AE86 ... in japanese, you make a multiple digit number by just saying the smaller numbers
like 45 would be said as "four-five"
the japanese, when talking about cars that are referenced by the first few characters of its chasis code, AE86 is an "eight-six" eight is "hatchi", six is "roku" (five is "go")so an AE86 trueno, levin, or corolla is called an hatchi-rokuan AE85 is called a hatchi-go
just hatchi refers to either
a silvia is called an "s ich-san" (s13) one is ich, three is sanfunny thing tho, they call a 180sx a "one-eighty"... and a sil80, they say "sil-eighty"
thats why they call an S15 front on any other car a "strawberry face" because japanese for 15 is "one-five" "ichi-go" and that also means strawberry
not being japanese myself, its just out of habit what i call cars... its what i learned them as (i wasnt really into cars that much before i went to japan...... when driving fast, i feel most comfortable looking at KPH and shifting with my left hand now... muscle memory)
