I must say I really am freaking amazed by the results of this poll.

I was expecting 22-24 to be the highest, THEN 25-27 and 19-21 to be tied in 2nd.

This is shocking.

How can i figure out my gas mileage. on my 91 240 i filled up now im down to 3/4 of a tank and i have driven almost 200 miles. Is that good. I figure i should be able to get to san antonio and back on one tank doesnt seem like it would happen.

just divide how many miles you went by the amount of gas you used...

I will get about the same in a 3/4 tank, but then all the sudden it just starts going down like crazy.. the most i've gotten is about 450 miles on a tank.

When I drive normally, I get around 30. I noticed that what improved my mileage the most was weight reduction (A/C, backseats and seatbelts, everything from the hatch, etc... plus, when I bought my car, it had huge homemade wooden 15" subs and an amp in it).

so not meaning to go off topic and all, but why is it that the KA SOHC has the crappiest gas mileage ever??? i think the only reason im kinda pissed is cause i just gassed up and well im just glad im putting in regular otherwise i'd be pissing myself...

oh and another question, the other posts earlier werent very detailed, but as for the SR, what kind of MPG does it get?? (redtop)

my car hated 87, she would eat it up, and i would drive her "spiritedly" daily, long morning backroad drives to school were more than enitcing. same way home too. she would last for ever on 93 though...ive gotten something like 450 miles out of one tank a few times. drove to my grandparents and back (230 miles) on one tank. i couldnt tell you the mpg cause that flucuated alot because of my driving. i sure do miss it though.

My biggest help to my mileage was putting on an electric fan. I got 3 - 6 mpg off of that alone, as well as better throttle response. Others who have done this did this help your mileage too?

I get 27 suburb, 42 highway. When I drive aroun d townm, I never use 3 or 4 (unless it's the cruzing gear). If I'm acceling to 55 I rev it to 6 in second and go to 5 about 52mph.

And I have a SINGLE CAM! Tune your car up! Rebuild your injerctors (like $25 each)!

Nope. Amazing what a -12% correction at 3k will do for your highway mileage.

you'll get the best gas mileage using what the car was designed to use. and i don't think it's regular. fyi, i just paid for 93 @ $3.31/gallon.

S14 Zenki with 170,000+ miles with I/H/E Cams, Tuned ECU, and P/P head I get roughly 390-430 miles per tank depending on my driving habits. Which when calculated on the high side (430) is about 25mpg.

Man I get like 15-18 mpg while full throttle tuning my ecu. Before I started playing with my ecu I was getting like 30mpg mixxed with a sohc ka. KEEP the foot out of the gas help the most. I dont . I'll try an easy week, lol, I'll be using 93 from the bp or shell. (bp is amoco) So clear so clean.

I average 24 mpg(70%C & 30%H). My lowest is 19mpg and highest is my average of 24 mpg. I fill it up around after 300/tank.

I run the highest octane around here, 91 Chevron and advaned timing around 15 degrees. It has a CAI intake and cat-back.

I might take it for a drive on the highway for 3 hours straight tomorrow. I'm going to try to cruise at 65-70mph and 70-75 running up hills to prevent a downshift. I predict a 28mpg tank, hopefully higher.

1991 240sx. Never better than 22 miles/gallon. City driving would be around 15 miles/gallon. The government rating is 22/28 when the car was new so if you claim better than that you are lying.

I have figured out that if I use a 1/4 tank and get 100 miles on it I've gotten 28mpg. A full tank for me (f to e) is 14.5 gal. So 400/14.5 = 27.58 mpg

I've been driving rediculously lately, so I've gone down to 75-80 miles on a 1/4 tank so that is ~ 21 mpg.

When I used to drive like a granny on the daily, I usually get 115 to 120 miles on a 1/4 tank. so that's ~ 31 mpg.

Usually I get 27 or so. I used to book my fuel efficiency for over 6 months straight I only filled it all the way, and read the amount of gas compaired to the mileage. I got the same readings. 100mile/quarter tank (3.625gal)= 27.5 mpg. So I know it's accurate, and the numbers don't lie.

You just gotta know how to drive it right to get mileage. Let the motor drive the car, not your gas pedal.

I still out run most 4cyls, and I blow solid BAM flames now instead of the wafting 3 footers i used to blow :-D. Oh btw I'm running a KA24E, rb20 injectors and fpr, injen intake, custom catless exhaust and the SAFC II. Other than that bone stock.
Thats pretty retarded if it blows flames, fix that.
