i gotta get me one. room is limited in the living room, but we've done it before. the roomie said he wants a fake one so we don't have to clean up after it, but i like real trees and it's not like he does much cleaning unless i tell him to lol. he needs a mother back in his life.

I live in an apartment. Lease says fake trees only. Next year we will be in the condo, Im totally getting a real tree, at least 8' tall.

Stay tuned for pictures of the decorated tree.

I don't see the allure of a real tree. The smell? The way it looks? If that's it, then I believe you are silly because the clean up, the possible insect problem and the fire hazards are just too much to deal with.

It really is such a fleeting novelty, you'll see why once you get one.

My grandparents had a real tree every year growing up. I think a big part of it is the smell. You would probable say the same thing about real fire places, but I love them too. A fake Christmas tree, like a fake fireplace, can never bring the same warmth to a room that the real things can. Insects are easy to control, they make a spray that you put on before decorating. As for cleanup, a quick vacuum once a day is really not that tough, to me its worth it. As for the fire hazard, low heat LED lighting pretty much covers that. As long as your house wasn't built in 1876 I wouldn't imagine them being high risk.

I guess I just like that sort of thing. Given the choice, I would live in an old cabin in the woods over an apartment in the city any day of the week, its just who I am.

I just woke up. I raked my property yesterday, and had no idea that many leaves had piled up. It's an acre, too. I am so sore.

Did you rake the pile out into the road, just to drive a car through it?

We have that nifty space between the sidewalk and the road to put them on. It's actually illegal to put them on the road around here, you really can get a ticket for it. But most people don't give a **** and do it anyway. I hate that.

We have so little parking as it is, so I call and tattle on my neighbors all the time. Idiots! Most of them don't want to put a pile on the grass because they are worried about killing it or something. Leaves on the street are a fire hazard.

The idiot across the street actually covered the fire hydrant with his pile... I had the cops on him in like 2 hours, lol. People are dumb.
