My 'critical eye' and 'negative thinking' have served me quite well in my career.

I'm an optimistic cynic. We're a rare breed. Find one to hang out with, we're cool people.

He's a Obama supporter who lives in the same neighborhood. He was listed at one time on the Obama website as a supporter as well. Why not embrace him?

Makes no sense to me.

I take that as the highest of compliments.

Just remember, don't inhale, you'll get sand in your nostrils.

You have to have had a point to begin with.

Sorry, you're playing in the wrong sandbox, kiddo.

There's a lot of people smart people here who will let you know when you've "gotten one over" on me, and I've not seen it yet.

But, if you feel better now, good on ya, mate!

p.s. How about that Louis Farrakhan guy? I hear he's a real Obamallama.

Wow the last two pages are full of nothing but partisan drivel, this politics board continues to devolve the closer we get to election day. As far as the Powell endorsement I think the only real benefit comes in the added positive coverage for obama. The real battle now between Mccain and Obama comes in the fight for supremacy in the news cycle. Mccain needs to dominate the headlines for good or bad to have a chance at swinging some independents back his way.

Let's revisit Cake's statement and see if we can locate this elusive "point" he speaks of...
CakeDaddy wrote:Your critical eye and negative thinking will be to your dis-advantage if you continue to go on the way you are going.
Critical eye. Yep. I'm an Investigator, it's what I do.

Background in auditing and law enforcement seems to give one a unique perspective from which to sniff out BS in almost any situation.

Negative thinking. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume this means that because I don't automatically fawn and slobber over The Obamessiah, I'm a negative person.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm a very optimistic person, ask anyone who knows me. I don't believe the sky is falling. I don't think our country is 'going to hell in a handbasket', and I still have faith that people are generally good inside.

However, I'm not gonna just cover my eyes and ears and just accept that this charlatan is the best choice for our country.

I don't see how this can possibly impact me in a negative manner. Perhaps you can enlighten me?

lemme tell you something Ish. You can make cracks about whether he was a good pilot, fine. He flew 23 missions before he was SHOT DOWN. You can make fun of his standing in his class, the bottom. But you don't have the right to say d!ck about what he did as a POW. they broke that man into little pieces. They had hack docs put him back together. He was in re constructive surgery and physical therapy for years trying to get his body back to some level of function. To this day he can't raise his arms above his head. You have not gone through the hell he has. Likely a good Kevin Costner movie is more torture than you could endure so don't even think about going there. Very bad show, adjust yourself.

The correct terminology here would be "...sand in your box...".

But honestly, you two should count to 10 and relax a little bit. No need to be sticking one's taco into the other's burrito here and spawning challupas.

It’s not worth the key strokes to enlighten you. You've already established yourself as being one sided and that equates to ignorance in my book, especially when you pride yourself on it. You've refused to let this play out before drawing an opinion and where I'm from...that's ignorance, but like I said earlier, I wish you the best, but you will be forever at a dis-advantage with your way of thinking. My work is done here. Good Night and enjoy the elections.

Now...I'll address you two. Thanks for waiting!

I suggest both of you stay out of this. I can only handle one negative hater at a time, but if you have to stick your nose where it doesnt belong...my point was made and proven courtesy of Mr.AZ. My work is done here! GoodNight and enjoy the rest of the election.

Hypocrite,

You're the one making this personal, so GFY. Nobody here cares to hear about my life, and I don't care to discuss that element of it even if they did.

Or what, you will write silly baseless accusations about me to? Oh please don't hurt me you intellectual titan you.

You think very highly of yourself, good. The higher your opinion of yourself the longer the fall when you realize it was unjustified. I can deal with dozens of haters in multiple treads at the same time, maybe you are overreaching your abilities if two people in the same thread taxes you. Tell ya what, I'll do a crossword puzzle and surf p0rn while I clown on you to give you a fair shot.

Game, set,
That is twice you have suggested I am a hypocrite, both times with no evidence to that effect. Back on the subject, again, When have you been tortured?

The statement that nobody cares to hear about your life is probably the closest thing to truth you have contributed to this thread so far. Is it something like this?

The details of my life are quite inconsequential.... Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament... My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon... luge lessons... In the spring, we'd make meat helmets... When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds—pretty standard really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, a Zoroastrian named Wilma ritualistically shaved my testicles — there really is nothing like a shorn scrotum — it's quite breathtaking... I suggest you try it. At the age of 18, I went off to evil medical school. At the age of 25, I took up tap dancing. I wanted to be a quadruple threat — an actor, dancer...

See how I do that cake? smack you with one hand, ish with the other

Hmmm. I'll let my more esteemed colleagues here address my supposed "one-sidedness".

While we're waiting for them to chime in, let's examine your supposed all-encompassing, open-minded viewpoints:
CakeDaddy wrote:Smart move by Colin Powell. McCain was dead in the water prior to this news, but now................ he has officially sunk. Rush and Hannity will say otherwise, but.... it's all wishful thinking at this point.
CakeDaddy wrote:You'll see more mindless rhetoric from Palin/McCain up until Nov 4th, but it will be at a lost cause. The same ole Bill Ayers, Jerimiah Wright, Joe Plumber, etc..... yada yada yada will continue to spew from their mouths. People are feed up with these tactics.
CakeDaddy wrote:Look everyone! Rush Leimbaugh Jr. in training! You ignorant fool ! Get back in my belly and stfu!
CakeDaddy wrote:Stop listening to Rush and Hannity; those boys were sent here as the devils rejected angels to hate on everything that is good.
CakeDaddy wrote:Email?? He cant use a computer! Try carving it in a stone and have a stork deliver it; he is sure to get that way
I apprecite your heartfelt concern for my continued well-being, Cake... but I'm thinking you and reality need to sit down and iron out your differences.

Sweet dreams.
