djmace - yes it will clear the strut tower. it sits lower than the cam covers. price is AUS$650 + delivery, around $US500 + shipping.

If you can get thos varience's closer to stock I'd definatly be intrested. Is this going to eliminate the 2ndary manifold, or just the main plenum and runners?

what would the rough time for the 3rd evolution of the plenum to be ready for shipping?

hopefully within 4-6 weeks. quicker if i have an interested party as they get them cheap due to the no guarantee of being spot on, but better than the previous it will be.

Hope you dont mean me ? Im just some regular bloke building a car in his garage, Im not out to make a fast buck by ripping someone off ! although there are people around that would do this.

Anyway, well done on the results, it sounds like your Mk3 manifold will cost me about £350 (ish) to get one to my door. Would there be a discount if I can get say 10 orders from people in the UK, I will post a link to this thread and see what others say. Otherwise I may aswell make something for £100 ish 'similar' to yours and the pics I sent you of those others I found. I dont intend to be running massive amounts of power and or boost so the potential lack of equal flow in each header I end up with wouldnt have much effect.

Thanks

James

Keep us posted mate

You might want to post on this thread which Jeffers started

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showth...wpost

As you will see there are a few people in the UK that are very interested.

Drop me an email if you need any standard plenums sending over as between us we have quite a few

This one wouldn't work on the UK head as it's not set up for the 4 port head design. If you had a Jap spec head it would work though. He might be able to make one for you UK guys though if you ask him nice!

jeffers, no not you. thanks for the lead on to the sxoc site. i had been there a few months back with no response, but it looks like there is some interest over there.

can you let me know what heads most of you guys use, though i dont see it being a problem making them for either the 4 or 8 port head.

I would say 99/100 people are using UK style 4 port heads (soon to be corrected I imagine). There are a few people that have the jap spec, I guess this would have to be sorted nearer the time. having never seen a Jap one next to a UK one I *believe* the main stumbling block is the stud pattern is different between the two not sure about the intermediate manifold, the ports are also a slightly different shape. I can send any pics and dimensions you may need of the UK spec one unless Jezz_S13 sends some UK headers over you could measure and fabricate them exactly right.

Let me know

James

I looked pretty extensively into the differences between the UK and JDM heads/manifolds. The big problem would be mounts and places for the injectors. Unfortunatly they are differenet enough that he'd have to basically start from scratch with a UK mani since they are so different.

Hi,

I've jsut re-registered as I can't rembember my Jezz_s13 password and the for some reason I never get the emails when I do the 'forgot password' thing.

Anyway, does this plenum replace the injector manifold/header? I thought it jsut replaced the plenum keeping the stock injector header?

If thats the case then I'm pretty sure the 8 and 4 port flange on the plenum is the same, it's only the injector header that's different AFAIK.

Float I'm about to mail you about this dodgy account business.

Oh, had a thought.

ISL33P, if you can scan the flange on the plenum that you are making, I can compare it to whatever bit it is; I can scan the 4 port one also and post it up for all to see.

From an email by Simon Norris (norris designs) :

The actual plenum is the same. The only different bit is the interim section and the head itself.

here is a photos of the 8 port flange.

it seems that the 4 and 8 port are both the same, it is just the section where the injectors fit are different. if so this is good for everyone.

this is made to be a bolt on with the injector section of the inlet remaining.

The information that I had was the the UK intake mani for the 4 port head is a one piece mani while the 8 port is a 2 peice. If I'm wrong on this, please correct me.

NEWS FLASH- i have just found out the shipping costs, prices start out as cheap as AUD$35 per parcel. i thought it was more expensive, but better for you guys. you can have one at your door for around AUD$700.

you can check for each independent country on freight costs link you will see i am not making money on the freight.

ok, i am in the process of sorting the plenums out for a 80mm tb as this is what everyone wants.

terminator - can you please send me a picture of the tb flange showing exactly where the tb bolts are located, including measurements for the bolts and the flange itself.

At the moment the only pics I have are what's no the ebay link in my post..but I'll pass this on to someone who might be able to help.

just got this back from Simon Norris hope it helps you...

80mm Q45 Throttle body flange is 102mm square OD with a 83mm hole in thecentre. Thickness should be approx 10-12mm to ensure adequate strength. Mounting hole PCD is 106mm (centre to centre measured diagonally across opposing holes). If measured between each hole in a straight plane then the distance is 73.5mm centre to centre. Each mounting hole of which there are four should be 9mm clear in diameter. Cheers Simon

isl33p,are you still needing change over factory plenums so that you can use 'incorporate' the existing runners in your new plenum? or are you going to supply these yourself?
