don't buy a 240 if you expect chicks to like it. Because they most likely won't. And if you want to find the thread, use the search button.

Is it possible to use a HKS Hi-Power exhaust on my KA24DET motor (now), and later use it on a SR20DET motor (later) by converting the upper components to bolt up to the turbo?

You can definitely use the cat back, and yes as long as everything is still in the same place, there isn't any reason you can't use the whole thing. That being said, the odds of everything being in the same place after a swap (turbo mounting point to turbo mounting point) are very slim, so you might end up having to make something custom, or replacing your downpipe, or both.

All I can say is do a search. Removing the AIV is pretty easy, just onbolt it, unplug it, and plug the hole in the exhaust.
