It is either somewhere in the engine bay, or it is on the driver's side of the interior, kindof underneath the dash. I want to say it is somewhere underneath the dash, somewhere above/around the clutch pedal and fuse box. If its not there, download a factory service manual, and do a search for "Data link connector".240pr06 wrote:

you have an electrical short, the fuse blew because the lights stayed on until they blew the fuse. Check the sockets on the lights for bad wiring or wa rust in the sockets, but i would think its is most likely a faulty brake switch. Its mounted right above your brake pedal.dahveed wrote:alrighty, so my brakestop lights weren't working, so i went ahead and bought some some 15a fuses. ive just replaced them, except now the brakestop lights wouldnt turn off! haha, i had to take it out right now. wuz i doing something wrong, or what gives?
It isn't necessary, but if yo want to introduce yourself, you can do so in either Gen chat, or 240 gen chat..Marcus23 wrote:not used to this.
is there some kind of intro thread? or is that not necessary..

the brake switch issue is covered in this thread.zerothread?id=272469dahveed wrote:thanks! ill check it out tomorrow, my baby is out on the street right now D:
how would i go about replacing the brake switch?
Yeah, those connections sound kindof shady. I'd replace them. You might also want to replace the pump while you are in there though. Walbro fuel pumps are like, 89 bucks. Whatever you feel you can swing man. Good luck.hazukijitsu wrote:Hey Papa Smurf.
So a few months back my car kept stalling when I was driving. My friends and I checked the fuel pump connectors and they looked they were corroded (both male and female connectors). So I cut one of the connectors and on further examination saw that they connector was not corroded, but very dirty and pasty because the previous owner doused the connectors with electrical paste. So we cleaned the connectors very well with electrical spray, welded the connector i cut off back on, and used shrink wrap to seal them. The car was running fine until this week when the car was stalling on me. I eventually had to keep shooting starter fluid in the intake so it would start. The car would run but then shut off about 2 mins later. Luckily I was close to home, but i had to continue shooting starter fluid in the intake and repeat the process 3 times before I made it home.
So now the car is at home and im taking the bus
The car has fired up fine since, but im afraid to drive it, fearing that it will stall in the middle of the street again?
So do you think that I should direct connect the fuel pump wires and get rid of the bad connectors? Or do you think its another problem, like the pump itself? These bad economic times do not match my car breaking down!!
PLEASE HELP! Thank you
