Didn't say that I didn't know. Just didn't think about it at the time. I saw that I was about to miss my turn and by reflex I just snapped the car around. By this time I had been driving already for awhile and was getting comfortable with the car.

My girlfriend got a new beetle for her birthday and was driving stick pretty well after like a day or two. Was pretty cool I got to teach her, she picked up on it pretty easy though so I don't really have a good story.. :( there was that time though, that we merged onto the freeway an a semi wouldn't move over to the left lane to let us on and she was so busy watching it she almost drove us right over a cliff.. I had to grab the wheel and jerk us back into our lane, she started crying because we were serioulsy just about over the edge, so then I had to steer for like a minute from the passenger seat while she got her self together. Ya fun times.. fun times.

to quote a ghostbuster

RAY:: Okay, I have a plan. I know exactly what to do. Now stay close, stay close. I know. Do exactly as I say. Ready, ready, get her!

I'm going to teach my girlfriend to drive my KAT...after it's broken in well/I get used to it. It'll be downright hysterical to watch the burnouts from her learning to drive that 6 puck unsprung beast...I doubt she'll be able to break it, and even if she does...new trannies are only 150 bucks at the local junkyard. I'll leave the old crappy tires on until she learns though...dont want her tearing up the good ones!

My girlfriend is pretty good at driving stick, but shes not old enough to get her permit yet or anything so we just go out in the country. Only problem is sometimes she keeps the tach at 3k rpms and tries to shift, but anyways its fun, but my poor clutch only has 300 miles on it so far, 200 more to go to break in.

thats how it is with my g/f. She keeps it around 3,000 and shifts and we end up not even moving, but then i correct her and we get going again and then she shifts later, shell get it soon, i have faith.
