Ya they just now got rid of them on mp3car.com they had them on there site on the 15th. Oh well the only problem is now my only option for in a DIN slot is about $500.

Yesterday I bought about $40 worth of wires and quick disconnects so I should be set except I have a drillpress and no drillbits to chuck in lol so I'll have to drill holes to mount the 12v PSU in the case.

Oh ya any one know where I can get standoffs? For the 12vPSU.

I went to go buy the monitor and just for Shets and Giggles, I went and looked at what else they had... Now I'm on the fence, I don't know what to buy.

Here's my choices. Other than the 10.4" OnePuff was showing in his post^.8" http://www.gooddeals18.com/pro....html2.5" http://www.gooddeals18.com/pro....html3.5" http://www.gooddeals18.com/pro....html

There are also some rear veiw mirror screens that i might want to get IDK. I want a 7+ monitor for a main and a smaller monitor for in console monitoring or homemade HUD.

I just don't know, any help guys?

DBL post woot!

I just wanted to remind every one that if some thing messes up and you can't fix it and your going to throw it away the beat the $hit out of it... it might fix it.

I may have just found a HD for the carputer, the thing hadn't worked in like 3-4 yrs. I hooked it up and it still clicked, the read head stuck. Suddenly I rememberd what my teacher Mr. Heart said (yes I learned this in comp repair class .) So, I beat it's A$$.

Plugged it back in and it ran fine came up with a GRUB error, I guess I had linux on it when it died. I'll see if it'll take an OS some time this week.

Just thought you guys might think that was funny. Night.

P.S. Post 250 woot!

The 10" will take some fabrication i.e. hacking to fit but would look awesome. Go with the 8" it should fit perfectly. Anyway here's a huge thread about the 10" screen. The 8" might be talked about also.

these guys have cable for $60 plus $1.6 for shipping. SERIAL PORT ONLY

build your own for about the same price
Vancouverbc,

Did you order the consult cable from obdwholesale? I thought I saw a post on SR20Forums about it.

Do you like it? good / bad? I'm looking at ordering a spare cable so friends can use it. Or should I just get one from PLMS or NisTune?

PS, where is 'obdwholesale' actually located? Hong Kong?Their host / IP resolves to Sweden..

Your welcome.

If your still wondering what the 10.4 in. screen might look like here is a few pictures I took of a drill press bench that I'm assembling tonight. It measures exactly 10.4 in. so I know how big it is now. It's not bad but it would be a pain trying to fit it in. The heater controls would have to be moved and the double din would disappear.

Pics!!!

I might have to wait on buying one though. I might have to bail out some friends. There having financial problems.

Is that 10.4" diagonal or a 10.4" square? The 8" should fit just right when you take the bezel off and just use the screen. I know i have plenty of extra space in the s14 since the 7" doesn't even fill the double din space.

It's a little over 10 and a quarter, and it's square the 10.4" and the 8" are both 4:3 aspect ratios whereas the 7"'s are 16:9. I forgot how wide it is, but i did get it all set up but too tired to do any drilling tonight. Maybe hopefully tomorrow. I is exited.

I know, I know, this is the slowest project ever but at least its moving... Right?

Got the 12v PSU in just need to make some test cables to make sure it works before wiring it in.

And the machine that made it all happen.

The only problem was that the holes where to small for the stand offs the first time around, just had to ream them out a little with a bigger drill bit.

I maybe sick but I can still serf the net, and to answer your question I'll probably get this one. http://www.gooddeals18.com/pro....html

If you go by the Model No. its the newest one, and the best priced to boot.

I've also been looking at storage options, probably going CF (Compact flash) but these are worth consideringhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/...08063http://w ... t/...09242

So the first one is physically and capacity wise half the size, right. But the problem is is its R/W speeds are scary, si the second is the better deal. I would really like to see the prices come down more before I buy but i have the time to wait. Compact flash is my best bang for the buck right now i think.

Just get a laptop drive. It will handle the car environment with ease. Cheaper and much more storage capacity.

Well I'm not going to start with an SSD, it's just it fits the application well. Reliable and fast reads. The writing is slow, but I'm not going to jump in my car to rip cd's as I'm driving down the road. The load times are impressive on that 16gb some one said load times into XP were about 10s, so that give me getting into my car starting the engine and about the time I'm puting it into gear every thing should be loaded. Again this is later on. I would like to play around with all sorts of media just to see how well every thing works.

Ok look at this...Yep, The Wicked Witch is right behind Dorthy. Dorthy ain't going to be doing much running though, fuel pump is going out. Thats the reason I got the Witch down here now. DD with air woot.

So think Dorthy needs a Walbro 225? Also, what else do I need other than the fuel pump? Regulator, I guess?

I license the Witch tomorrow.

I haven't got a clue how many miles are on one of them... I have 2 stock one's... But they are for the s13 I don't know if they are the same for the s14's or not?!?!? I'd sell it for next to nothing its just taking up space in my room right now. I can take some pictures and send them to you if you'd like
