yeah i used that diagram. the only problem is that now i have to use the button to lower my headlights all the time. they will turn off but not lower until i hold the button. it really isnt that big of a deal to me, but it might to others. the button i used was $2.99 i think. the rotary knob should work if you can get the current to flow for the split second the knob clicks. each little click would be like a push of the button only quicker. if you could get it to work like that, it would be perfect.

what about a push button to activate the circut then a knob to control height and then you shut off the circuit and leave the light where you want it?? ill have to buy a bunch of switches relays and a few stepper motors to play with

well there already is a button that turns the curcit on. the button i installed broke that curcit, and connected it only when i pushed the button. i push the oem button once to raise the lights, then again to lower them. the button i installed breaks that current so the lights stay up. they will only lower when i push the button. usually three light taps sets them right where i want them. i dont know that much about stepper motors, just heard they were expensive.hope this helps

i've been back and forth about what i would want to do cosmetically to the front end of my s13. most likely i will get the Pivot lazy eye kit. PLUS canadian DRL''s (go in the grey slots under the turn signals) that would be sweet enough for me. and when i get my CA18det it will be very sleeper-like me thinks (not having the silvia front-end to call attention to the car)

check it:http://www.autoimaging.com/sho...t=77&It seems like prolly the same thing we're trying to figure out only waaaay more expensive, but just plug and play. mebbe someone shoud bite the bullet and get one so you guys can figure out how it works and make it for cheaper.

i dont think a knob would work not that i think about it!!! cause you would have to turn it then turn it back really quiwk to get the hieght you wanted just like punching a button really fast

i meant like a regulator knob. you know like when you twist a volume knob to increase power or like the light fixtures in a house that have that dimming knob. Something to that effect. Just regulate power so it goes slow enough to get it right where you want it.

ewww, i just got a new idea to solve your headlight retract problemn,.... why not wire a toggle switch into the current that would bypass the momentary switch when you want it too!!!

that make any sence? ill draw up a diagram later!!

What did you end up using? That toggle switch is a cool idea, you could use one of those flip up switches with a cover like they have on fighter jets to turn it on and off. I always wanted a reason to have one of those in my car.

i just used a moentary switch for now! im goin to test all the wires on the button and figure them all out and try to wire a open close along with that sleepy eye button into it!! also i dont have power mirrors but. i got a power mirror thing on my center consol.. so ill be wiring it into that so i can use that to lower the lights its a momentary switch in it self .. plus it has a toggle switch built into it !!!!!

He he he . . . we totally hijacked this post didn't we? oh well. I'll be looking forward to seeing how that disable switch works. Just curious, I know soldering is the best way, but I don't have the equipment, did you solder or just splice the wires? I've got a set of H4 replacement headlights that have this little blue light in there that can be wired up to the parking lights. I think it might be cool to have the sleepy eye thing going on with that little blue light in there for twilight time or whatever.

I'll revise the cost of the switch for thoroughness sake:$3.26 at Radio Snack10 minutes to install... I reccomend soldering, takes a little extra time but won't come undone... gonna do something might as well do it to last. Thanks for the wiring diag.

Those Grim headlights look cute, but you can't use that popup switch (technical name for that thing?) to make your lights "Wave" to anyone :icesangel
