Hood pins look terrible. I'd rather go with no pins and TRUST that the latch will work properly. If it doesn't, oh well.

DMAX hood. Fits fine to me.
Need I educate you on what an aftermarket hood can do to you at 80mph?

Granted, mine was CF, and my 13 has no top, but myself and our spokesmodel could easily have been killed.

Latch didn't fail, but a photographer at the shoot opened the hood and didn't close it good - I didn't know until it was too late.

Aerocatch is now my new favorite product (and they look sweet).

What they're trying to say is that reguardless of anything ever...Your hood is gonna come back on you. Me, I hate those hood pins, and wouldnt install either. If you dont wanna drill into your expensive hood then don't. I wouldnt, hell, I'm not gonna drill into my stock hood. The hood isnt gonna just come back on him. Ya, if a photographer wants to take a photo of under your hood, open and close the hood yourself to insure that it is latched properly. I'm certainly not letting the photographer touch my car, but, thats just me.

I don't think drifters worry about what happens to a hood, or aero. If BH cared that much about holes, he'd be building a trailer queen.

Glad you can foresee the future. Lots of people would disagree, the Nissan hood latch is sturdy, but the little ring of metal embedded in fiberglass is NOT.

I think you missed the part where I mentioned I was unaware. But thanks for the scolding.

I do care now.

I went with NO body kit this time. The pait got sanded and buffed this time.

Can't afford to blow up kits everytime I drive (like the 14). lol

At any rate.

I hope the hood never has a problem.

Ok.
Hey AZ, wasnt scolding. It was your mistake not to check to see why your hood wasnt lined up properly and if it was closed. You know full well, if anyone else had mentioned that someone else opened their hood and didnt latch it fully, they would get flamed with the best of them.

As far as the holes in the hood are concerned...Alot of people would agree with me as well as there is alot of people that would disagree. Hence, everyone has their own opinion. Also, not sure of the analogy you have used there about if BH cared that much about holes, then he would be building a trailer queen???? You mean that if he doesnt have hood pins then he should be trailering it to shows. Thats not what the car was built for.

All I know is, is that I see a whole lot of cars with CF hoods, and stock latches, no pins, and I know of alot of cars that way with no issues. I have not however, heard of too many CF hoods popping up on them, unless it wasnt installed properly, I.E. Not properly lined up, not latched properly, etc... I havent heard of anyones hood flying up simply because they didnt have hood pins.

Also, we could go back and forth all day and night, doesnt matter. Only matters what BH decides to do, and I am confident that BH will take care of his own.

Whats really really really most funny, is that this car has hood pins. Look at the upper support, there are two shiny metal pins standing up there, so I suppose, they're not much better. Soooooo funny that this has become a "better get hood pins or you hood is gonna fly up" issue, and a facepalm picture was used to show the stupidity of not using the pins and the car in the pic has pins. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Talk about a face palm.

I think the fact that AZ said he wasnt aware the hood was opened... should have ended the arguement. If you are unaware it was ever opened... why would you check it?

Hood pins are a precaution, not necessity. s*** happens either way. You can only do so much to stay safe, nothings definate.

i dunno what it is with these JDM OEM lips but damn they are really expensive.

the JDM s14 kouki bumpers are 220 and the JDM lip is 400 and the s13 kouki stuff is even more

but it is what it is, if it breaks it can be fixed/replaced

true, you gotta pay to play....and try not to crash lol

how confident in your skills are you in keeping this car in one piece? I've seen some vids of you crashing that old s14 here and there, not sure if that was when you were first starting out or not.

i can see that..

but does it really matter what you look like when your tearing up the track?

its not like you can even see the front of the car when your driving

I might keep this car in one piece. it won't have ziptied on body kits that scrape the ground the whole time, so that's good.

I'll try and take it easy in this car (maybe).

it 100% matters what you look like when you tear it up at the track. The fans want to see a cool car. They do NOT want to see one that is taken apart and looks like crap.
