What sort of RWHP numbers are we hoping for...

250RWHP= 320 crank

260RWHP= 333 crank

270RWHP= 346 crank

what are you guessing?

dyno numbers will be done sometime next week or after the 4th

it was a long wait but so far initial impressions are great....going up to WestPalm tonight (60 miles) so I will be running the Q pretty hard to get a real feel for the difference in power.

I hope with the 4.08 JWT and headers/exhaust we can get low 14s or possibly crack 13s

As my luck would have it....one of my mods did not workout exactly right. The ever so difficult for me to get 4.08 mod has slipped through my hands again. Somehow the guy who built my 4.08 forgot to put in a 4.08 gear!!! I still have the same 3.54 gearing ratio as before as my speedo is correct and shift points are all the same....90mph 2-3 shift....135mph 3-4 shift and so forth. Also I don't have any tire burning peel outs from stops as everybody else does with the 4.08. I still have my one full wheel spin and thats it. I can't believe it as this was my very first mod that I started on my car and now it looks like it will end up being my last mod. I am calling the guy Monday to get things straightened out.

Well since the 4.08 failed....I am able to more independently evaluate the headers and I have to say that they are pretty damn impressive as once you get above 3,000 rpms....the car just plain hauls a$$ like never before and from 70mph....forget about it as the damn thing just goes and goes and goes....all the way up to 145mph...have not gone any faster yet....need to check tires & pressure.

The car is not running rich either which is great...I got 21mpg on the way back down from WestPalm tonight cruising at about 80mph all the way for 60 miles.

I found my first victim tonight....a nicely setup Impalla SS on the freeway up to WestPalm. I cruised past the guy and all of a sudden he races up behind me so I move over and he floors it....it caught me off guard and I punched it right as his rear bumper was with my front bumper and the next thing you know I caught up with him and then pulled on him until we hit 135mph....slowed for traffic to 110mph and then the guy wanted some more so off we went and I came right up along side him from following him and he finally had enough....the look on his face when I pulled along side him at 130mph was priceless. There is no way my car would have even had a chance with this guy before the headers...now with the headers it is a whole different ball game and may the game begin becuase I am hungry for a few fresh kills.

Todd (1qsker) is down here in Miami now and we plan to have a little video camera fun on Monday after work and will post the clips soon.

Whenever I do get this 4.08 mod the car will be a real beast and reclaim its heavyweight title status for the best of the best freeway runners.

My butt dyno tells me that this mod is much more powerful than the JWT chip...maybe about double the JWT so somewhere around 35-40hp?? Don't know and only the dyno will tell. If so then this would back up Ash's headers HP numbers as well.

I am going to attempt a 1/4 track run on Wednesday night weather permitting.

BTW....I did not race the shop owners Impalla SS....he has some sort of Linginfelter heads/intake/etc setup and runs the 1/4 in low 13's.

Damn, I hope my car has the 4.08.. I will have to go through the same guy you did for the 4.08, if it doesn't!

I now wish they had drag tests from 70mph to 140mph as the car is so much fun now at those speeds

Do the dynamometer tests any way for a base to see what your real gains are from the headers. Then discover what the heck happened with the rear end.

Hey Rob.........

I'll meet you at Moroso Wed. night..........I work in Broward, so I'll just head North instead. You can use my stock 96Q as a comparison.

Sorry about the 4.08, I'm sure you'll get it right.

Let me know the times ......maybe we'll get together earlier.

Hey Fastlane....

Wednesday night it is!!!! Moroso opens around 8-9pm and runs till 11-12. We should get 3 runs in easily. Call me on my cell at 305-790-1475 as I will be calling Moroso Wed to make sure that they are open pending weather as last time I drove up there only to find out that they were closed becuase it had rained.

Gtech???? I don't have a road really where I can run 1/4 times easily as I live on the beach. I would have to drive about 1 hr West to the Everglades to find a good clean road to do some test runs.

I am really looking forward to some 1/4 times. The 4.08 is a real sore spot right now!!! But I will prevail in getting this mod done.

Rob, got your call! Sad to hear about the diff, but I'm ecstatic to hear about the headers! Hopefully they'll prove themselves to be well worth the time when you get on the dyno and hit up the strip. The JWT makes about 24hp, so I wouldn't doubt these headers making 50+ :D . Exhaust + headers 65hp or more?! Not too bad If Greg can have them both remade for around $1500. That'll make for a great base for further mods without a doubt... I can't wait til you get your Q's exterior looking back up to shape! Do you have a digital camera Rob? If not, I'll send you a nice 2MP Fuji... I've got a second... no point in having two! I'm sure we could all do with some pics of your car :) .

Single biggest mod in over a decade, without a doubt.. So excited for a pair of my own!!

Q45tech pointed out a dyno of a 92 that showd 298 crank HP on a stock 92...

Hopefully we can get 350 crank hp???

that would be astonishing

I am meeting Todd (1qsker?) tomorrow night around 8pm in Ft. Lauderdale for some video taping and Q'ing stuff. I will post the video shortly afterwards.

Fastlane....if you want to meet Todd and I tomorrow night as well around 8pm that would be great. Todd is at I595 & US1. We are going to do a few top end runs and video tape it to see what I got.

I might just do the dyno on Thursday to see what numbers I have as I am really thinking that I am getting about 50% more if not 100% more than the JWT ECU.

a little late night fun for me and you all.....I ran into a cop so could not do any more runs, but this is just a start for what is instore tomorrow with 1qskers (Todd) as we will definetly have some good videos

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....a.asf

and for comparison you can see Todds (1qskers) 135mph run...

http://q.spilky.com/q45at135.wmv

I estimate the time to be about 12 secs 90-130 for me and about 14 secs for Todd's car.

Also the time it takes to cover 5,000rpm to 6,000rpm is about 6sec for my car and 8 sec for Todds.

either way when you watch the two videos....you can definitely see a big difference when each are watched back to back

I can't wait to get some dyno numbers on this beast...I must be putting down some good HP # as I keep watching the two videos over & over & over again and the difference (to me) is amazing the acceleration rates

Rob.........I'd like to get together tonight but I won't be finished until 9:30. I'm not far from you guys (595 & Pine Island rd.) If you are looking for a good road, check out SR27.....Head west on 595, past I75 to Miami, before you get to Alligator Alley (everglades country)turn off towards Hialeah on SR27. It's very long and straight, I often come up this way from Krome, and when I do I always touch 120-130 (this morning)........I'll call you.

thanks for the tip on where to stretch the cars legs and get some high speed runs taped....I will be sure the check it out tonight as I don't know of any places except the Julia Tuttle Causeway (40th Street) over to the beach where we have about 3 miles after the bridge of pure flat wide open 6 lane highway separated by the guard rail to prevent any cops getting me from going the opposite way....this is about 2 miles away from my house and on my way to work everyday....so far I have a pretty good record of hitting over 100mph everytime over the causeway, but somtimes there is just too much traffic to let it rip as I only do it when there are no other cars immediately close by

I look forward to your phone call

I have a Dyno appointment set for Friday afternoon.

Why don't you do it at 8 AM and gain 3%.........remember we want some uncorrected data curves.

Funky error prone generous reading Dynojet or real Mustang Dyno? With proper eddy load .

"The drum on the dynojets weighs less than our cars. So when tuning the air-fuel ratio & timing, it doesn't properly load the car. Thus it doesn't give the most accurate results for the street. Cars tuned on the ragged edge will ping on the street. Also, once the drum on the dynojet starts rolling not as much power is needed to keep it going. Tune on an eddy dyno, and use a dynojet for bragging rights"

The dynojet probably will read close to 10% more HP.

Never seen a real engine dyno test on a Q45 motor "298 crank hp"..........everything is someones wishful transmutation of rwhp!

I like the just add 55 HP to mustang rwhp ~~flywheel HP maybe
