I don’t fault the dealer. The tech told me, he would just replace the battery if it was up to him and he’s a good guy who I trust. He did the tsb on my 21 and charged me as minimally as he could which I appreciate. Still $245 to grease axles that should probably be a recall at this point. It’s been going on for years costing customers millions of dollars. I’m just tired of issues with this car that I haven’t had with others. I posted about a lump of what looked like a wiring harness on the drivers floor board…nope. The dealer fixed a piece of styrofoam installed wrong. That’s in addition to the front wheel bearings bearing replaced and the stock hankooks being bad right out of the gate. I don’t know that the wheel bearings were even bad tbh, but that’s what the dealer said. I just gave up and drove to the tire shop and spent $1k and problem solved. We bought this for the wife because she travels quite a bit and her 18 rogue was getting up there in miles yet never left her stranded, but a 6 month old car did. Bad batteries happen and I get that, but I’m beginning to think this car is cursed. When I was at the dealer dropping off my 21, there was an older couple with a 24 sl Altima who were losing their $h#t over their info screen/radio going completely dark every other time they drove it and apparently were sick of Nissans games trying to fix it. I ordered a couple of Noco jump boxes to keep in our cars from now on. Probably should have done that years ago honestly. A bad battery in this car just seems par for the course with this thing.

The company is in trouble for a reason, and that's a pretty good nutshell summary. Nissan's response to rashes of bad batteries and bad radios was to create VCAT, I'm pretty sure just to cut their losses by making it difficult for us to replace them. If I was in charge I'd be asking engineering why the charging systems don't work right and going back to Panasonic instead of Bosch for my radios, but sadly, we've kind of got used to regressive instead of proactive actions from upstairs.
