Got it out yesterday and drove it about 10 miles. It was running pretty good.I had it rebuilt about 6k miles ago. ;) It needs a good cleaning since it hasnt been driven on the road in about 3 or 4 months.I didnt get on it though :icesangel .I also found out that I might need a new master cyllinder.I need to blead the brakes and see if that helps.(found out the hard way)

Alright, I'll make my triumphant return by posting here. Can we get some love for the tri-power GTO? Obviously the 'Vette's Camaros, 'Cudas and how 'bout the Challenger? Where's the Dodge Demon? Best name for a car ever +it pisses off religious people

I would not call the GT-40 a muscle car. Its more like a supercar.

Question for all you gear heads and Repoman cant answer cause I know he knows the answer to this question. What does COPO stand for and why does it mean?

I'm gonna vote for the Superbird too, but have a soft spot for the Dodge Demon and the Hemi Cuda.

The Superbird looks like the love child of a muscle car and an F-15 Eagle. Homologation is a good thing, even if it's hard to spell! :D

copo was a special ordered car used to get around the weight vs. power rules set up by the govt. a car couldnt have a power to weight ratio greater than like 10hp per 100 lbs or something. so, tada! order them as a special order car with just numbers, and you can get around all the rules. COPO wasnt the only ones though, well, chevy i mean. the big three all had ways around it.

Megaseth is correct. My first link was more what it was, but not "how" it was used.

This one offers a little more of how.http://www.holisticpage.com/ca...o.htm

If you could (or can you) do a true COPO today, it would be a great way to "get around" the de-tuned CAFE version V8's in some cars.

hell yeah. i wish you could still order cars like that. not just V8s, but import cars too. J's garage was selling a civic type R that was race ready. the car had little inside and no A/c, no radio, etc. order a nissan silvia, special coded motor that isnt used much, race prepped interior.

Yeah, i wish they would bring back special order vehicles. Get everything exactly as you want it, and not haveing to get stuck choosing what is on the lot.

Not to stray too far off topic, but I know some of the Asian car companies actually have cars that they don't list as "production" and made/sold/sell only to top level execs. The one that comes to mind was a sweet 2 door version of the Mazda 929.

Anything with a 426 Hemi. I also like the 302 powered 67-69 camaro's.

the 302 Z28's were badass for the smallest motor option.

I think my fav is the Hemi challenger, followed closely by the '69 428 Mach 1 and the 701/2 BB Camaro.

I'm hardcore however so I'd take any musclecar:D
