I have a CVT 08 and can't keep it at 2k for anything basically. Unless I'm doing like 20 mph.Althalus wrote:Tips:
Keep it at 2k RPM as much as possible while accelerating.
MPG = Miles per gallon. Take the number of miles on your trip odometer, divide it by the number of gallons you put into it.collegeversa25 wrote:thanks guys,
my next question is how to calculate mpg, i am about to fill up again. also what kind of gas to you all use for your versa's
Well, it was 32 MPG US, 39 IMP. So I got promised . . . er . . . estimated mileage for city driving on the highway. But it's an improvement.frankohabs wrote:It's only one tank strictly on the road . . . but I hit 30 mpg US (I think) and I'm ecstatic.
It is sad.
Seriously? Mine is usually between 1200rpm and 2000rpm.kaze0 wrote:

I hit 30 mpg once with cruise control on for 200 miles, but in general even with mostly highway driving I barely average 25 mpg.
No. It is 13.8 or something like that. Check your manual.collegeversa25 wrote:so the versa tank is 10 gallons total??
Best wishes for your son.srellim234 wrote:My gas mileage is about to go up in a hurry. Our son is having surgery at Eglin AFB Monday so I'm driving to Florida this weekend and back sometime in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking at about 4,400 highway miles by the time I'm done.
I gotta LOL that you consider the Versa "geared tall".dannybye wrote:Ok, It is becoming very clear to me I am able to get 41 to 42.5 mpg every day when i drive my V Avearage speed is about 40 mph
What I'm seeing is that the V's are geared tall and it's easy to get over 40 in city/suburb driving (not to many lights) ..
Short notice plane ticket is a lot more than that. Add car rental once I get there. From here to Eglin is 30 hours actual driving time. I know because I drove by there on the way home from our Christmas/New Year trip in the Rendezvous.Versa Madness wrote:Best of luck on the drive, but wouldn't it be better to fly? Seems like a long haul and gas alone would be around $400 roundtrip.
That's one reason I went for the CVT after a lifetime of driving sticks. On the flat, the CVT runs 2000 rpm at 60mph and 2500 at 75mph. The engine's much happier, and so am I!dannybye wrote:Put this car on the highway she'll turn 3000rpm at 60 or so gas mileage falls to barely 35Driving 55 is not much better. The sweet spot for this car is 40-50 mph.
For me that works For many of you that do a fair amount of highway driving you just aren't going to get great mileage especially at 70-80 Engine is turning way to many revs at those speeds. Gas mileage is going to suck
