ive been on the forza forums since '07 and i wanted to share this with you guys from a recent thread on the forums... FYI i dont hate GT5, its a great game and all but since GT5 fanboy's want to nit pick on Forza 3, there have been blows back and forth between gtplanet and forza.net..lolany heres what i wanted to show you.
"Pretty graphics are nice, but these "photo mode" quasi-bullshots don't tell the real story.
GT5 replay shots/videos look about twice as good as the actual game itself....because they run at half the framerate and use the extra power to crank up the special effects. It makes watching replays a lot more visually appealing, but frankly, it doesn't add a whit to the behind-the-wheel experience.
Gratuitously lifted from the PlanetGT thread posted earlier.

Actual GT5 in-game:
Notice the difference?
Again, pretty static images are nice, but ultimately, to quote Shakespeare in Hamlet, "The play's the thing". The most important thing about graphics to me are the ones I see when I'm behind the wheel, trying to figure out if I'm close enough to make a pass attempt on the guy in front of me, or if I should wait for the next opportunity. Oddly, in situations like that, I don't have much time to focus on whether the grass is 2D or 3D. Funny how that works.
Forza 3s graphics may not ulitmately be the "prettiest", but when it comes to gameplay situations like the one above, I know in FM3, my opponent in such a situation will have to calculate whether he can pass safely, because if he just slams into me, he risks doing serious damage to his machine and his chances of winning. I do not yet know if that will be true in GT5. In my mind, in the "versus" war between these two franchises (both of which I have devoted hundreds of hours to playing), it is gameplay, not graphics, will be the "river card" that decides who wins the hand."
Also the GT5 online community isnt as strong as us, i mean we do have the Auction House feaure... which goes with painting liveries, real life and custom.
better luck next time GT Fanboys
