how crazy that you bump for updates the day before i get back on, actually, not even a day before.

long time no Nico for me, my plans have changed slightly, but things are still moving along, slowly.

motors been out, stripped just about everything out of the front clip, then scrapped the chassis pieces ive had sitting outside.

replaced oil pan gasket and freeze plugs since they were leaking previously, and it looks great. motors all clean and nice, with a Fidanza flywheel and stage III clutch neatly installed. looks great.

motors ready to swap into the new coupe, just waiting for a nice day to finish pulling stuff out of the engine bay so i can pull out the blown KA.

ive got everything for my five lug swap/wheels upgrade and what not but tires and tie rods. however, i just came to find out the 5 lug hubs i bought on Z might be "lost" during shipment.

paid 405 for s14 rears and ichiba fronts, waited a month, finally come to find out they might be lost, and apparently he only insured them for like 80 bucks. he seems like a stand-up dude though, so it should get worked out nicely. hopefully.

hoping weather gets nicer real quick so i can get the motor swap done. ready to get back on the road as soon as damn possible.

hope no one missed me too much.

Nice, good to see you're still making progress. I hardly make my way on here anymore either but I was thinking of your car and thought I'd see whats up.

Did you end up ordering some nice Works from J-land?

i got fired from NTB. so thats weak.

BUT, ive got insurance on my car, so i just need to register it and tag it.

already ordered a set of Ichibas, crossing my fingers they actually show up in new condition.

and ive already got a set of 225/40 FK452's on their way to NTB for me.

got brakes already, and all my suspension of course.

my motor is swapped, all i have to do is put on the intake/exhaust manifolds, radiator and hoses, hook up the harness and fill everything up.

with no more income, im in a mad rush to get all my stuff done and relocate back to the good ol' VA.

ill take pictures tomorrow of what's happened so far, and ill take pictures as more stuff gets installed (finished engine bay, suspension, wheels and brakes)

start stuff off with the only picture that matters.

motor is all tidied up. ready to go. its been really nice the past couple days.

the second half of yesterday was spent removing about 2 inches of standing water in my trunk. then i just cleaned it up a bit, put in my new sweet lightweight spare. ill show that later. but i had to swap the red winged trunklid back on since my black one was leaking through the unfinished patchwork.

BUT, tomorrow ill be getting an early start, gotta go get a new battery, pick up some coolant. ive already got oil, and i have to put my header in. then it should be running like it was back in april. finish off the day by installing my rucas and toe arms, and putting my coilovers on. rolling the fenders/hammering obstructions/relocating wiring in the process.

five lug hubs are getting shipped out tomorrow, so i should have them about this time next week i hope. in the meantime ill get my car registered and...i guess. wait.

yeah, im gonna take it to NTB on a specified day after my hubs come in.

and im buying my tires from them, so ill be able to get the hubs installed, with new brakes and rotors, and have the tires mounted and balanced on the Works while the hubs and brakes are getting done.

well i got my exhaust all together. finally.

i reluctantly used my Pacesetter header. PITA POS. was hoping to run it to full stock exhaust, but bolts/nuts were rusted and breaking so i ditched the cat.

ive got 2.5" outlet header, to a 3" straight pipe, to stock exhaust behind it. all messed up.

plans for tomorrow: oil, battery, coolant. registering it at the dmv and getting the title in my name. then if its still nice outside ill be putting my suspension and stuff on.

getting so close. pictures for sure tomorrow.

well my cars completely legal. registration, title, inspection and all.

ALSO, drilled out the holes in my cat so i put that sucker back on using nuts and bolts. sadly, ive got a couple holes in my cat anyway, so its puttin' noticably under my feet. oh well.

installed my coilovers and control arms a couple days ago. looks a lot better already.

got it running, of course, drove it around some and had some leak problems that i have now addressed, hopefully i wont have any more of that after tomorrow when i put in the new intake manifold gasket set. i dug back into the head, took out the cams and stuff so i could retorque my head studs. that should do away with the oil leak.

got my five lug hubs in today, so now im just waiting til either friday or sunday to get my tires mounted and balanced, hubs, brakes and rotors installed, and another alignment.

heres a picture, i was test fitting to make sure my work lugs will work with the extended studs on the front ichibas.

pictures after install for sure. im super stoked.

why isnt anyone posting in here wanting to see my stuff. jeez louise.

replaced the passenger side tension rod due to near failure, and loosened the drivers side bolt through the bushing so theyre both tightened at full compression. feels A LOT nicer. not nearly as bouncy or bumpy. its awesome.

also, i have to wait til i get my new adjusting wrenches so i can drop the car another 1/4 or 1/2" more. it feels nice though.

im moving back to virginia tomorrow, drivin' this badass for 5 hours or so on backroads and stuff. i hope its really nice.

discuss.

i guess im still sorta worried about any kinks that need to be worked out with my motor before adding another hour or two onto the trip
