Put me on the list to notify when you have the '94 model ready. I'll wait for that one. Plus, hopefully I'll have an extra vehicle then so I can just send you the ECU and wait for it.

Wes,

I'd like to reserve a non-TCS ECU for my '91 pls. Let me know how to pay. I will send my core back once it is installed. I also have a spare '91 TCU, do you guys need one to play around for TCU upgrades? BTW, I am looking for the 7200rpm cutoff and 93 octane

Well, I am just waiting until he can do the 1995 cores.

If it is soon, I can swap them as I will only be using one of them for the next month or so.

Prototype boards for the 94-95 ECUs are on order and should be here in about 3 weeks. Assuming they test out OK, I'll be doing those ECUs in a month.

Robert, if you can figure out the Y33, I'm assuming you could do a '96 G50?

I want one if you can do it.

Y33 is a different beast entirely.

It will be expensive if it can be done - the entire processor chip has to be desoldered, and a new one reprogrammed to take its place.

Do you have a spare '96 ECU? I'd need to see one before I could do anything about it.

No spare, but car-part.com has 'em for $125. I'll be glad to pick one up and send it to you, when and if the time comes.

My understanding is that, in addition to the OBDII it's also a 16 bit chip. I'm hoping once you get OBDII figured out, you can just load the G50 map into a '96 ECU.

{EDIT} Remembered after I posted that the 96 doesn't have VVT - probably makes it a unique map - bummer.

Hey Wes

Can you give me a quick description of how to change the ECU in my 1991. Right now I don't even know where it is located?

That's fine, I'll pay now with check or PayPal to help defer expenses. Just let me know.

So, here's a question. Don't the ECU and TCU have to be compatible? What about reprogramming the TCU to accept a higher rpm upshift point so you don't have to hold it in gear?

I'd like to get in on this too. I have a '90 Q45t with no TCS, but it is a California model. Got any of those ECUs laying around???

Wes,

I have a 95 Q w/TCS and Active Control. It currently has a JWT ECU and a JWT TCU.

Just making sure that you still have a chip. It's $20 right?

They do not have to match. There is very minimal communications between them. Shift control is all in the TCU. I may start doing TCUs after I'm done with the 94-95 development stuff.

I think I have one core for that ECU, if not, I will have one in a couple of weeks. CA models are nothing special - I program them with a Federal code to simplify things (it ignores the EGR temp sensor).

Are you flashing the stock EEPROM while still in the OEM ECU?

Or are you using daughterboard replacements?

Yep! Youll just have to send us your ECU because we have to reprogram the chip thats in there... The chip in the 94s are obsolete and we cannot reprogram them.

the latter... just like JWT does.

Wes...I just about a TCS ECU so Robert will be recieving it shortly and I have emailed you.

One quick question....there was mention that the JWT had more aggressive timing maps for the later years 94-95 vs. 90-93 cars. Does Robert's programing due the same or is he going to provide the same timing maps across all years.

I have a 1994 HG50\Q45a with TCS...

What will I be paying, which part needs to be shipped, and how long will it take?

Is the 20.00 cost only for JWT ECU owners?

Thanks...Green
