Don't worry I won't sell a single one until I can't find a single flaw in it.

No provision for the igniter. I relocated my igniter to the firewall above the intake manifold with the stock wire lengths. Keeps the heat further away and I have plenty of room for a heat sink to attach to it.

Interesting.. do you have any pictures of it posted? (Sorry, not trying to thread-jack.. semi-relevant!)

No, but I can take some tomorrow. It could be useful for people who buy this cover and need to mount their chip somewhere else.

I forgot to say before that the AZhitman (NICO ceo) himself will be the first one to receive this cover for his RB25. I've used this epoxy to make my RB25's turbo intake and put a test sheet next to my wife's exhaust manifold on her DD (s14). Neither has yellowed yet.

Yes, I will have yellow carbon/kevlar, it does darken a bit when you add epoxy and clear coat. Just google "yellow carbon" and check out all the shades it comes out to. All of the colors are a blend of carbon and kevlar in 2x2 twill. The pure carbon (black) is the classic 2x2 twill carbon. I can always ship you one and then if you don't like it just trade for another color. Shipping for these is going to be pretty low. Aside from the long shape, they weigh almost nothing, I can barely even tell I'm holding something when I have the fiberglass mold in my hand...

Also for you guys with the chrome/polished engine setups I might be able to get my hands on some "hexel texalium" which is often referred to as silver carbon.

dang fibre...looks like your getting quite the hits for the cover..should see if you could sell them on Raw and have picture and whatnot of the diff set-ups.

bet these would go out the door like nothing, to people in japan and what not.

I want to get them patented or copyrighted (whichever one it is) so no one else can copy them before I would even think about selling off NICO. If I didn't there would be Ebay and x02 replica's everywhere and all my hard work would be for nothing.Which means for now... Only NICO members get the awesome coil cover! Take the other places!

Also, on the vents, its taking me longer than expected because I have to remake some vents.

Ok, I'm a little hung up on the vents because it's taking me awhile to get them perfect but I got some pictures of the intake and ignitor position.

This is the carbon laminate intake (meaning this is carbon over fiberglass)It reaches 300*+ on a normal running day with the manifold right under it.Made it mostly for testing purposes. No yellowing or warping. Made W/O clear coat to see UV degradation. The same epoxy I'm using for the coil covers.

This one is a picture of the ignitor position for those of use who have the s1 and are going to be using this cover. I did this with the STOCK wires and have more room to spare.(Please don't mind the dirty engine bay and the urethane foam on the valve cover, I know I have to clean it)

After I finish the first one and have an accurate material/time cost.

Still trying to get the vents done but it's raining every few hours here.

Since I'm still having problems getting the vents perfect I'm hurrying up on making another stock coil cover mold to get some fitment tests and pics of all the different colors.

How much would he want for it? 26 cover's are impossible to find at a reasonable price.

i doubt he'd be willing to part with it permanently, but possibly lend it, i'll check with him if you want just a loaner to pull a mold off of?

also jsut out of curiousity, when you fitted the flush vents, did you do it with stock coils or splitfires (not sure it'll matter, just curious)

Stock coils. (You can see them in the picture of the ignitor chip) Split fires are the same size though, I think.

Update!I know it's been a week but I made the first coil cover today. It will be ready to be de-mold at 12pm tomorrow. Pics of said mold and a pic of the Blue/Black carbon/kevlar roll.

I can't wait to see this creation of yours.

If it turns out stellar, I may just have to loan you my 26 cover to make a mold...

1st coil cover came out. Unfortunately the kevlar didn't want to conform to the sharp angles around the bolt holes, front, & rear dip. It's an easy fix, all I'll have to do is tie kevlar strands around the holes after the first layer of carbon/kevlar is on so the material stays there when I apply vacuum pressure. No big deal. With the rear I'm just going to leave a little bit of extra material. That's why I made a test one. Composites wise, this is a pretty normal 1st test piece. Other than that the coil stayed in perfect dimension to the original and was silky smooth with no print through or amine blush. Going to lay another one down today with the new fixes. Also, I'm still working on the vents, made several molds to try and get the shape of the vents perfect. I'm thinking about finding another type of vents that come in a longer strip so I don't have line multiples up.

I want one.... and I don't even have my RB25 in my possession yet.

Maybe you posted it somewhere in here and I missed it but... Where did you buy the carbon fiber/kevlar material at? I've been looking for a cheap place to buy some at to make some random trim and interior pieces out of.

Thanks for the great comments everyone.Just for color. The pic of it on the stool is it in normal light. The first pic is under an absolute white shop light.I would also like to add that the cover I made weighs 3 1/2 grams. About the weight of a spoon or a full AA battery.

As for the supplier, I got my deals. For one off cosmetic overlays Fibreglast & UScomposites are good and reliable starters.

So I test fitted it and it came out perfect, it just needs to be a little higher. The only thing I'm going to do is add a laminate bulker to make it thicker and higher.Either core matt or foam.

A pic of fitment.
