Looks like your're going to require a different steering rack.

Also, how is that going to be removed from the car?

I'm designing a way for the subframe to be detachable so the car has to be lifted and the frame stays on the ground.

I agree about the gussets, the amount of torque a VH produces (especially since you want yours twinturbo), combined with the weight, is going to put immense strain on those mounts.

I've attached a pic of how I think you could reinforce those mounts (but probably extend the height of the gussets until they reach the top of the platform that the rubber mount rests on.)

Thanks so much.

This is what I have in mind after some good comments.

Will do it and keep it updated.

Sterring rack, we have found a good solution without changing it. Will send photos of it when done.

As for removing the engine or maintainance, we have will be doing a removeable firewall cover. however, its still lots of problem if the engine have to come out.

if u have a design on how to remove the engine on the floor by lifting the car, I would be very please if u can send to me. I thinking its probably a removeable cross memeber?

Thanks....

comments please........ each idea can contirbute to better sucess...

Take a look at the pics of the underbody of my skyline. It has a removable crossmember from factory.

Drill holes down through your chassis rails, weld crush tubes into them. These will serve as the bolt locations for bolting a crossmember up to your chassis rails.

just some update again...project is still alive

going to test drive the car in NA this week......hopefully my boss which is paying me a visit this week don't take up too much of my time....keke

engine in place and fired up... idle well steering doneradiator custom in progress.exhaust not done. test drive with header manifold only... cabin cover for engine not done.... i be test driving with the engine beside me... hot.hot hotmanual gearbox in place and running.

next step:to install and complete the radiator

twin turbo T04E with custom header.... both turbo going to be mounted on the left bank of the cyclinder. this is due to the steering and brakes take up all the space at the right bank cyclinder. as such, route the pipe from the right to the left. will group the pulsing also. there is a article in 1uzfe forum saying grouping the pulse can actually reduce the lag and increase the spool time. L 1,L4,R2, R3 into turbo 1R1,R4,L2,L3 into turbo 2. cyclinder numbering L1,L2,L3,L4 into order, front to back. same as right.sorry i can't really remember the firing order at the moment. hope you guys can understand. please comment on this set up also. thanks.

water/air intercooler set up in the moment

looking out for ECU.. hope to get DTA S80 or DTAP8 any commnets? as they are not popular at all. but i like their numberous funcions such as traction control...

cover the engine finally...

tune ecu, once complete, change injectors to 850cc

boost 0.5bar with stock engine

run for a while until money is recovered...

change internal to 8.5CR

boost 1.6bar

thats all... any comments or suggestion please help me..

picture and video will probally come after the test drive.

CheersDerrick

Badass doctorchee, great to see some videos :D Keep em coming!

Just curious, why are you going with 57 trim turbos? Wouldn't those be a little small considering the volume of exhaust gas the engine is going to produce with even mild boost?

....

hmmmm not sure. its T04E x 2pc.. too small? i thought just nice.. a little lag with enough hp at the mid to top end..

Turbo cold a/r 0.5hot a/r 0.84looks quite big and 1pc should be able to support close to 500hp. so 2 pc 1000hp?

turbo is cheap turbo.. not real Garrett

please discuss further? give me your comments bro..

please find attached some photo of my turbo... and other accessories...

Oh sorry mate I believe I got confused, sounds like you've picked out some good sized ones.

BTW I can't open your links, it asks for username and password. You need to link the ones starting with i177, not s177.

hi all

please find below a link to my twin turbo set up.

http://i177.photobucket.com/al...7.jpg

anyone, please comment.

the main idea is on the right bank, there is no place to mount the turbo due to steering, brakes etc... so both turbo is mounted on the left.

In addition, will take the chance to group the exhaust accrodingly to the twin scroll turbo. hope the grouping of pulse will produce better spool time and higher efficicency for the engine. "as each pulse try to draw and assist next pulse"

sorry for the lousy drawing.. i not good at autocad and recently work is too loaded.

CheersDerrick

btw think we share the same engine.... any idea of how the car will run for ET time? just some estimation will do.

body 1150Kg. 18inch rim stock na with manual 5spd, final 3.7ratio - ET?body 1200kg, 18inch rim boost 0.5bar manual 5spd, final 3.7ratio - ET?body 1200kg, 18inch rim boost 1.6bar, manual 5spd, final 3.7ratio - ET?

Hi All

since sometimes that i update this thread. have been doing some update at the 180degree thread instead.

As such please find below some updates:1) engine install and running with stock - complete2) radiator - complete3) exhaust - complete4) turbo, BOV, wastegate install - complete5) manual conversion - complete6) 180degree exhaust - complete (not yet test run, no sound review haha

uncomplete1) water intercooler tank.2) firewall -2weeks time start3) DTA P8rpo stand alone ECU - after firewall (stock in hand)4) test drive5) full roll cage 6) upgarde clutch (no money to buy)7) brakes upgrade 6pf+4pr (stock in hand) 8)rims and tyre upgrade (no money to buy)9) body kit10) paint work

below is some photo update, i have change the throtte body to 100mm and put it in front to create more plenum volume, never see any do that before, however, not sure it will have problem a not and also does it help?

please anyone out there who have knowledge on this please chip in your ideas.

Bracket for the water intercooler.. you can locate it? we did this because there will be less movement if you attached the water intercooler to the engine.

Me, just showing off my proud water intercooler design by me and hand made by the shop - 2in1out

TB extend in front for more plenum volume, please someone there me if this works? or it useless etc.. i have no technical idea for this except i know it looks like increase the volume. advantage? disavenates? more lag? etc.

water intercooler in space. try to make the shortest piping if possible. however, the turbo to the water intercooler inlets is a bit far... mission fail a bit...

V mount radiator. custom made. but the angle will be lesser than that in the actual mounting. a smaller radiator will be in space on top for the water intercoller. huge water tank will be made and place on top of the rear seats inside the cabin. with a lip to put in ice.. for drag time

some other view

some other view

piping and turbo in the back part

future plansEngine currently stock, will be boosting the min 0.8bar for a while. A VH45 crank will be in after my budget permits again, together with cams, valve spring, head works, ports, 9:1 piston, head stud etc.. than 1.6bar (should be bad enough to drive than)

ok so much at the moment. hope its useful information for the others who plans to turbo the car. yet to drive, but i am sure the result would be good. but for sure its not a easy thing to twin turbo the VHs...

winner is the one enjoys the race most, not the one who cross the line

nonetheless, here is some update..

180degree exhuast completedwater intercooler set up completedroll cage completedfirewall (should be ready by today, going workshop after this email)ECU - next weektest drive kekeke

thats all..

Very cool.
