first car, a 97 mazda truck 2300. Traded that to get my civic ex, 97. I had the b16 motor in it, all those extra bolts on...blah blah blah, and 75 shot of zex. 13.5 in 1/4 mile. Someone stole it one night, now I have a fricking 91 rust out corolla. 96 240sx will be my next car, which I'm getting.

I am 16 years old and my first car was and still is my 91' 240 SX Hatchback. I got this car on May 29'th at 5:00 PM. On May 30th 5:30 PM it was totaled. I went to a junk yard and bought a shell. The swapped everything but the back end (which was the totaled part). Now its done getting rebuilt and its time for the paint job and mods. By the way. I knew about Hondas that had mods on them but I never really got into it. But, since I have got my 240. I try to get all the info I can get and love it.

My first car was a 1997 civic, my dad bought it when it was new and handed it down to me when I graduated high school so that I'd be able to go to college. I put about 6 grand into it, I was saving like 2k for a H22A swap last year. One day I was visiting my friend who works at a car dealership here, and I saw my 240 which they were gonna donate or get rid of, something like that. I'd never seen one of them before, and I asked him what the deal with it was, he said it had been sitting on the lot for a few months and no one showed any interest into it because it needed some work and because it was "old". Anyways, I figured another car would be a good idea, because I was putting like 300 miles a week on my civic from going back and for to school, so maybe I could use this as a commuter car (think of the irony, I have a civic, and I wanted to use my 240 as the commuter car). The first time I drove the car it felt like crap, most of the bushings were severly worn out, brakes were kinda weak, messed up fuel system, leaky head gasket, rusted out exhaust, looked like **** on the outside, it was too ghetto for my taste. But after fixing up all these things (of course this had to happen before I realized that there aftermarket equivalents of these parts), I was absolutely smitten. Now she's my moneypit, I'd never give that car up. sorry this post was so long, I just had to tell someone.

My first was the SH*TTIEST truck ever - a 1984 Mazda B2000. Had that only a few months until my parents got a '90 acura integra. Boy, that really was a fun car. Beautiful manual transmission, and the whole console was pointed toward teh driver. Very cool. Had that about 8 months until my Dad bought my mom a 2001 BMW 330ci (yeah, i know i know). Mom loved the 240 so much, she told me to sell my 'teg and give me what I got for it to pay for the 240. I payed $3,600 for a '93 coupe in pristene condition with a meager 50k miles.

:)

I lucked out. Now, a year, an intake, a lowering job, and exhaust, and one accident later, its approaching 72k miles. Boy do I drive so very much. And boy do I love it so much.

Nick.

first car was '85 ford tempo and i drove that all through high school. then i got a '93 F-150 4x4 cause i was goin to snow country, but the engine decided to blow all its rings, so i got rid of it after a year and got an '88 F-150 and drove that for 3 years til i got rear-ended (yes!), then i used the insurance money to get my '91 fastback cause that's what i'd been wanting for about 2 years. can't say i hated the '88 F-150 though. FR and that got me hooked. really stiff suspension on those things too.

my first car was a 94 Camaro...i was into domestics at that time. it just so happened that i blew my motor up. i wanted an acura integra gs-r, and i had no car to drive. i didn't know much about the 240sx (much less u never see s14s). i had no clue what the hell is was, but i ended up test driving it for 3 days while they looked for me a gs-r. on the third day, they found me a 98 gs-r leather interior everythign i wanted...but by then i had fallen in love with my 95 240. how's that for a sob story. hehe.~Scott

Well my first car was an 89 dodge shadow with a turbo v-6. really fun car until I cracked the block and, because of parental concerns, had to replace it with the stock 2.4L 4cyl ;( That car was so much fun though, hit a guard rail going about 55 and didn't do jack except put a small dent in the passenger side fender. The thing was always breaking down with a big black racing stripe and color-change powder coated rims, not to mention the el cheapo underglow and interior neons that I had. That thing was the apex of rice :D

of course then I bought the 240 and my life go so much better....until I wrecked :(

I started out with a 1995 civic vx. I drove it to school for one year and got mixed up with the import scene. Then I thought I need to swap my engine because with 92 hp the car couldn't even get out of its own way, lol. Then I bought a 1995 civic ex then was saving to swap my engine, lost my job, high insurance, car payment and etc. Then I my friends brother started to show me pics of his 180sx in japan and car stories. I found a 1992 240sx SE for 1400. I bought it and love it so far. I still love hondas but you can't beat a rear wheel drive car. Thanks for listening.

i had a 84 cavalier hatchback type 10... 400$ an it ran for 3yrs. had a broken steering column that would lock on me if i didnt duct tape the key forwards... few scary times due to it !!. the water pump busted an i would have to dump a gallon o water in it jst to drive somewhere, then the PS belt broke an i thought the coulmn gave out so we proceeded to beat the shi t out of her an junked it i loved that car it performed decen for a 2.0 sohc chevy.. then i got ,and i dont really count this cause i didnt want it, my mom told me i need a better car so she gets me a 86 merury, not ford escort, a mercury lynx i think... well it was a 300$ POS, i still drove my cavalier an she *****ed so i sold the 86lynx for 200$ to spite her.. then i finnaly got my 90 auto 240, i got it in feb 2000and i just bought my Ca18det in dec2002. the KA is about to die an im making enough to have a project car... after the 240 is coming along im going to seek out another 84 caviler hatch maybe a z24 this time and then im going to do it a favor an put in a fwd Sr20det or a AWD/fwd Ca18det.

My first car was an 88 CRX Si, then i got a 1990 Miata, then a 2002 WRX. I got rid of my WRX and looked around for a while and finally found a clean 93 240sx hatchback with no sunroof, manual windows, manual locks, manual mirrors, no cruise control, no abs, no hicas, no bull****. I would own any of my previous cars again but the one I miss the most is the CRX. Even to this day, with a stock motor, a decent set of tires and koni shocks, it is the most fun car I have ever driven. That will change when I get started on the 240sx.

I've had way too many cars to count. The 240 will be the first to stay and be modded. Well, unless I pick up 2 more tomorrow and keep one of those.

First: When I was 16 I inheritted the family Toyota Pickup. 89 Xtra Cab, 2WD, 2.2 Liter, 22RE five-speed. I got the truck with 225,000, original powerplant, original transmission, never had any repairs except for changing the oil and one radiator. I proceeded to put another 25,000 miles on my baby with slight upgrades like a better set of shocks, a bedliner, etc. Seeking more power than the sub-100hp 22RE could give me, and being ultra loyal to toyota, I bought a.........

1989 Toyota Supra Turbo. Man was that thing sweet. 7MGTE 3.0L inline six, RWD with all the goodies, luxury package, targa top, five speed, and did it ever look cool. Bought it with 200,000 on the ODO (stupid stupid move, but I had some real faith in 89 toyotas). Shortly after purchasing I found a severely blown head gasket, and a turbo that was very much shot to s***. After taking the head off I found it was cracked beyond repair, and after estimating a new head and machine work, and a new turbo, I was flat out priced out of my 17 year old high school life. I sadly gave her up for less than I paid for her. I do hold animosity towards the 7MGTE engine, but would take another in a heartbeat.......

NOW I own a 92 S13 fastback. After returning to the pickup for awhile, the 240 felt like a go-machine. I had never experienced anything like this before, my truck had HORRIBLE weight distribution, and the Supra was a real boat to haul around. My future plans involve a KA24DET for just about 275HP. As for now my beautiful white sports car serves to haul me to and from college, and has apparently done so faithfully for more than a decade. The first owner bought it to commute here to UT and back for 5 years. The next owner bought it to commute to UT and back for 5 years. And now I am using it to commute to UT and back for 5 years. I couldn't be happier with the car, and I'm sure I'll be saying that thrice over with the incredible power of a KAT.

My first car was a 1994 Mazda Protege. I really liked that car (for a "first car", anyway). With Gtech I clocked it 0-60 in 9.0 sec. Not bad for a SOHC 1.8L with 110 hp or so. Then someone backed into me. I got a 92 saturn for a week, hated it. It was falling apart with 110k miles on it. Then I got another 94 protege, this one with the DOHC 1.8. Still rips the tires into 2nd gear, even w/o power shifting! (My dad has it now) My introduction to the 240SX was when an upperclassman was given one for his 16th b-day. I didn't know much about it, but I know he really liked it. I was always a die-hard mustang enthusiast though. Then my brother bought a 91 fastback, and he started talking to me a lot about it, and how it was really a great car. I wasn't really looking for a new car...I was happy with my protege. But then I came across a 93 fastback. I test drove it, and it was love at first sight (even though I am adamant that there is no such thing :-p ) I bought it for $2000, and tho I have had to pay for some costly repairs, I've never regretted buying it! Long live the 240!!!!

My first car was a 1988 Pontiac firebird. The car was a beautiful Blue , paid 1100. Although the car was beautiful it had too many problems. Within owning it for a year I had put way more than I paid for it. I have always been a fan of RWD two door sports cars, and when time came to looking for a new car, I was considering a mustang or camaro. I came across a beautiful red 95 240, selling for 5000. I had never seen this car before so I took it for a test drive and absolutely loved it. Needless to say, I bought it and I can't be happier. I would hate to part with it, as I could see keeping it for years to come, but I may be moving to San Fran. to go to school, and I don't think I can afford to keep it around. Hopefully if I sell it, it will be to someone that will love it as much as I have.

I started with a 93 mustang and I had it for about 5 years before it finally bit the dust... I was in search of a new car... I have a lot of friends who drive hondas and all that noise.... so I checked out a few things like a CRX.... but I just don't like FWD.... then I came across a 240.... it was a 93... I drove it and fell in love within the first 15 seconds of driving it. This car had black racing stripes down the center, big chrome rims, playboy bunny sticker on the head lights, and other random stickers on the car, and no muffler.... I got the car for a steal... the stupid kid had no idea what he had... with all the rice gone.... it is my one and only baby.

Well, my 1990 240SX SE Fastback was, and is, my first car. Bought it November 15, 2002, consumed many, many quarts of oil until January 28, 2003, when the engine died on my way to school. Got it back 2 weeks later with a newly rebuilt KA24E, and $3300 out of my pocket, and has been running fine ever since. :-)

Getting to the point of that being my first car was an interesting experience. ;-) Being a subscriber (and actually reading) Motor Trend since 3rd grade kinda turned me into an enthusiast. But for some reason, I wanted a Prelude (with the VTEC man!). Looked at a 1993, well-maintained, looked like **** though (paint really faded), and it had 153,000 miles on it. Passed on that, and it wasn't long before I realized I wanted a "proper" sports car. Looked at MR2's (too rare, hard to find without being beaten, high insurance costs), 300ZX's (little expensive, like that matters considering I have $5000 into my 240, and my dad had one, which meant I wasn't to have one), and then was the compromise of the 240. Wasn't that fond of the car at first, to be perfectly honest, but it quickly grew on me with its terrific handling, good looks, and relative practicality. Great car. If only it weren't for that damn timing chain cover that the timing chain wore a hole through, and allowed coolant into the block, and on the bearings, and killed my engine, not to mention the bad piston rings. Sorry for the rant.
