will do, I'll be keeping my eye out for leds that I think could handle the elements. Or a big hood shaped led lol.

lol well magnets might bounce down into the moving bits if they were mounted under the hood. thats a little too multi-colored funny for me. (not funny haha, funny queer).

Worked on my truck a bit more. Cleaned up some more brackets and painted them black.

I just got my exhaust hanger and intake and exhaust gaskets, so I should be having it running on the next day I work on it. unfortunatly that will probably be next monday.

Started sourcing RB20 parts for my 240coupe. So that will be my next major project other than rewiring my 240hatch to get it running.

But other motor is out and rebuilt motor ready to drop in.

Initial cleaning. It had been sitting under a tree for a while, also I started cleaning up the bay. I plan on getting it as white with light cleaning as I can and touch up missing paint spots.

I had a busy day round the house, making a new section for my garage door, doing neighbors front brake pads for a 12pk of Becks, and I got the motor out and back in before the sun went down.

I never painted the block but it looks good. I painted the dust shield light blue on the inside and brushed the outside. brightens the bay from the bottom when its sunny, I like that. Should have pics up soon. I still need to get all my fluids and start it to see if it worked.

I found why I thought I lost a hose. :/ You might not be able to see that its inside the bell housing somehow.

got her started. idled pretty good at 1500 but thermostat isn't opening and motor was getting hot. Also it dieseled off the float the second time we shut it off. So I need to get a stat and set that timing.

I need to bleed the clutch line, the rod got pushed out, might need a new slave or a rebuild kit.<--- might actually have a rebuild kit, but it might actually be for the CMC.

So truck was getting too hot. We looked at the stat and one bolt broke so I had to swap the whole intake. :squint:

Now that we had a new looking intake on and a new stat in. It definitely opens nicely.

I think the carb is running lean because the motor heated up pretty fast, and deiseled all the fuel out of the carb from being to hot I guess. so Later today I hope Will and I can get it right.

I want to drive this bish again.

The timing has to still be off. at first it was a 1500 idle, now it goes straight to 3000 or more and sits there.

but my friend was doing the adjusting so I will look at it myself next time.

HE RUNS!!!!!

A diesel Mechanic came to help me out, and got my carb just right, he said my timing might be off a tooth cuz we maxed out the timing, Its on the money right now, but if that changes I will redo the front timing.

Other than that, I just ordered a new slave, should be shifting great again tomorrow. Then I just need a collector gasket and I should be right for inspection.

Then I'm going to clean the s*** out of him and post pics.

Dropped off my truck today to get inspected. I replaced the two relays above the fuse panel and cleaned up a fusible link and all lights started working.

Yep a Holset HX35w(from a 5.7 diesel) with a welded wastegate, The manifold is for the KA24e so the ports are the wrong shape. but my friend and I have been talking about how fun a turbo blow through carb would be or using a z20e MPFI setup and turboing it that way.

Well I got it running today after I found the batt cable for the alt. turns out you need that to charge the battery.

Then drove it to a friends and picked up a generator he borrowed from work and drove it a while. So it seems all is good now.

Damn throttle plate sticks. I read that a stiffer return spring should be all I need.

Somewhere else I read that Weber admits the main issue with these carbs is the over tightening over throttle linkage, hence sticky throttle plates.
