They are rumors, there are no official words on it yet AFAIK. Im excited though, I think Leo could do a fantastic job at any of the main roles in Akira. I think it will really come down to the screen writers and directors, if either of them decided to stray from the original storyline, it will ruin everything. Also, if the producers attempt to make it more mass market friendly, it will most likely suck. As of yet, I cant think of any animes made movies, that I truely enjoyed. I just dont dig what the mass market does.numbnuts240 wrote:flood lights
on a side note, i was imdb, or whatever it is, and i looked up "akira", still not sure why. anyways, a few options came up, one of them being dated for 2009. i clicked on it and read that it is part one of a two part, live-action film starring leonardo dicaprio. has anyone else heard anything about this?
I think it just seems extra long because no one is posting pictures everywhere.xckid wrote:nope

Thats the thing though, Akira is one of the few that could be done. I loved the manga, but they did have to cut a lot out for the movie. But the did a good job, essentially, for a live action flick, all the hard work is done, if they just follow the story of the movie, they will keep from pissing off the purists. All they really need to do, is sort the effects, and nail down a decent cast, with a director who is a fan of Anime.numbnuts240 wrote:the new sig setup makes the pages seem a lot longer too.
i think leo is a fantastic actor and just about every role he plays is executed flawlessly. i'd love akira to be made live-action, but the chances that it will stay true to the original story-line and not suck are pretty slim to none
No doubt.numbnuts240 wrote:we'll just have to wait and see.

At 60 mpg you should be able to afford race fuel. Diesel really isn't all that expensive. Diesel is the wave of the future, Subaru's new diesel EE20 should be out soon, and Toyota plans to bring a diesel Tundra to the USA within the next 2 years. Every other country is going nuts for Diesel, but for some reason the USA hates it, and I for one think lack of understanding is to blame.xckid wrote:llol damn 60mpg huh.... dont think i could afford diesel
ooo woot next page
So what if the price per gallon is higher. Think about it, at $5 a gallon, a 10 gallon tank costs $50. That $50 will get you 600 miles. Now regular gas costs, lets say $3 a gallon, it costs you $30 to fill the same tank, but only gets you 300 miles. Now it takes 2 tanks to go the same distance, you are actually paying more for gasoline.xckid wrote:no i know all the pro's about diesel just i dont think i could afford paying between 4 to 5 bucks a gallon. Especially since im still paying for school and books.
i dont even think my parents would give me the okay to buy me a diesel vehicle .
Where the hell do you find $3/gallon gas? It's almost $5/gallon here.FlatBlackIan wrote:

Lay out the facts, I bet your parents will listen, if you've done your research, you might just impress them.

I was just using that number because it made the math easier. I wanted to make painfully obvious the benefits. Ive been paying right around $4 a gallon for 93.
