I was talking about the numbers of hondas and how cheap they are to build. I believe I said you can get a V8 MUSTANG for under 20k. :rolleyes

Hell, you can get a turbo kit for an S2000 for $1500.

I'm not sure, I've just seen them. But probably not the best for that price.

The SSR is the biggest hunk of junk i have ever seen, sure it has a big V8, but its small and weighs 4500 ****in pounds. What the hell is up with that?

Yeah, when the concept first showed up GM said 3600 lbs. and 400hp. Funny how far from that it actually is. It's just another of those "look what I got" pieces of crap. I believe it has 300 and something hp, but runs in the high 15s (correct me if I'm wrong), that's pityful.

I know someone who drove an SSR (a corvette afficionado who works for the National Corvette Museum). He said he was not overly impressed with the SSR. He thought it was more of a limited use gimmicky car like the Prowler. He said power was not blazing, it's handling was more like a pickup truck, but it was more attractive than the pictures give it credit. GM might be over-hyping it a hopped up new age El Camino, or Z06 pickup truck but it's neither. IMHO it's just GM jumping into the Baby Boomer nostalgia craze. As a Baby Boomer, I'm not impressed.

It's different, and I like the styling, but the performance should be a lot better and there's no way in hell I'd pay $42k for it.:D

Yeah, but you know it will sell. Sadly. Also I am still waiting to hear why the mustang is such a piece of **** car. I have not heard a valid complaint about the car yet. All of them are owner related not car related. It does all it is built to do. Not like ford goes out and says "Buy this V6 mustang and you will be the hottest thing on the road!"

on a similar note, while at walmart looking at a 5.0 and other fast fords mag, there's a '03 Mach 1 running a single turbo on a stock block with a meager 5 pounds of boost and a manual transmission that got a best of 11.8 in the quarter at 4500 ft. not too shabby if you ask me, imagine 10 or 15 lbs on that sucker...

I believe "Quality is job 1" was Fords slogan for many years. Here are some non-owner reasons why V-6 Fords are not the hottest thing out there. Build quality is poor, car was built with cheap parts, they're unreliable, not especially comfortable, and get bad gas mileage. Want more?

well for starters i never said my car was the fastest car on the road or that it can beat anycar it sees. second of all the whole thing about burningthe tires, i am just happy i have one that will spin the tires. my old thunderbird the transmission was going bad it took forever to shift, so burning the tires was just completely out of the question. another thing trying or knowing how to spin the tires has nothing to do with it, in case you didn't know it takes hpand torque to spin the tires some cars do not have that hp and torque yeah you can get it if you have the money to spend. and if you are wooping these mustangs as you say you are tell us what guns you are running in the 240 or are you doing this on muscle and if you are then these parties that have these muscles cars( that you call rednecks) then it ain't a damn one of them can drive.

thank you i am done.

p.s hold up, wait a min, i'm not done. if you need to know more about guns,or hei systems or gear ratios taht these mustangs may be pulling or what type in gear you may be pulling or anything else you would like to know about a combustible engine feel free to ask meand if i don't know the answer i'm sure that i can answer it anyway because i know someone that knows combustible engines frontwars and backwards so please do feel free to ask!!! if i am not in the shop degreeing a cam or checking the valve clearance with a few friends of mine i will get back to you.

I never said they were the hottest thing on the road. I said they did what they were built to do. Be a sporty, reasonably priced coupe. They got this across very well. Comfortability I disagree with. Our 94 gt vert was very nice, granted this is more a personal opinion. Unreliable I don't see, I wont dobt you but some information to back it up would be great. The only part about fords build quality that I find to be horrid is interior pieces. Fuel economy on a 99 3.8 stang is 20/27 woth the 4 speed auto. This is about average milage definatly not bad. Also check out this reliability rating on the 99 mustang. http://autos.msn.com/research/...c=vip All info from http://www.autos.msn.com

In no way am I trying to be a smart *** or anything just trying to have a good debate. :D

I haven't found the Ford 3.8 to be unreliable personally, and mine's a more stressed engine too.

the biggest problem it's given me at 157k miles is a screwy DIS module and I don't even think the N/A 3.8 uses a DIS system, in the t birds it still had a distributor.

Well as much as I hate net arguments I believe I'll participate in this one. I never claimed that you said your car was the fastest, nor did I claim that mine was. I merely said I don't like mustangs or Hondas and no I'm not excluding every single mustang or honda but for the most part....I don't like them. So what?! And I don't need your petty lesson in hp or torque thank you. ANY car can burn the tires, hold the brake, rev it up, and light up the tires. End of story. It is just much easier, prettier and more effective with a powerful vehicle. And yeah I stomp on Mustangs and what the hell ever all the time. I never said all of them or no mustang will ever beat me, but yeah my ride is quick. Had you read my signature you would know the majority of what I have. And yeah most of those rednecks or whoever can drive. But numbers don't lie sweetheart. My car is lighter and quicker. Come watch me race if you like at the next NICO meet. Or wait.....maybe when I finish my licensing you can watch me at a pro drag meet. Your choice. Maybe I can teach you a thing or two.

i'm glad you don't need my lesson on hp and all that stuff, that just means i can save it for soemone who needs it!!. i'm just the type i have to see it to believe it, any one can say anything but the proof is in the pudding. how much is diffrence of the weight between your car and the mustangs. my mustangs weights 3800 pounds.

nissanrose, you have a v6 mustang. I can run faster than one of those can turn the 1/4 in. So don't be talking about your car beating anything on the road.

hell altiman, a new V6 stang could give you a run for your money honestly.

The NA 3.8 isn't a powerhouse by any means, but it is a stout motor that any Ford Mechanic will vouche for, and that says a lot because you'll find most dealer mechanics have a tendency to hate the cars they work on...

pretty funny to talk to Chrysler mechanics sometimes:D
