Drivers side of the engine bay, there should be a ground wire going from the back of the head to the firewall. Check to make sure it isn't broken, or corroded.

I am new/old here.Used to own a S13 240sx se hatch 5 speed with the the yellow and green wire cut so that it would go faster than 110mph and all the sensors unhook from the trans. I have a 2001 eclipse gt right know that is for sale so i can be able to get me another 240sx. I miss the one that i had. i am such a dumbass for getting rid of the one i had.Any one know where i can get a cheap on at? like a body with no engine or with a blown engine in it.Once you drive a 240sx and then get rid of it you always want another one they are the best car that i have driven.

It is either somewhere in the engine bay, or it is on the driver's side of the interior, kindof underneath the dash. I want to say it is somewhere underneath the dash, somewhere above/around the clutch pedal and fuse box. If its not there, download a factory service manual, and do a search for "Data link connector".

Does anyone know of any drift driving schools in the east coast? A friend of mine took me this past weekend and it was awesome, and I would rather learn in a school or class the right way that way I don't mess up my car. Thanks,

Rzerob

you have an electrical short, the fuse blew because the lights stayed on until they blew the fuse. Check the sockets on the lights for bad wiring or wa rust in the sockets, but i would think its is most likely a faulty brake switch. Its mounted right above your brake pedal.

Just because this is a newb thread doesn't mean you don't have to read. I already answered your question ON THIS PAGE.

Hey Papa Smurf.

So a few months back my car kept stalling when I was driving. My friends and I checked the fuel pump connectors and they looked they were corroded (both male and female connectors). So I cut one of the connectors and on further examination saw that they connector was not corroded, but very dirty and pasty because the previous owner doused the connectors with electrical paste. So we cleaned the connectors very well with electrical spray, welded the connector i cut off back on, and used shrink wrap to seal them. The car was running fine until this week when the car was stalling on me. I eventually had to keep shooting starter fluid in the intake so it would start. The car would run but then shut off about 2 mins later. Luckily I was close to home, but i had to continue shooting starter fluid in the intake and repeat the process 3 times before I made it home.

So now the car is at home and im taking the bus

The car has fired up fine since, but im afraid to drive it, fearing that it will stall in the middle of the street again?

So do you think that I should direct connect the fuel pump wires and get rid of the bad connectors? Or do you think its another problem, like the pump itself? These bad economic times do not match my car breaking down!!

PLEASE HELP! Thank you

So I asked in the 240sx technical forum, and no one seems to be able to answer my question, or they are overlooking it, lol. so here go's:

So far this is what I got for BSFC (f.y.i. brake specific fuel consumption)

BSFC = lb.hp (target at flywheel) x hr.

I am confused on what lb. and the hr. numbers should be. I keep getting numbers that are around .15, i.e. way to low.

The word on the block is that BSFC should be between .50 and .60 and up???Should I just estimate it to be around .55 or is that not the "correct" way to do things?

Papa I know your the man and won't dissapoint, lolAny help would be appreciatedThanks, Speckid

To calculate BSFC, use the formula BSFC = Fuel rate / PowerFuel rate being in lb/hr and power being in HP.

So, say you have 45#/hr injectors, and you make 330 hp. BSFC= 45*4(because you have 4 injectors)/330.

45*4=180180/330= .545If you don't know your lb/hr equivalent, us this:Injector CC/min= lb/hr *10.5so your 45#/hr injectors are roughly 475cc injectors.

I love how everyone assumes I just know everything haha.

Yeah, those connections sound kindof shady. I'd replace them. You might also want to replace the pump while you are in there though. Walbro fuel pumps are like, 89 bucks. Whatever you feel you can swing man. Good luck.

Im going to try to direct connect the sucker ASAP! Im tired of taking the bus. I have a KA24DE, bone stock. Do you think the Walbro fuel pump will run too rich on my stock engine?

Thanks

I don't think so, but I'm not totally sure. I would think the O2 sensor could pick up the slack. If you can find a stock fuel pump for less, go for it. I have never looked into one, and have no idea how much one might cost.

The OEM fuel pumps are always more! I found one at Autozone for 100 bucks! I dont know if I should just direct connect the wires or just replace the fuel pump and the wires. I hope that the fuel pump is the culprit, and that something else isnt doing the stalling.

yeah. If the fuel pump is cutting out, you should be experiencing a gradual loss of fuel pressure. I would think it would start acting weird, and then cut out, as opposed to just dieing all together all at once.

hmm interesting. I started the car up about 4 times today at my house. No problem at start up. I just dont want to drive it out and make a crash. So ill just cut the faulty connectors and direct connect them.

Thanks! You've been really helping me out.

What is the best AFR to run on a KA-T during WOT?-if you could nail it down to one afr number what would it be?

What is an average intake manifold temperature?(KA)

What is the maximum rpm of KA with S13 cams, the redline?

lol thanks again, youve helped me out more than anyone.
