I doubt it. Though I'm sure it'll be popular with the mullet wearin',confederate flag wavin', NASCAR lovin', Furd fanatics.I think Ford missed the point of the new T-Bird. It was essentially an ordinary Lincoln LS with an attractive retro 2 door body slapped on. The performance didn't match the sporty look. It's a shame

Oh yeah. I forgot about the GT40. Now, there's one new Ford I wouldn't mind having.

I was actually talking about the original, as in the last time Ford really rocked the automotive world.

the new GT is really cool though, I had posted a thread with a Top Gear vid of the new car a while back...

If the lightning concept is the actual lightning, I think I'd very much want one of the new ones.

same goes for the Mustang Cobra if Ford gets modular.

I think the GT40 may have been the last one. Can you think of any other Fords that rocked the automotive world? Let's see, Model T, Model A, the Ford V-8 (1932?), for sure. Maybe the 1955 T-bird?...nahh. Perhaps the first Mustang that got a V8...hmmmm? no. Did I miss some?

haha, oh yeah, forgot about the current concept lightning and the intercooler technology, that's pretty significant feat, seems like someone would've done that before now though, I'm anxious to see how well it works personally.

If I could get my hands on a GT40... YUM

Anyway ford doesnt do much "Rocking" of the automotive world.. but I do respect how they made lightnings and the GT40 of course.

However, this new dodge ram with a viper engine in it looks nice as well :P

I went and looked at the new hemi rams and the new f150 the other day and I still stand by the dodge. The new F150 is nice, but needs some refining. I really want a single cab hemi ram. Black manual transmission, and some really nice rims. Oh yeah thats the stuff.

Yeah, the lightnings are badass trucks, but they weren't the first to do that. Remember the Syclones.....

Yeah, the new GT is definitely an awesome car, but not world rockin' at this point. Unless I'm totally missing something, it offers Dodge Viper level performance at double the price. Perhaps it outhandles the Viper AND it does have much more of a history to it.

Now...the sheer automotive excess of the Bugatti Veyron. THAT's what I call world rockin'. When you have to *detune* the engine to 1000 HP and have a car that can hit 250 mph, people tend to notice. ;)

Edit: Forgot all wheel drive, 7 speed paddle shifted transmission and a 16 cylinder 8.0 liter engine in a W configuration with a turbo charge for each 4 cylinder bank!

Of course, you can buy 6 or 7 Ford GT's for the price of one Veyron and this thread seems to have totally gone off topic. :D

I saw a ram today with some nice chromes on it. Not sure what size though and they weren't too flashy either. They looked just right on the Hemi Ram.

Hehehe

Power wagon wasn't it? Can't quite remember. But I don't believe it had the performance the lightning or syclone have.

Dodge has had a few "custom" ideas like that that never really caught on. Like the convertible dakotas that sold for a short while.

Conv. trucks were a retched fad from the 80s and 90s that I am glad to see gone. At least around here. The Power wagon was an old dode 4x4. The little red wagon had like a 360 and was quite high performance for its time. Sorry it is just called the "Lil' Red Truck" http://www.lhmopars.com/MOPAR_...k.jpg

check those links and this was back in 78.

Also known as little red express.

those convertible trucks actually spawned from the Shelby Dakota, which I forgot all about...

it was around before the Syclone:D

but I was referring to fullsize trucks, toyota had a turbo pick up well before GM.
