I don't see why head studs would matter. It's not really a 'performance' modification... more like a maintenance modification. I certainly won't be cracking on my engine to throw in some studs.

Because I don't want to have to multi-task trash talking I'm gonna close the book on this one... It's JUST me and you now. LOL

Sure someone else might go for the gold but as for this thread... we need it renamed. No wait... Here we go... We take the rules... make a new thread and have it named: WDRacing vs Godchsr???

this could turn epic I cant join in, I so should, I have a 150dollar motor with 212 across the cylinders, loves the boost. But I dont think the fmu would keep up with the fueling

damn guys just curious, I think of head studs as an advantage over stock, no?

If I'm lifting the head that means I'm making really good power So I'll worry about studs then...

I don't consider head studs a performance tool...Do they assist in preventing damage? YesDo they assist in future motor rebuilds? Yes

The ONLY time studs are performance related is if we are talking about Rod studs. The only reason those could possibly be considered performance though is because of weight.

I agree with WD though. If I have to take my head off to replace a gasket then I AM going to be using ARP studs in place of OEM. It only makes logical sense.

Well good news for me... I'm talking with a friend I work with who once built and drove a 9 sec Honda. He will be helping me with the tuning.

Here's his Honda before he sold it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQh8Xw_RjBI

Anyway... That should be helpful

Also I picked my turbo out...

For that much money I'd get a twin scroll turbo. Jesus anything over 1K for a turbo is...well not a good deal for a T3/TO4E that I can get for $450 just because it has a BB cartridge.

Thats like an easy 600 bucks that could buy nitrous your wasting

You're making my job easy

ta ta ta... I only posted a link to 'which' turbo it is... not the price I am paying.

I am picking up that turbo with a new CHRA for $500 shipped.

These come in multipule HP ratings the exact one I am buying is rated at 450-500 HP. So that's perfect for me. Quick spool time and right within my power goals.

On a 2 step launch I should be hitting max boost in good time.

I don't think I'll need any nitrous to beat you. BUT it is possible that I'll need nitrous to get into the 10s.

Oh and BTW... you won't win this comp. I've got it in the bag.

I have the same turbo, aside from the BB center. I loved it when it was installed and the motor had no holes in it

Keep thinking it's in the bag I'll use the 200hp jets if I have to

LOL... if you use 200 jets you're gonna break something.

I'd rather lose than commit motor suicide.

Progressive controlled nitrous FTMFW

200 shot + 18 or so PSI...yeah that's probably to much. But it'll be a hell-of-a-bang!!!

LOL... yeah progressive control can only do so much. Granted I think it 'could' handle the shot but not easily.

I guess with progressive control the rods will be fine but I still think without serious enginemanagement running that level of nitrous power is dangerou.. especially without direct port injection.

Anyway.. to fire back at you though: If you spend all that money on a progressive control you'll be right back up to me on $$$ so far.

BTW you gonna say which turbo you're gonna use?

I live in in the same town that houses Nitrous Express' main headquarters and I know 4 or 5 guys that work there Anything I buy will be used or a R&D model that they unload.

The basic progressive controller is only $450 new, which has all kinds of datalogging, air fuel alarms and the ability to kill nitrous if any parameter is exceeded...like knock for instance.

The turbo I'm using has an internal wastegate...just for a teaser

I originally planned on using an internally wastegated T3 but I couldn't find one within my budget/parameters.

hmmm...

Side note...KC isn't all that far from me. We should run at the same track/same day next year. Like a test & tune session or something. Maybe make it some type of Nico meet.

The competition doesn't have to be the same day...just saying it would be cool to hang out with the guys at the track then grab some beers/burgers later on

KC isn't far??? Where are you at?

We have a mediocre strip here but in Topeka Kansas they have a professional strip at Heartland Park.

Depending on where you live maybe towards you then?

I'm going to talk all this over with Greg, AZHitman. Maybe we can make this a big NICO event. Something where we can all have a track day, do some burgers and have a couple tents set up.

Get a local hotel to sponsor the event etc...blah...all the crap that goes on behind the scenes. We could have a 2 day meet for anyone that's close enough.

Just something I was thinking about last night...

Would be cool to finally meet a bunch of you guys Drink a bunch of beer, work on cars, drive as fast as possible. I know that a bunch of the TX guys will cruise up.

I'll even get a trophy for the winner(s) depending on if we have different races/events.

We think alike... lol I'cve always been the guy at work or church that when there's an 'event' coming up I always do everything I can to make it as awesome as possible! LOL

I am certain there is a Midwest Z Fest annualy. That's when all the 300s, 350s and now 370s show up and race for a weekend... collaboration?

Anyway... Unfortunately today I gotta go to work (suckage... called in)... but that's good for you WD because now you won't have to be reminded about me kickin your @$$ on the track.

Nico's Anual Drag Day? I could organize it every year and it can follow me around the country as we PCS to different bases. I'll work on a game plan and get with the other Nico staff to see what kind of input they have.

Oh no... this will not die out.

I think we are both silently preparing.

I picked up new adjustable springs to change my spring rates.I also picked up spare axles, a spare differential, a spare engine (not yet rebuilt though) and am looking for a spare transmission.

BNot sure if I mentioned it before but I actually have a shop in town who will be doing the complete tuning for me as well. They specialize in turbo drag applications with multiple IFO trophies around the place.

I'm being a douche... I'm just glad that I'm gonna get a major assist on the tuning.

Other than that piece of the puzzle I will be completing the full build this Fall/Winter in my garage. That includes but is not limited to the turbo system... be prepared for full writeups on a custom Driver-only Rollcage and custom Adjustable Traction Arms.

I am suppose to be looking another vehicle to purchase since my brother is driving the G20 right now. (Wife drives the I30) So once another car is purchased this project will expedentially move quicker and quicker.
