well small update...

starter in the black car was shot out, so i stole the one out of the gray s14... cranks up better/faster than before!!!

Also, got un-lazy and decided to install my FReddy oil pan... and in the process, stripped the center of the three rear pan bolts.... let's hope it holds eh?

well, on with the pics....

Greddy oil filter hanging out by the strut tower.... i used Rotella T 15/40 oil, s*** works out AWESOME...

Other than that, i got my freshly converted S13 SR to S14 chassis harness in the mail, done by Martin @ Z fever, god it looks BEAUTIFUL, thanks Martin!!! Also, i got my Innovate LC-1 Standalone wide band kit to replace my AEM UEGO, direct port to the NIStune ECU... full on data logging pulls for here on out...

more updates to come... especially some time this week when i send my car to Martin @ Z Fever to get it dyno tuned.... I'll post the printout and numbers etc....

so guys, i got some AWESOME news.....

my house arrest/probation officer came over tonight for his random visit, and we got to talking... as some of you may know I'm "sponsored" by Don Ahrens, and possibly "sponsored" by Sullivan Racing LLC (if Tom will sign off on it), but Sullivan Racing wanted to see me drive before they did a "sponsorship" with me....

well, he said "just let me know when and where, and as long as you don't spend the night, or leave the state, I'll clear any event/competition you need to attend"

so now, i got a ticket to ride!!!! any drift/road race event i wish to participate in, i'm now authorized to drive!!!!! get ready, cause the black car is gonna hit the track, and hopefully, not the wall.....

is that forum even still alive anymore? and for real, i'd love to meet most of you guys out there... and then get sideways and shiz...

yeah, tell me about it.... hard parking driveway shots are REALLY getting old hahahah, there will be plenty of filming, and pics of my epic failure attempted drifting... so stay tuned!

thanks man, and no worries, this project isn't over yet... the black car is still under construction...

brosive, i'm broke as hell.... i've built my car on flipping parts, saving, haggling, and tapping into the fund i have to build my 2 bay garage on my new property... i get mad deals on parts, and sometimes sell em for twice as much as what i paid, yet still under average going rate.... that's how it's done...

no need to get down bro, i've been there... just a matter of turning a wrench or two, even on stuff that doesn't need it....

so.... small update.....

Martin at Z Fever / Fever Racing in Tampa FL is a beautiful, beautiful man.....

as you guys may know, i had sent off a S13 SR harness to be converted for a S14 chassis.... i hooked it all up tonight, and well, it fired right up, no problems, idled smooth as a babys a**.... and then i go to push the happy button.... AC.... i push the button, with recirc on...... ICE f***ING COLD AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm happy as a pig in mud right now... now, i can boost 15lbs, with 70* cabin temps...... whooping mustangs and camaros with a Parka on FTW!!!

now all i have to do it wire in the kick down switch for the IACV... i turn the AC on and the RPMs drop 250-350rpm... he would have done it, but it's something on the body side... i'll probably have Martin do it when i have him dyno tune my car this/next week.... although he said it's as simple as T'ing a wire, and that's it... so we'll see what's up...

so, another thing to check off the luxury list-

Air ConditioningHeatPower Steering

now all that's needed is to wire in the KADE throttle body and I'll have the second pulley for my cruise control that Martin also wired in....

THANKS MARTIN!!!!!!!!!

i don't know if i should say, cause i kinda got a deal on it.... average going rate for a harness conversion usually goes for around $250-$350, depending on who you have do it, and what you want done....

i got it done for substantially less... i don't want to say too much cause all he needs is people calling him up and saying "BZ got it done for this much etc etc..."

but i got it on the cheap.... i think his average rate is around $250 tho, but WELL WORTH THE MONEY SPENT... harness came back beautiful, and went right in with no issues, all i had to do was wire in my Z maf pig tail, and that's only cause he didn't have any on him at the time...

well, another small update.... i sold my AEM UEGO wideband cause it wasn't really compatible with my NIStune, and i've read up on it and i guess it's a piece... so i sold it, and got a Innovate LC-1 with a DB gauge.... got it all installed, and of course, pics!!!

controllers in, sensor wire ran up through the front of the shifter boot... got my calibration switch, and trouble code LED mounted in the center console... a bit loud for my tastes, but a clean install none the less...

here's my wiring mess before final tuck... had to get a serial port>USB to run the controller to my lap top... so i got like 12FT of wire i need to stash away before final install... i want to get a dual port USB hub, so i can have one wire running out of my glove box, and one wire to my laptop, instead of opening the glove box and having a can of snakes pop out at me.... (see the ECU? I'm temporarily running a RS Enthalpy Rom tune)

final install, Innovate DB gauge, GReddy Gauge pod... and my freshly installed Sparco pedals... mind the dirty car, hasn't been detailed in a week, and i've been driving it to work (construction)....

tis all for now..... more updates when i get the terminator plug for the Innovate and get it tied into my NIStune for datalogging.....

Regarding your fogs, how did you still use them with your FMIC set up? What intercooler do you have again?

well, went to my PO's today for my weekly report... reconfirmed my clearance to go to the Desoto drift event event in Bradenton, all's still well with that... i also mentioned that i wanted to get my car dialed in for the event, so he allowed me to go to Tampa sometime next week to have it dyno tuned my Martin @ Z Fever, so YAY!!

I thought i was going to have to have someone else drive it down there for me... but now i get to go, and pic whore it up.... first car of mine ever on a dyno!!

I'm going to mount my camera to the rear C-pilla bar, you should be able to see me, the track, and all that... if i can get it fixed to the ext as well, then there'll be some out car, on car footage as well...

don't get your expectations up, i kinda suck.... i've put more time in my car building it, that driving it...

yeah this is definitely one of the top threads i check on nico, I like it cuz it's not really a baller build but it has a lot of functionality and good old DIY work

hey did you have a problem fitting the godspeed RLCA lower ball joint shaft into the spindle? I was installing mine today and I had to grind the tapered part down a bit so it could slide all the way into the spindle and get enough threads for the cotterpin. I measured the taper and it seemed like it was the same as the stock ball joint taper but i could only get maybe 3-4 threads to stick out the top...i hope that all made sense lol

Komet, and spooled, thanks guys!!! i just like that people actually follow it, like what spooled said, it's not really a baller thread, but a lot of DIY kinda info, and all function, and no real flash....

spooled, as the for that RLCA, i did have a minor problem like yours, same kinda deal but i got more than your 3/4 threads on, i got it to the top of the castle nut, but not far enough to get a cotter pin in there .... so it's just kinda chillin...

so you went with the Godspeeds huh?

so far i've put around 1500+ miles on em without a hitch, my right front LCA is getting squeaky tho, i insepected it, and nothing wring... just that glorious metal to metal contact...

yeah i got the godspeeds as well. The driver's side was really off and i had to grind the taper skinnier but the passenger side needed a little grinding. The castle nuts don't exactly line up perfect with the holes tho so a little drilling action was required lol.

But you should get a cotterpin in there or at least loctite the threads so it doesn't come off
