Not everyone is as perfect as you.

The answer? Ban swimming pool and visits to the beach. (1000 children ages 0-14 die from drowning each year compared to 900 TOTAL accidental gun deaths for ALL AGES)

If guns were not capable of killing me, then sure I'd be for them... Am I afraid of guns? Yes I am. Am I afraid of the things on your list? No, I choose to do all those things (I only do one of those things on the list, and thats drive, and even then I don't do stupid ****)

Can you explain how you die from a teflon pan please?
Pills,You really need to calm down bro. I was being facetious. As I have stated, the likelihood of you being killed by a firearm is miniscule compared to other methods of death. Unfortunately, we dont get to pick our method of death. My point was to show how this society obsess over the little things and misses the big picture. Do you think that people choose to die in Automobile accidents (5th cause of death in America)? I am sure in the statistics that being killed by a drunk driver is factored.

What would happen if we applied the same logic of gun control to drunk driving? 1. A three-day waiting period to drink alcohol after it is purchased. 2. Back ground checks for all people buying alcohol, if you have a history of alcoholism or drunk driving you are banned from buying. 3. Selective bans in high alcohol content drinks, the so-called "Assault Baccardi 151 Ban." 4. Limits on the container size of alcohol, so that people dont get too drunk. 5. And media and societal denomination of alcohol so that people feel guilty when drinking alcohol in public.

And the comment about Teflon coated pans. My Grandmother use to say that Teflon coated pots and pans called Alzheimer’s disease. I have no clue what causes Alzheimer’s disease. I wish they would find a cure for it.

I personally think that automobiles should be banned. They kill way more people than guns, pollute the environment and waste our fossil fuels. What good do they serve? We can just walk everywhere we need to go.bud

What is exactly your point, that a victim can stop a crime if he has a handgun? Thats excatly what the quote you quoted said, that crime could have been prevented if the Victim had a handgun. Criminals don't just use handguns, they use knives, bats, chains, clubs, and even just their size as weapons against victims. The point keeps getting dodged that a handgun is about as close as it gets to evening the odds against a larger or armed (with a bat, chain, club, etc) attacker. Then again, you'd probably prefer that the victim gives up his possessions peacefully, the woman lie down and open her legs, and the homeowner runs to the neighbors house to wait for police to come secure the scene.

I think that S13Guy was trying to get that point across all along (I would have to go back and check).

But as to his point that "most pro firearm individuals aren't as reasonable as others," I would have to disagree with him. Most citizens that own firearms are pretty reasonable. We all realize that there are some regulations that need to be laid down for the benefit of the common good (keeping firearms out of the hands of children, criminals and the mentally insane). What is unreasonable is the fact that legal firearms owners have to bear the societal demonization of firearm ownership, use and production. This society has also created vague laws that are difficult for firearms owners to follow (and understand) and has created a bureaucracy to discourage/disparage people from purchasing firearms or carrying them. These people only want to protect themselves and their family or continue to practice their sport with in the confines of the law without being attacked from the Media or the Anti-Gun Lobby (anti freedom groups).

What is also unreasonable is the fact that there other (sometimes more) dangerous items in our lives that are quiet capable of killing. Yet, legislation and bans on these products are not pursued with the same ferocity as firearms are pursued.

I give up, if I get murdered... I'm so going to haunt all of you...

Oh, Cold_Zero, I support your alcohol control suggestions. I know you were just being sarcastic, but I wouldn't mind if those types of laws were passed...

Since the probability is so low, if you get murdered by a firearm, you should buy a lottery ticket. Even though you will be dead and lucky, you will also be rich!bud
