HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You all have had a taste of my world! I do internet tech support and am constantly amazed at the stupidity of the general public. When you ask someone to right-click on a icon you would imagine that they would click on it with the right-hand mouse button, right? When they take a sharpe and actually write the word CLICK on the screen over their icon, you know you've got a dumb beyotch on your hands.

It's weird. My little sister has been able to drive a 5 speed since she first sat in the drivers seat. When she got her FC3S it had a blown clutch so we went ahead and replaced it with a clutchmasters stage 1 and she picked it up in under 5 min. Guess I got lucky. She's also into racing and that makes me really proud as her older brother, but alot of guys think it's hot so I'm not too sure how I feel about her racing.

Anyways, if a ho ever tries to get you to teach her to drive your 5-speed there are 5 logical answers you can give her.

1 - Hell no beyotch!2 - Get a 5-speed and then we will3 - Hell no beyotch!4 - Watch me and if you can't pick it up from there, then you don't need to.5 - Hell no beyotch!

I was teaching my 15 year old sister how to drive a stick, and i let her drive my car in a parking lot. This was her very first time in the driverseat. She didnt stall it, she had a fairly good engage, and drove it around a bit in 1st gear. I was impressed. She forgot to depress the clutch when she stopped the car, but all things considered, she did well. I let a friend who sucks at driving stick drive my car at like 2 am the other night, and he drove it really easily and smoothly too. My car must be magic.

I taught one. She was a good student. All the women in my family learned on stick shifts, so I see no difference. I find teenaged boys more difficult to teach than women as boys tend to be more pumped up and come in with the macho "I'm already a good driver" nonsense. Just a humble instructor's view...

oddly enough stick is cheaper in mexico, and i think all women in my family know how to drive stick. As for my s13, it has some hard *** clutch so it was pretty difficult to re-learn stick...I learned in an old beetle and it wasn't as hard. Also, my brother's clutch is so ****ing lose you can't "mishift", so his is easy.

Well, the one girl I taught picked up on it very quickly. Taught her first gear in a parking lot. Then we headed out to a cruising strip in LA(before they banned it). But it's basically bumper to bumper traffic where noone really cares if it actually moves so no pressure. One night of that and she had 1st gear down. The rest came very easy. She does not want an auto transmission now.

i used to have a 86 corolla and let my friend drive it since she wanted to learn stick. So i told her the basics and i think she woulda done fine if she didnt confused the brake and the gas pedal almost running into 3 cars in reverse! "the pedals are so small and looked like each other" wtF??

I taught my older sister how to drive a manual on my dad's 83 Toyota pickup truck. She didn't do too bad...she got it pretty good within an hour or so...a bit bad on first gear and changing gears at first then she got better. The only time the car would die in first gear was if she saw a car coming and she panics  Two weeks later she mastered the art of manual driving and now owns a manual 2000 Prelude SH.

I think that if a person has already been driving automatic then it is harder because they have to brake the habit of not doing **** and get more confused

How true, i let my friend ride my dirtbike (he never even sat in or on anything that had numbers for gears instead of letters) and he just poped the clutch and gave it gas, he popped the clutch like he was just letting go of the break, and no matter how many times i told him to release it slow he would just pop it.

wow.....after reading all these posts..i am scared to even let my girl friends try!

it wasnt bad for me to learn at all though, i never made those noises (shifting gear without engaging the clutch) or anything else, of course i killed the car a couple of times, but that's it.

took me probably like 5 minutes to learn. of course to master it though, takes a while and i am still learning my car, though it's wrecked now, but i know i'll be on the road again with her soon!

HAHAHA!!! :D well it's my fault actually, i was too pre-occupied with other things than to buy some new tires, so as a result, i was in a rain + bald tires accident..didnt hurt it too bad, fixable, drivable, but just that i feel bad... :D

and i dont care if they flame, coz if flaming makes them feel like a bigger/better person than a girl who only has about one month of driving experience (period), and wants to learn more about her car and such, flame away then :D that just shows how much of a gentleperson he/she is..ehe :D
