i think most ecu's sold on the market today just flash the current ecu into changing the amount of fuel being burned.

here you go moron i mean gwhizzzzz (sry typo)

The AccessPORT by COBB Tuning, Inc. is a handheld programmer that allows you to unlock your vehicle's hidden potential by reprogramming the stock Engine Control Unit (ECU).

With a short and guided installation process you can upgrade the ECU in your car from stock to one of our performance oriented tuning maps. The unit uses the OBD-2 diagnostic port, and requires no cutting, wiring, or other such modifications, simply plug-and-play.

The crowning function of the AccessPORT is COBB's unique 'Real-Time' mapping, which allows you to change the tuning data within seconds, as opposed to minutes. Simply park, switch realtime, and resume driving, it's literally that easy.

Using our off-the-shelf staged maps, the AccessPORT can unlock the potential of your vehicle by as much as 50hp, and more based on further modifications. The possibilities are endless since the AccessPORT is a short ProTUNE away from giving your car even more potential from the staged maps.

The AccessPORT's features include:

» On-the-fly map switching » Monitor vehicle sensor data and display in analog or digital format » Vibrant color graphic display with First-Ever full 260,000 color OLED, high-resolution screen » Read/Clear engine trouble codes » Preloaded with performance, economy and convenience maps » Update via the Internet » Measure 0-60 and ¼ mile times » Adjustable on-screen Shift Light functionality » Estimates horsepower and torque » Displays current and averaged fuel economy » Drag race simulation with reaction time and “time slip” data » Built in on-screen help mode function » Multi-Language support » RoHS compliant (Lead Free design) » Custom performance tuning for your specific vehicle and modifications as provided by an authorized AccessPORT ProTUNER™ center, or upgrade to the StreetTUNER™ software package for do-it-yourself tuning

Sounds like a winner, but have you heard any reviews on this product? Do you know how reliable or tempermental this can be? Would this have the potential to be a "warranty voiding" upgrade?

I'll ask the dealer about it next time I have to stop there. I'll get one for sure if not voiding the warranty.

By the way good find Suby. I think it can change the top speed also. It would make sense.

yaya ask your dealer. that would def help. BUTT arizona it does say that it can be mapped in seconds w.e so you can bring it back to stock settings and reset the ecu and your all set. before taking it in for service. unless i can be wrong but ya

I was thinking that same thing Suby... What the dealer doesn't know won't hurt them... I read up on the little info they have on it and it looks like you're not really adding anything, you're just interfacing with the ECU to tweak it to your own specs... This looks like another FUN gadget that I would get to learn how to play with... keep me posted as I'm not sure I would know how to tune my car properly... Knowin' me, I'd set the Fukker so that I get 3 miles to the gallon and 0-60 in 42 seconds FLAT!

ahaha ya that can def be a possibility also. slowest G on the road. but the item description and i quote Simply park, switch realtime, and resume driving, it's literally that easy. how accurate is that i dont know, it sure as hell may be worth the $700 as much as getting volcano isurance.

the cobb access port is worth every penny my firend has it for his 06 STI. the power diffrence from stock to the to the reflash from the cobb access port is amazing. his car went from 14 PSI to 18PI after the flash and also increased his gas milage better then stock. it also gave him 300WHP in stead of the factory set 253WHP. i just think its the best thing to go with IMO.

Sounds cool but for $800 you can get a Turbo XS UTEC which already has good reviews and you can even get a remote switch for about another $100 if you want to be able to switch between maps with a switch. It will need to be dyno'd though. I'm going to get mine soon and have it dyno'd at XS engineering. They are used a lot by DSport magazine so they should be good. Well good luck with whatever you choose.

the diffrence between the cobb access port and a piggy back or stand alone ECU it the u can also get ur car pro yuned and save that map on to the access port and u can always set it back to stock settings. also its just easyer to load a map ur self when they come out with up dates and it is also cheaper then having to go and get the map loaded in case ur battery dies. IMO thats a very good buy compared to getting a stand alone or piggyback plus the time and money for going back n forth to get it tuned and what ever.

How much faster do you want to go? I have been to 140 and still find a limiter.

huge topic in this thread if you look it up some of us are limited at 130mph. that opens up a whole can of worms dont ask why or w,e we have vids and all that if you search on here. but id say 140 145 would be fast enough. 130 is JUST LAME but im more interested in 1-100mph acceleration than anything past that. and from what ive heard so far this does a bit of both, while keeping your car practically stock.

Sorry Suby, but I think my next $1,000 bucks is going towards a Stillen Gen 2 dual catback exhaust... The C.F.O (Wife) wouldn't sign off on a gadget like this yet... Exhaust is the route I'm taking, but I'd love to hear what you think of this thing... Sure the exhaust won't beef up another 50+ HP, but a wise ricer once said "who needs to go real fast as long as you sound like you can"... I think he was a Honda driver...

Suby and i are in the same boat, are cars will not go over 130 mph. With this much power, and Stock V-rated tires, i think quite strongly the cars should go at LEAST 140 to maybe 146! or better yet very close to the > V < speed rating of the tires. Or really better yet, Drag limited! regards,, Greg

this won't make anywhere near 50hp on the G35 HR motor...

changing the boost/timing on a turbo motor via this programing is what nets such huge gains.

I'd guess we might pick up around 10whp from 6000rpm to redline.

is it worth having if your car is na w/t only bolt ons and exhaust? it seems like it would only be worth the money if you had fi.
