Guys......please realize there are probably countless CA guys out there that arent on NICO....just something to ponder when wondering why you were sniped or when asking people on here not to bid.

So have we even figured out if this kit actually comes with the S14 cold pipe yet?

I won my auction, paid last night. When it shows up I'll post detailed pics of the pieces and how they orient.

Ok, I got the kit today. Overall impressions, are that it is very well put together. The weld on the IC endtanks and on the piping is very solid. The cold pipe will NOT line up. It is the same as the S13 SR coldpipe. But, you can probably cut it and reweld it and it will fit fine. That, or cut it and use the stock rubber throttle body hose to attach it. Way I look at it, is that it's a VERY minor issue considering the price. The rest of the kit more than makes up for it.... Here is a pic... along with the other goodies I received today

If you don't mind, contact SS and tell them it doesn't fit, even if you are happy with it. Maybe eventually they will redesign it so that it does so those of us without TIG welders (or motivation) can enjoy the kit as well.

im shure if u use the oem rubber coldpipe for temp, do gown to the muffler shop and have that piece coppied then problem solved. then email ssauto and send them the pic of your fab'ed piece and maybe they can do something about thise fmic kits.

Anyone in here in or near Raleigh NC? The guy I know who does work for SSA is willing to create a prototype CA18 cold pipe if there is a local (Raleigh) CA guy who can spare an afternoon for him to look at your engine as it sits in your S13. The only thing is, for him to make an accurate prototype you need to already have a FMIC installed (any brand, but not the volvo-style FMIC setup).

Let me know and I'll give you his contact information through a PM.

thanks,

-Matt

that sounds like a good idea, BUT why did they post up for the auction that is is a ca18det FMIC kit and that it wasnt like all the other sr kits. it was made for CA18det? lol i think they should have already had this figured out seeing that they hav their own base car to build prototype parts. anyhow let me know how this goes because i live in Cali

no s13 coldpipes line up with any fmic kit.. the throttle body is angled different in the ca than it is for the sr. however the s14 for some reason is angled the same as the ca18...

don't hate on the snipers, they just Ebay better than you. Use a bid sniper, takes lots less drama out of ebay, and you get to decide how much you really want to pay hours before hand instead of when your adrenaline starts going and you realize you just paid $87 for an oil filler cap.

I dunno but he's offering to help SSA get it corrected. He mentioned the kit had already been selling in the UK ......maybe the guys there all buy the kits and mod the coldpipe like guys in here are planning....for the price you cant go wrong...but.....I'm too lazy to learn to weld aluminum so I can fix the end peice so I'm hoping we get some takers so a correct peice gets made for the cold pipe.
