I am painting mine tomorrow ....
but i have a question!!! after you wetsanded the last coat of primer.. did you washed or rinsed it off the sanded remains??? before painting the first coat of base???????/ it seems like you painted your car after wet sanding...
No orange peel, a few drips on a some places but nothing major, next I will wet sand with 1000grit and then with 1500grit then a good buffing and that will do the trick, I did use fisheye remover just in case!!LostAndFound wrote:looks good man. I still cant tell is it a greenish or gold color.
anyway, hard to see any detail. How did you manage with orange peel over the whole car, or any drips?
and what kind of clear did you use.
I agree these pictures do suck. I can't get a good image of the overall car. i can't wait til tmrw!!inertiadrft wrote: Trust me!! these pictures suck and dont do my baby justice...I did not imagine the paint job would turnout so well, it does have its imperfections here & there but nothing that cant be fixed with a little wet sanding and a good buffing..... i cant belive it turned out so clean!! but Ill tell you what!! im not doing this sh*t again, way to much work, now I know why a profesional paint job cost so damn much... sorry everyone!! I have been super busy with work that I havent had any time to work on my car or even login..Atown 240 wrote:Nice job,
So how much did everything end up costing you?
Im sure it can be done if you know the basics of paint, but its not the actual painting by its self thats hard, its all the damn work!!about the engine bay, well I had already painted the engine bay and interior before i did the outside, but I sprayed it silver.turbo_dreams wrote:yeah, what they said ^...and hurry, i'm on this post at work, risking my job for nico...and how much was the total? you think a 16 yr old that knows the basics of painting and has a tight budget can do this in his garage? oh and did you take your motor out and paint your engine bay? if so was it worth it and how hard was it?
