Well, my 1990 240SX SE Fastback was, and is, my first car. Bought it November 15, 2002, consumed many, many quarts of oil until January 28, 2003, when the engine died on my way to school. Got it back 2 weeks later with a newly rebuilt KA24E, and $3300 out of my pocket, and has been running fine ever since. :-)
Getting to the point of that being my first car was an interesting experience. ;-) Being a subscriber (and actually reading) Motor Trend since 3rd grade kinda turned me into an enthusiast. But for some reason, I wanted a Prelude (with the VTEC man!). Looked at a 1993, well-maintained, looked like **** though (paint really faded), and it had 153,000 miles on it. Passed on that, and it wasn't long before I realized I wanted a "proper" sports car. Looked at MR2's (too rare, hard to find without being beaten, high insurance costs), 300ZX's (little expensive, like that matters considering I have $5000 into my 240, and my dad had one, which meant I wasn't to have one), and then was the compromise of the 240. Wasn't that fond of the car at first, to be perfectly honest, but it quickly grew on me with its terrific handling, good looks, and relative practicality. Great car. If only it weren't for that damn timing chain cover that the timing chain wore a hole through, and allowed coolant into the block, and on the bearings, and killed my engine, not to mention the bad piston rings. Sorry for the rant.
