Get a job somewhere first, get a KADE for the time being, swap it in, we could get a bunch of us together and plop it in on a weekend, and sell the ca while you still have it alive. Then save and fix all the stock stuff, enjoy the car for a good looking car and then go for a faster engine. You had your fun, you know you can drive, time to take it easy. If that engine is really dieing, you need to get a plan together. If not sell that thing to me dirt cheap, I revive 240's, not destroy :)

UGHHHHH
cyl 1 had this...
Image
an oily, black, gap all screwed up sparkplug.

and the rest wer all charcoaly and had a tinyyy bit of oil on them. not as bad as the first tho.
Image

and then in the piping...
Image
thought mabey turbo is going.
Image
as you can see its all oily. BUT there is ZERO shaft play. its super tight.

i mean i know journal bearing turbos will always shoot a bit of oil around.
but why was it on the plug like that?
I just think the old ca18 is dying a slow death.
rings on cyl 1/headgasket/ turbo seals/ random other gaskets that hold back oil...
time for fresh ca.

Its daily driver days are officially over for now.

As far as I can tell the piping looks normal for 20 yr old journal bearing seals, specially since your shaft doesn't wiggle (lol).
Headgasket is probably fine. That plug only has oil on the top of it, the electrode and insulation look nice and not coated with oil burnoff or fuel.
SO, just the valve cover gasket is leaking on that spark plug a little bit.
No biggie at all. Get better gapped plugs though, and please, NGK only for ur nissan.

You're worrying too much. Get a nice tune so it runs right then you'll be able to tell when it's sick.

bad gas+ fouled plugs+ leaking valve cover gasket = crappy running car evidently. who woulda thought..

to fix it i got a z32 fuel filter, new plugs
new valve cover gaskets/ half moon gaskets
Image

apon removing of the valve covers i was shocked at to how perfect the cams are. everything looks to be in tip top shape.
Image

the valve covers wer nasty inside and out tho. lots of oily build up on the inside and the blue paint chipping off the outside.

so i stripped all the old paint off and sprayed and cleared them. it was cold so they came out meh. better than before tho.
Image
and completly degreased and cleaned the insides. put the clean baffle things back in with fresh rtv and they look good as new.
Image
Image
picked up some shiny new hardware that had a normal hex head instead of the dumb phillips oem ones.
Image
incase anyone wants to know i used m6x1 20mm for inside and 35mm for outside.
retaped the coil harness wires. the clips are all broken so im currently looking for new ones.
Image
hopefully the car runs alot better now.
waiting till tomorrow to drive it cause the rtv needs to set.

okayyyyyyyyy
so ordered new tie rods outers from a nico sponser. and when they arrived they were NOT the brand i ordered. they wer china nasty "OE brand" parts.
i emailed. they sent me QSTEN ones for free.
Image
now which one would you want on YOUR car?
Image
ya the oe brand ones are bad... looks and feels like plastic. the joint flops around... and its a good 2cm shorter than its supposed to be. yuck.
Qsten is the SAME as oem. thery nice a beefy and shiny and stuffs
so i started out with 2 of all this stuff.
Image
new inners, outers, and boots and locktite
old tie rods wer shot...
Image
removed old stuffs
giant wrench is a MUST for the inners to come off. and eat your wheaties.
Image
this is what was left of the old tie rod end on the passenger side.
Image
installed newww
Image
i tossed the lil oem spacer locker thingy and used lock tite on the inner tie rod.
aligned via the didderson method.
Image
and bammm done.
Image
its the smoothest anythings ever went with this car.

Those outers look real nice.. look like the moogs i bought. Lol @ china's attempt and fail. It actually looks like you'd have more bump steer with those.
Thanks for the plug lol, sorry it was tough to explain over text message, but ya got it!
Still looking forward to hear what your new mpg ratings are after the re-time.
Ecu was probably kicking so much fuel in to compensate for knock creating advanced timing.

^ Unless someone walks by with a knife or something, it would take quite a bit of effort to break a ziptie like that.

A BOV is better than a STUFFED DOMO

Bersh you should treat your rare blitz bov better than that :P.
Oldschool jdm bov's are the s***.

Yer funny. IMO towhook toys need to be kept to a minimum size to still look good. I just uninstalled mine.. Growing out of the look? Idunno
