Since I have not played GT5, I wont vote. I'm sure it wont stop everyone else from casting their opinion though.

I'll say the same thing as I have only played Forza (which I absolutely love). Although if the GT4 physics are anything to go by then I probably won't like it.

As much as I love Forza 2, there is just something about the Gran Turismo series that pulls me in more. I played Forza solid for a few months, but nothing has ever pulled me in quite like GT4. I played that for months and months on end, and still do play it almost as much as I play Forza 2.

I haven't played Forza 2 yet (though the looks and specs of it give me wood), so I'll reserve judgment until I do. The same for GT5, though I have completely enjoyed the previous installments of that. These are good times to be a fan of racing games.

i've always been a gt addict, the amount of cars and customization is awesome, but i agree that the physics are flawed. IMO gt is a hardcore simulation, not exactly an easy game to just pick up and play. forza on the other hand (i've only played the first one) was a blast, the physics of the cars and how they reacted on the track was phenomenal. and i've heard forza 2 was far better O_o haha, forza was a great simulation that almost anybody can pick up and be decent at, but it does take mastery to be great at it. it has a much easier learning curve. i have high hopes for GT5 that it will be able to match that. other wise it looks like i'll just end up buying it and only playing it a little because i cant get past the freaking license tests again... lol

GT FTW. Forza is good, but it just feels like it has no.........heart. it's a really deep game, physics are good, graphics are good... it's just honestly not that fun lol.

I'm willing to bet GT Prologue will be better than Forza haha

How do you figure? Every video i've seen of it looks like GT4 with better graphics and online multiplayer, no voice chat though.

I personally like forza more because the fact that you can damage your car on turn 5 while racing a fully tuned supra in your little 240 is amazing.Just that risk factor is what makes it so much fun.GT5 feels to me like it is a tiny bit more of a museum then a on the edge racer.Just my opinion as i really need to play GT5 to really put a strong input on this.Other then that keep on gaming!

GT5, because 20hp 1970's Japanese microcars rule and without them a driving game is nothing.

Forza won't have Daihatsu Midgets. 'Nuff said.

I'm a big fan of both the GT and Forza Series so this is a hard one for me. if GT5 had as much customization as forza 2 then i'll be all over it.

I have always been a Gran Turismo fan, I finally jumped into Forza 2 months ago. Mainly becasue of all the posts in here. I like Forza 2, the concentration needed to finish a long race is there, because if you mess up on the last turn and crash bad, youre' SOL. I never thought I would like damage, but i do now. I do miss the Gran Turismo series' night and rain stages. I am still spendin some quality time w/ Forza. I cant wait to see the final build of GT5.

p.s. stop betting on my cars in the Auctions!!!

I like (played like 10 minutes) Forza because theirs damage, you can swap cars, more MODERN japanese cars, info it gives while driving.

Ive always been a die hard for GT3/4. I like GT because I love the driving physics, photos!!, I ve made some really good ones, and just the passion of playing it.

I wish GT had a paintstation, could use more aerodynamic features besides 9 foot wings, TIRES OF F1 CARS!!!, how are you ganna have a racing game w/o ferrarri or lamborghini?, and some other little things, but, its all good, hope they can improve in 5.

BTW, I like that choice they made for the cover

Most people that say one or the other haven't played both so instead of a Versus the poll is more of a I have this one or I have this one. Having played and owned both they are strikingly similar as far as driving mechanics and the nature of specific cars. However, Forza shines far and above Gran Turismo when it comes to the ability to subtly tune cars, tire wear and tire dynamics, and the AI. It's also my belief that a "sim" can't rightly call itself such if you can crash into a wall at 150 and still drive your car away. In today's world not having damage modeling and not having the modeling making a real time effect on car performance makes no sense. I think GT5 is supposed to have it but fail for missing it the last 4 interations.

yeah, damage is nice to have. Thats another thing about GT, the AI. They would never move out of your way when your the faster car, they can push you off when its a tight race w/ same car/hp, or wont take the inside/outside line when necessary.

24h races is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too long for a game......thank jebus for B-Spec mode.

BTW redtop, that code under ur avatar looks soo fimiliar...

I have no loyalty to either. They both need serious improvements in terms of available cars. Far too narrow a spectrum of popular cars, and a lot of potentially fun cars get left out. Where are all the big European supersedans? Not in the games, that's where.

Also, if racing games have Civics and Corollas, they should have Maximas. Dammit. I require an 84, a 91 SE, a 94 SE, a 98 SE, a 2001 AE, a 2003 SE, and 2004 SE. Then I'll be happy.

Also, why no GOOD Infinitis? Who cares about the G? I want Qs and Ms and FXs! Why do the big Japanese cars get ignored? 93 Q45t with HICAS and 93 Q45a, please. A 2006 Q45 Sport wouldn't hurt the lineup, either. And then of course a 2003 M45, a 1990 M30, 95 J30.

And where are the classic Skylines? Hello? Yeah, when someone makes a game with a C110 2000 GT-R, let me know.

But they're both way too skewed in favor of common Japanese brands. Do we really need 19 Mitsubishi 3000gt variants? How about we axe some of them (or all, since the 3000gt sucks) and replace them with some cars that are actually interesting?

i wouldnt doubt it one bit that gt5 has a high chance of accomplishing all of that for you, lol. theres going to be so many cars in this game its going to blow even the fourth one out of the water.

Have they said how many cars are in GT5? GT4 was around 600 or so but I really can't see them making 600 cars with full detailed interiors, if they can then........wow I may have to look at a PS3 assuming the rest of the game isn't GT4 with new graphics.

cant remember the last number i heard, but i know for sure its over gt4's numbers. they've been working on this since before gt4 was finished i think, so the sheer amount of work done for the game is mindblowing. i highly doubt its going to be gt4 with better graphics.

Thank you, I was seeing that everyone was missing the whole point. In any GT you buy upgrades for your car right. But thats as far as you go. If some one else with the same car and mods comes along, your equal. With both Forza's, you tune the cars after the mods to make them unique. Gear ratios, tire pressure, ride height, camber, caster, sway bar adjustments, shock adj., brake pressure, downforce, and a lot more. With all the tuneablility of Forza, GT has nothing for me. GT just lacks that "simulation" factor I love about Forza 1 & 2. I would probably like Forza 1 better than GT5.

have you never seen the tuning options in GT? you can tune suspension, gear ratios, downforce, braking, and pretty much everything else. its just as in depth tuning as you can find in forza, you just cant change the look of your car as much

GT5 is still a year out too.

Anyone who says that Forza is more of an arcade game obviously has not played much of it.

That and PD dosen't have much of a track record of hitting release dates, this thread could very well have been called GT5 vs forza 3.
