Rick, that sounds like a great idea! First thing tomorrow, I'm going to spray my entire car (tires and all) red, and I'm going to throw some Fuzzy Dice over the rearview, install airbag suspension, paint the interior gold (dash, seats, carpets), and mount a Taco Bell restaurant sign to the roof. "Me grande el cocina la bano de la porfavor senor taco baja baja uno los puertos!!!"

Interesting theme you have going there Kimber. Not sure I'd go sticking targets on MY car. I work in a school. Hat to see what types of things would hit that target as it sets in the parking lot.

I had someone kick the target on my Loyale while I was in a theater in Louisville one time :o/

Fortunately, these are a little higher and harder to kick (hopehope)

I'm finding out about pricing for my stripes!!!! YEAH!!

No, that just means that they'll find something else to hit it with.

People are so screwed up. Someone hit the a-pillar of my wife's last car, while sitting in our driveway, with... get this... A HATCHET!

WTF?! We came out and there was this weird-*** dent one morning that wasn't there before. I couldn't figure out what did it until I started matching up my tools in my garage and found that the flipping hatchet was the closest match.

Yes, it does. No offense, but having a light-ish blue and a light-ish red right next to each other with no contrasting color is REALLY hard on my eyes. Doesn't matter if it's on a car, on paper, on screen, whatever.

So is said "chick" on your hood perhaps related to you? heheh

And Driving - nah, it was about a week before we traded the car in, so we didn't bother.

(Oh, and yeah, EV, that's my 2 year old ;oD)

I'm calling a BS on this... Please don't purchase decals from edecals.com(I'm assuming it is okay if I post this since they are not a sponsor and we do call-outs on dealerships and the like, correct me if I'm wrong)
Me wrote:I need two stripes that are 6" x 5' for my vehicle. I need these stripes to be made up of a 2" reflective red strip, a 2" reflective blue strip, and a 2" reflective white strip.

I'm trying to determine if it'll be cheaper to have you assemble and send me the stripe than it would be to purchase the vinyl and have the guys who did the rest of my decals put it together. (my sign shop does not routinely stock reflectives and I do not wish to purchase an entire roll of each color)

I am assuming that the colors will be the same and that the quality of vinyl will be the same (my guy said something about 7mil?)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2548377

I'm likely to win NicoClub's Versa Forum Ride of the Quarter and I'd like to have the stripes for my photo shoot (the voting period ends the 28th)

thank you for a speedy reply.
edecals wrote:For us to cut the stripes it will be $60.00 for EACH color. We will send the pieces seperate and they will have to be installed as seperate colors. We would not put them together as 1 decal.
Me again wrote:But I can purchase 12" x 60" panels of each color for $34 a piece?

That seems a bit ridiculous. I talked to my sign guy and it won't cost me $78 to have six 2" strips cut and lined onto one backing. Thank you.

This seems like a ripoff and I hope you offer better pricing for your other custom work. I will also be mentioning on NicoClub that custom decals through your service are over-priced. If you can't cut straight lines for anything less than that I'd hate to see what you would have charged me for my roundels or propellers! (They are reflective and the props have a layer of clear over them and cost me $84 for all pieces, assembled.)
yes boys and girls... over $78 to cut six straight lines. (even if they "sold" me the three panels and then cut it it shouldn't cost this much - besides, if they then kept the remnants, they'd make pure profit on the vinyl costs for the next decal they sold with any of those colors. They do custom stickers, letterings, and numbers.)

I'm contacting another company. I refuse to buy the vinyl from them now. That just is BS!

Kimber, you are one crazy man. Holllllly **** your car is nuts. Props to your mods. Looks dope.. I think you should lower it.. maybe when you lower it it will start to fly with those propellers. Either that or your going to scare a few war veterans... haha just kidding.

Apparently I've not been paying attention. I had no idea you had a daughter. lol

There was another source I used for online decals last car I put them on, it was a canadian company but for the life of me I couldn't remember who it was.

Anyway, they would resize any of their "stock" decals for $2-$10, depending on the original size and the intended size. Dunno about custom decals, but the way internet companies cut vinyl, it doesn't exactly surprise me that they want that much. At least when it comes to color.

Nono, remember, I got the gender change in the voting thread thanks to Marleyfan (just teasing)

I don't care who does it, it's not worth $78 for six straight lines... I took drafting and art, I've cut matboard, surely I can cut some freakin vinyl if that's what it takes!!

Hey SV, Thanks!! Yeah, it is nuts (I want those freakin tanabe strut assemblies (and not just because they are red and blue))! I'm kinda nutty too and I love it!!! (definitely one of a kind ;oD) (the bailiff seems to like it too, I think I've hooked his interest with my car b/c it shows a side of me that isn't really seen while I'm in court... ;oD)

additional: yeah... my life is a little interesting and confusing. But I love my daughter and wouldn't trade her for the world.

Well, I'm running out of time and still have a long list of things I wanted to complete...

(spoiler, tails, engine area, headlights, calipers, stripes, 'CAMEL' break light, and vanity plate)

and after doing a trial photo shoot for location/lighting/positioning demos I've decided the things that MUST get done ...

and those things are the 'CAMEL' break light, the engine area, and the vanity plate. I'll call my sign guy Monday about doing the break light, I can do the engine area Monday evening along with the vanity plate and then I'll consider it done for now. I would have loved to have gotten my stripes on there. If the tint arrives Monday, I may be able to get my tails done, but I'm not counting on it.

Everybody get in!!"The Train! The Train!"Interior shot

That's it until after the 28th... At which point I'll either be VotQ (Versa of the Quarter) or I'll post my final product on this thread.

I'll also be posting a new video on my Myspace for those interested.

No, the "S" models have nothing where the SL overhead compartment is.

Kimber, I must say. Thats car is great. I really wasn't a fan of it when I first came to the site. But the blue and red grew on me as well. I don't even think its the colors, I think it's how you are so into the modding of your car. I can't help but to respect you. I like how you moved the "VERSA" to under the trunk handle. And how the interior control panel is blue. Classic. Keep up the good work. I'm jealous.

And CodeRed, I never knew about the SL reading lights. I have to say I'm really upset now. =( jk.

Did some surfing and came up with this:http://www.stripeman.com/I don't know anything about 'em but they sell 2" strips in a large variety of colors.
