I actually traded Forza in a few days ago because I haven't been playing it. Haven't missed it. It's a fun game, but there's always something else from my library I'd rather play.

I'm definately gonna go with Forza, the realizm might not be as spot on with it but the customization of the cars way surpasses GT anyday.

In an E3 interview with IGN (missed due to all the noise), Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi said, "There's no plans in the works for GT5 yet - that might be 2009, or it might be 2010... But we're totally focused on getting the updates through for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and that's all we're focused on."

So there focused on putting out updates for a glorified demo of GT5 instead of getting the full game released.......................This is living?
I was such a big Sony fanboy, but things like this put me off. So they are concentrating their efforts on the prolouge?

Polyphony....deliver the darn game already!!!oh well...back to Forza 2 I go.

So wait a minute...

What the crap is "Gran Turismo Prologue" if GT5 is AT LEAST a year off? Why not just call this one GT5 and the next one GT6? What the crap is the point of GT5P, then? And why would Digital Polyphony be focusing on updates to it instead of the next "real" game.

Sounds to me like DP is a little confused as to what they're doing and why...as well as what their fans/customers want.

And...

Yeah. Man...I still remember wondering how soon I'd get to play GT4 Mobile when I bought my PSP (on release day in 2005). I'm...still not playing it.

On Tour is fun. I just wish my hands were small enough to use it correctly. I also wish it didn't include that horrible Blink182 song. That song is on the list of the top 5 things that drive me to murder.

that's funny. Because I was going to buy a PSP just for that game. Good thing they did not release it, or I would have bought a PSP. The promise of connectivity between the PS3 and PSP was too good to be true. I guess only Nintendo can master the Console to hand held connectivity.

i've been a GT fan since day one of GT1 but when i played forza 1 i really liked it. i mean there wasnt anywhere near as many cars as GT but i liked the physics better. And when Forza 2 came out i decided to go with that b/c i got a 360 since it was cheaper than the PS3 and i must say Forza 2 has been out for about a year and a half and it is still by far my favorite game.

me playing GT5 with my DFP

http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=pUQ_nEY_jsk

about as close as fun will get besides driving/drifting/racing a real car.

the force feedback is amazing you can feel under/oversteer through the wheel in all. whats mind bottling is...... the physics just keep getting better and better with each update.

when im not at work or racing im on the PSN

i own both FM2 and GT5P. In GT5P's defense its only a demo and shouldnt even be compared to FM2.

When my 360 got the red rings of death, I had to send it in, so I thought it would be a great time to pick up a PS3 and GT5P.

The naviagation and menu was great, the graphics are great, but GT5P is not close to FM2. I would dare say GRID once you put some time into the game is a better overall game than GT5P.

Very disappointed in GT5P, but again I do realize its a demo, and anyone with a brain knows GT5 will be brilliant, but GT5P is lifeless, the online gaming is a mess, the engine and exhaust notes are a total flop. The handling in 3rd person view is a disgrace. The only way to race GT5P is cockpit view.

Again GT5P has beautiful graphics, great replays that are superior to FM2, and GT5P has Gran Turismo tv which is a cool idea but it cost extra.

I dont even want to get started with the PS3 controller and GT5P, for me its terrible, you really need a wheel.

FM2 has a great community in which you will find yourself stuck to both the game and your pc at the same time, looking through the forums for the latest tuning shop releases , numerous tournaments, great online racing, weekly community updates by Turn 10, and podcast as well.

Youve got the auction house, to pick up the lastest tuning shop releases as mentioned before, or turn or even paint your own vehicle and put it up for bid. Youve got tuning that actually changes the cars handling, sweet exhuast and engine notes that mimic their real life counter parts. ok im done!

There is simply to many things great to say about FM2 so I will stop there. Simply put I never take the game out, and my PS3 and GT5P get about as much play time around here as Combat for my Atari 2600... (NONE !)

ive been on the forza forums since '07 and i wanted to share this with you guys from a recent thread on the forums... FYI i dont hate GT5, its a great game and all but since GT5 fanboy's want to nit pick on Forza 3, there have been blows back and forth between gtplanet and forza.net..lolany heres what i wanted to show you.

"Pretty graphics are nice, but these "photo mode" quasi-bullshots don't tell the real story.

GT5 replay shots/videos look about twice as good as the actual game itself....because they run at half the framerate and use the extra power to crank up the special effects. It makes watching replays a lot more visually appealing, but frankly, it doesn't add a whit to the behind-the-wheel experience.

Gratuitously lifted from the PlanetGT thread posted earlier.

GT5 Prologue photo mode:

Actual GT5 in-game:

Notice the difference?

Again, pretty static images are nice, but ultimately, to quote Shakespeare in Hamlet, "The play's the thing". The most important thing about graphics to me are the ones I see when I'm behind the wheel, trying to figure out if I'm close enough to make a pass attempt on the guy in front of me, or if I should wait for the next opportunity. Oddly, in situations like that, I don't have much time to focus on whether the grass is 2D or 3D. Funny how that works.

Forza 3s graphics may not ulitmately be the "prettiest", but when it comes to gameplay situations like the one above, I know in FM3, my opponent in such a situation will have to calculate whether he can pass safely, because if he just slams into me, he risks doing serious damage to his machine and his chances of winning. I do not yet know if that will be true in GT5. In my mind, in the "versus" war between these two franchises (both of which I have devoted hundreds of hours to playing), it is gameplay, not graphics, will be the "river card" that decides who wins the hand."

Also the GT5 online community isnt as strong as us, i mean we do have the Auction House feaure... which goes with painting liveries, real life and custom.

better luck next time GT Fanboys
