Well folks, today was a good day but with a bad ending, here we go!
Today was the day of install. First was to pull the rear caliper brackets and hit them with some VHT:
Then it was time to get down to business:
Things went quite smoothly, the lines and calipers all went in just fine.
Everything looks awesome.
So then, me and a friend went on to the bleeding portion. The driver's rear banjo bolt was a bit sketcky going in but tightened up. It leaked like crazy once fluid began pumping. I loosened it and tightened it back down and got all the brakes bled. It then started leaking AGAIN. So I tried tightening it a bit more and felt it was about to strip. I brought the bolt back out to find metal shavings all over it. I guess my re-manned caliper was a dud and the threads were messed up. It also ruined my banjo bolt. I was so stoked for a test drive too

. I tried to re-tap the bolt and the hole just to get the car on the road but it wouldn't tighten up.
So, I ordered a replacement caliper from work which will be in tomorrow. Nissan will have a new banjo bolt for me on Friday. I will paint tomorrow then install Friday night after work. Until then the car hangs out on jack stands. I'm so frustrated but these kind of things do happen. Whats rather funny is that I have never swapped out a caliper for being defective at work, never! Thats the main reason I even bought them because normally I do dealer only stuff. But anyways I will update on how all the new parts perform once everything is all set. Until then, stay classy Nico
