iwas into american muscle when i first got into cars.. but by the time i got my license i didnt have the money to buy a hemi charger. so i settled for a 87 firebird. well that didnt last too long, had more problems with it than i care to remember. so i staretd lookin for something lese. i n\wanted speed and agility. a friend of mine mentioned a 240 [first time i ever heard of it] and i researched it. finally, after 2 years without wheels, i bought my first 240 sx. ill never buy anything other than a nissan now :)

My first car was a 1990 Pontiac Grand AM LE 4dr sedan with the old 2.5litre 4cyl motor and automatic. Was an insurance auction vehicle so it only cost my dad 2400 dollars and was in new condition in January of 1997, just one month before my 17th b-day. Great beginner car for a kid. In 1999 I bought a 93' Pontiac Grand AM GT 2dr w/ 2.3litre 4cyl and 5spd. She was pretty fast for a domestic FF 4cyl. I beat my friends' 95 Prelude SI and 1990 Plymouth Laser Turbo up until it's speed governor of 110mph(at 4600rpm and it redlined at 7k!) I was gonna put a chip in and do all this other stuff but then decided I needed to get away from performance and get a 4x4 truck. So in January of 2002 I bought a 1996 Chevrolet Z71 Extra cab for 10k. Was another insurance auction vehicle but was in good condition. Well guess what. A friend of mine introduced me to the world of Initial D two months later and I was HOOKED. I bought the DVD series off e-bay two weeks after that and couldn't go a day without watching Takumi drift the mountain passes. At first I thought about getting an 86, but then decided the Sil-Eighty was the way to go. This January I saved up and bought a 1990 240sx Hatchback w/ auto and sunroof and have put my truck up for sale. I'm going to use the 90 Hatch as a daily driver until I find a stripped Hatch to do the RB25DET and Silvia front end swap :) I love RWD and Nissan power and can't imagine life without it now. Sure the SOHC is slow with the auto, but the car handles so beautifully with 200k miles on the car. Hopefully you guys will see pics of my Skyline powered Sil-eighty this summer :) Rock on guys!

P.S. Sorry this post was so long I tend to get descriptive.

In 94 I bought a 91 red 240sx se. Withing the year I ordered a Stillen Intake and UR pulley. Years later I completely refurbished the car. New paint perf mods, custom interior. Totalled it the week i paid it off.

Bought a 90 240sx auto and never finished it. Sold it to the guy that owns American racing wheels for $1000

In 2000 nI bought a 90 300zx.

In 2001 I paid $100 for my 90 240sx and completely restored it.

1st car and still have a 96 eclipse gst, w/intake, upper intercooler w/greddy type-s blow-off, archer racing 2.5in downpipe and 80mm tanabe racing medalion. got the car in may02.

it's been ok, DAMN FAST, but had a few problems, most expensive was the head. new timing belt cam off, and bent the valves. got a new head for 100 bucks, sent to machine shop, and installed with belts and the works for about a grand that I wasn't ready to pay. it's running like a champ now, and losing 100whp is gonna hurt. but I want rwd, and the rx-7 is too expensive- don't have an extra 3k for a new motor when it goes:confused:

all of you guys all say you love the 240's and the s14's look damn good, I need something reliable so I think I'll give it a try. sorry for the long post, I'm off to crush a new si that's been talkin' ****. principles, you know......

I was thinking about getting a GSX originally. Before Initial D came out. Then it came out, and I started realizing what other type of cars were out there and doing research. AWD is great, but I'd rather have the RWD and a lighter car by 500 lbs to play with :)

how can you say that, I love this 89 fastback, but my 88z is my pride and joy. I would do anything for that little car. not to mention you don't have to see a z31 end up looking like this http://www.anti-rice.com/rice5/car1.jpg j/k but still the don't say a z31 is a mistake, Adam88ss made his a monster. In case your wondering this is BlazzinZ88na from z31.com

My family used to have a Westfalia. Nice faded brown/orange color. We took it camping since it had the pop-up top and cupboards and a sink and all, it was awesome. Those were before my driving days though. At home all I drive is the 1990 Mazda MPV minivan, and I am working on getting my very first car since I have been at college for a while and am tired of sitting around on campus the past 2 years...

Right now it looks like that car will be a '91-96 240sx depending on what I can find :)

Hmmm, my first car was a 96 honda accord 4 door, then was a 87 honda accord 4 door, but both of those were my brothers . .and by that time I was into the whole honda thing . .so bought myself a 95 prelude v-tec . .which rocks and is one of the best honda's ever . . and then when i realized the power potential and beauty of nissan's . .I fell in love all over again with the s13, first i got a rusty coupe and had to return it . .and now i have a red hatch back with a few emissions problems . ..

love it to death tho

My 92 S13 coupe is the 6th car that I've owned. The first was a 1987 Mitsubishi Starion ESi-R (2.5L turbo). The next three were Datsun 510's. I consider the 240SX to be an excellent blend of the previous vehicles I've driven. With the SR20DET going in, it will have the turbo charged goodness of the Mitsubishi, and the racing heritage of Nissan.

My first car was an '82 toyota cressida. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have let it go so easily (city towed it away) then it was a '91 integra. It was with this car that I caught the bug. I swapped in a B16a but ended up selling it when the maintanance costs got too high to keep it. I had been driving a Mazda 626 until recently when I got my '90 240 hatch.
